Kind of like taking your parents record collection and getting drunk in a Radio Shack. Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Garage Punk, Regular Punk and Old-Fashioned Weirdos. Hopefully you have the patience for this fast-paced sonic impatience. Not recommended for the fan of 4 minute songs.

Avatar 2:04pm Mr Fab:

Please tell me there's a story behind that pic of jungle room wrestlin wimmin..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Franco Twinkie:

Oh yeah!
Avatar 2:06pm Mr Fab:

When i was a young 'un, i only knew this version. Didn't hear the Sabbath orig til years later. i didn't know much about "classic rock."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Franco Twinkie:

I just know that this guy shoved pencils into the speakers of his amp.
Avatar 2:12pm Mailman Tom:

@Mr. Fab. You didn't miss much. Black Sabbath sucked live. Wish I had gone to see the Dickies instead.
Avatar 2:14pm Mr Fab:

Ha, yeah saw The Dickies live several times. Not on purpose, they just always seemed to open for everyone: X, Pil, etc. Always a good time, esp when the "Stewart" phallus-puppet would show up to "sing."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Franco Twinkie:

I didn't see Black Sabbath, but I did see The Dickies at The Whisky in 1978. VOM opened the show. A band made up entirely of rock critics. The drummer had a bath towel folded neatly on top of his head.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Rich in Washington:

I adore VOM.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Franco Twinkie:

VOM was very good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Rich in Washington:

I think VOM's Richard Meltzer is currently living in Portland, but I am not sure. I know he was. I made a feeble attempt years ago to get in touch with him and see if he'd want to guest on my radio show.
Avatar 2:18pm Mailman Tom:

There's a head shop right up the street from me. They tell me it's the largest head shop in New England!
Avatar 2:19pm recordrouletteclub:

HI EVERYBUDDY!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Otis:

I adore Smegma. The band! The BAND! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Rich in Washington:

Ah.. I love to pretend the Misfits drove their van off a cliff after recording this album.
Avatar 2:23pm worldsworstrecords:

A bit late to the show, but hello everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Rich in Washington:

Oh yeah. I've had Smegma's Oblivia on my show and Ju Suk Reate Meate was there. I had plans to have them both on in the pre-Covid days but we just never got around to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Franco Twinkie:

I really like Richard Meltzer a lot. I saw him read with the toast of the L.A. punk scene in a church by MacArthur Park. He was so far ahead of everybody in that bunch.
Avatar 2:25pm Sem:

dj henri, greets, and hello, RRclub, and those who are neither of those.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Rich in Washington:

He's also Borneo Jimmy of The Dictators' song of the same name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Franco Twinkie:

This is a good guitar sound!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm ARB:

Twistanbul!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm ARB:

That could be a premium....
Avatar 2:46pm Mr Fab:

a premium of 'twist' versions of non-twisted songs?
Avatar 2:46pm Mr Fab:

The Easybeats directly led to AC/DC. True fact!
Avatar 2:47pm recordrouletteclub:

There's GOTTA be a record called 'TWISTANBUL"? No?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm ARB:

Twistanbul is ChaChaChanstantinople
Avatar 2:48pm recordrouletteclub:

That's good!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Rich in Washington:
