Favoriting September 11, 2020: id m theft able - July 31st and Watermelon Sticky

July 31st and Watermelon Sticky

There's a strand of Christmas lights dangling in a tree by the side of the road on my drive home. It's a pretty small strand, maybe 20 small lights at most, many different colors, all blinking at different times. Actually sometimes there seems to be a rhythm to it. Sometimes they blink more, sometimes less, sometimes not at all. I think that's right. I suspect they must be battery powered because they're so far from any house I can't imagine someone's plugging them in, and, occasionally when I drive by they're not on. But most of the time they are. They're there year round, barely visible with the leaves unfurled in the summer, popping out in the bleak white landscape in the winter. Every time I drive past them I feel a little bit better about everything. I don't know why.

This video is what happened when I decided to park across the street from the Christmas lights with my camera and make a little movie. The Christmas lights do not appear at all.
