With billows and blasts from choirs and orchesters
Buskers and talkers
Big bands and squawkers,
the Stork Club has retained its qualities of decaying elegance and dwindling significance since the late 1950s.

On Saturday (September 05) the musician's reps officially confirmed that Gary Peacock is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.

Sad: a fake death report for a jazz musician makes more waves than a true one, and way more than a new release
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Jeff Golick:

Then again: "Media Mass is a parody news site best known for debunking celebrity rumors that never actually circulated. The fictional celebrity death hoaxes they have created have been reported on as fact by several real news sites, most notably after the death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman."

Whoops! Jeff wondered the same thing. I thought the link to "Gary Peacock named sexiest musician alive" was questionable. (Not making that up.)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm fred:

@Martinibomb: Maybe the increased availability of their music online. Not that there's much of an audience for it, but it might loosen the death grip of publishers. Grasping at straws here
