Avatar 9:15am Listener Gregory:

Glad you're back, Jeff. It's cold out there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Jeff Golick:

Thanks, @Listener Gregory. Good to be back, and to see you, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am Jeff Golick:

Has the signal been steady for folks? The internet connection here at home is looking a little wonky.
Avatar 9:18am Stork-A-Ning:

Welcome back, JG!!
Avatar 9:19am StringOFperils:

Stream uninterrupted. Keiki Modorikawa piece intact and unsullied. All quiet on the northern front.
Avatar 9:19am Stork-A-Ning:

Signal fine for the 3 minutes I've been tuned in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am Jeff Golick:

Thanks, @Stork! What'd I miss?
Avatar 9:19am hyde:

seems ok here too
Avatar 9:21am Stork-A-Ning:

You missed two very fine fill-ins, and two very pointless political conventions. Glad to hear your Outness back riding the ether.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am Jeff Golick:

Thanks for the check-ins.
  9:27am DJpeterDE:

Stream is fine
  9:29am DJpeterDE:

30 seconds into M&M and I’m already googling and clicking
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am Jeff Golick:

@Stork: I caught some of the fill-ins, happily. I missed most of the conventions, gladly.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31am Jeff Golick:

@DJpeter -- I'm having trouble connecting to the Cafe Oto site, but TakuRoku is their "lockdown label." Also, Mwamba's Bandcamp subscription is one of the best deals going.

With Frankie - Mary crated ScFi for my money.
Avatar 9:32am Stork-A-Ning:

You chose wisely, Jeff.

Hello, @Revolution Rabbit Nov63!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33am Doug Schulkind:

Welcome back, welcome home, Jeff Golick!
Avatar 9:34am Listener Gregory:

This instrumental combination doesn't SEEM unusual, but I can't think of another recording with a vibes and sax duo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am Jeff Golick:

Sir @Doug! It's really really really good to be back.
  9:36am DJpeterDE:

@LG agreed. Dozens of bands with those two and others, but just duos?
  9:37am DJpeterDE:

@jeff thanks for both tips. Bandcamp Friday is coming...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39am Jeff Golick:

Re this Dargaville Futurist Club, here's a description: "a live recording of Takiwira avant-garde improv group Dargaville Futurist Club, performing in an obscure run-down venue/hut in the middle of the countryside east of their hometown, affectionately dubbed The Ancestors Club.

This live performance recording sees the group performing for an intimate crowd of eight people, conjuring what they call 'Psychedelic Wairua Music'..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40am Jeff Golick:

I mean, if that doesn't set the heart racing...
Avatar 9:40am TDK60:

A way-out hut.
Avatar 9:44am StringOFperils:

Yep, I count 8.
  9:46am DJpeterDE:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am Jeff Golick:

Thanks, @doctorjazz! Good to see you!
Avatar 9:56am Listener Gregory:

Sun Ra is unpredictable, but I have to say that I did not predict this was Sun Ra before I checked the playlist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am Jeff Golick:

Yeah, @LG. Yet another surprising angle.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59am WR:

Dargaville Futurist Club or Svein Finnerud Trio had swishing percussion sounds that was made me look around on the street for where the sound was coming from.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am doctorjazz:

I see the RIP, I hadn't heard about Grossman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am Jeff Golick:

I think that was Dargaville, @WR.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01am Jeff Golick:

@doc: I found this to be a good (and unusually unsentimental) write-up on Grossman: ethaniverson.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am doctorjazz:

That melody...Alabama? (Trane)?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am Jeff Golick:

Echoes of, in the bass line...?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18am redkayak:

@Jeff - was that band spelled Chumbawamba - that you mentioned on bandcamp?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18am redkayak:

It was recorded as Theme from Black Orpheus by Art Blakey (with Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan; LG @10:26)
