With billows and blasts from choirs and orchesters
Buskers and talkers
Big bands and squawkers,
the Stork Club has retained its qualities of decaying elegance and dwindling significance since the late 1950s.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm doctorjazz:

Not me, Storkie, Sir, your Excellency!
Avatar 12:58pm Stork, or Wolfgang, as the case may be:

That's more like it, doctorjazz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Nit picker WR sez:

the Leon Thomas with Oliver Nelson was initially released in 1971 so probably not recorded in 75.

Since i delurked, might as well share that in that same year a lady friend said our relationship would evolve to romance only if i could sing like Leon Thomas. I couldn't, it didn't. I still have a bunch of his albums. Haven't seen her in about 35 years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm doctorjazz:

It's the yodel, WR, wins them over every time. I had to propose in a yodel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Nit picker WR sez:

Ah, christi and Granny, might you be speaking of the karaoke last night? And MB did stellar?
Avatar 1:02pm Stork, or Wolfgang, as the case may be:

Howdy, and thanks for the fact-check, WR! Always welcome.
Avatar 1:03pm Stork, or Wolfgang, as the case may be:

Wow, tht is super-specific, WR. She knew what she was about!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

i just loves me a good mwah ha ha ha!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm WR:

And actually, yes, she did specify the yodel.
Avatar 1:05pm Stork, or Wolfgang, as the case may be:

He did go all Screamin' Jay on that, didn't he, Granny?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

Nit picker WR sez: yeah, Stashu's karaoke party was so fun!!! I failed to request a song, so no one got to hear my yowls, but there were so many fun performances.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

Nit picker WR sez: that's a tall order for romance!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm doctorjazz:

Missed the karaoke, sounds like it was fun! (Caught up with Acid Jazz Hands, which I missed the night before, in the archives. Fun show if you like musical theater). Spared everyone my Lou Reed Rock and Roll...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm doctorjazz:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm WR:

You may term it as robot time, for me it is listening to Doug Schulkind curated playlist.
Avatar 1:49pm Stork, or Wolfgang, as the case may be:

Good verbiage, WR. I will surely riff off of that in the future.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm WR:

Alan Silva, please take a bow for your marvelous bowing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

chrestikins: Dana was quite popular, wasn't she? Both of the Eno karaoke tracks were ones she'd made, so she was pleased! <3

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm WR:

Wow. I about wore this Yusef Lateef LP, would have it on constant replay some nights. This Handy album too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm WR:

Sorry to hear Fred, but your comment earlier reminds me that NYS state is auditing my tax return and requested all forms, pay statements and supporting documents to be sent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm fred:

@WR: Can't you just pull off a Trump and just call in sick?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm fred:

For the record, I tried to call my aunt and got a "we don't have anyone by that name here" reply. Seems like she's OK, but all I got was an acknowledgement that she's still alive
Avatar 2:23pm Stork, or Wolfgang, as the case may be:

WR: Love the Yusef. Even go t my snobby hard-bop only friend to admit it's a wondrous album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm doctorjazz:

Great stuff today, Stork (had me hit buy once). Gotta go in a bit, thanks! Good week all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Doug Schulkind:

That Yusef track was OK, I suppose.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm WR:

Just looked at it Doug. Sweet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Doug Schulkind:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm fred:

@Doug: all that Yoga is making it hard for 100 to know where to stare
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm WR:

Did not know of Braith's recordings until first heard him on Little Danny's Cool Blue Flame earlier this year.
Avatar 2:47pm Stork, or Wolfgang, as the case may be:

Danny's show is great. He packs a mean plylist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Doug Schulkind:

@fred
Doing a lot less yoga since the Trump virus took hold. The yoga-by-video is not very appealing.
