Dennis Diken:

Mel, did Sid Bernstein manage BCRs when they started?
Avatar 2:24pm
AtlanticTunnel:

I think their first manager was Tom Paten, later disgraced and jailed!
Avatar 🎸 2:24pm
MelaniR:

Hmm, maybe but not by the time I was working with them at Arista. I would have loved that! Sid Bernstein was my hero.

Dennis Diken:

look who can answer our question!

Bay City Rollers: Once Upon A Star

Mitchell Cohen, Phonograph Record, September 1975

THE BAY CITY Rollers campaign is underway, and its components are familiar: screaming female fans in Great Britain, Sid Bernstein masterminding tour plans, back-to-back appearances on network TV (broadcast from the Ed Sullivan Theatre, no less), and a well organized press blitz.
Avatar 🎸 2:34pm
MelaniR:

Of course! I joined Arista in late 1976. The amazing Carol Klenfner was the group's publicist so I'm sure she got to work with Sid...

Dennis Diken:

Ed, Bridget St John managed Kenny’s Castaways back when we played there in the 80s, she was always at the club
