@Joe B: I was one of those who didn't entirely appreciate it, and I loved everything Lyte did up till then. I've clearly come around, and I'm the better for it.
funny now i look at a MC Lyte best of on discogs and eyes are the soul and a couple others that weren't singles from Act are on there, so maybe I am wrong!

Little Danny:
Hey GF and friends
8:14pm
Andres:
Uncle Michael - Jinx! I usually hear melodies more than lyrics but that one just exploded front and centre!
Oh, I liked that "weird" piece, it just made me super nervous. Now I'm just regular nervous. And...wondering if it might still be out there, waiting...
omg. When I was 13 I fell asleep with the FM station on, one speaker near my head, and woke up terrified with the woman whispering in my ear. It's all nervous music for me tonight. Aaagh! This is the part!
@Traderbeck: Better every day, physically at least.
9:07pm
Andres:
Little Danny - Lyric v melody. I can barely string together the verses of a Beatles song I have heard a million times. People singing along to an unintelligible vocal at a metal show amaze me! Sometimes I have a moment of zen and am present with the lyrics even it if it is for only a line or two.
@Andres: I have been 'musical' my whole life - & also very wordy in a way - but the two somehow don't always come together... I kind of relate to music with my emotions - & my guitar...

Darlene McCrea and BossaKinks every week!

I always like to say until we meet again instead of farewell???...:)
Gaylord! Just tuning in now. We're on the psychic DJ wavelength again. I played that exact 10cc song last week on my show, except it was the acoustic version from 1995, and I also played Mary Lattimore, but a different song. Also, <3
@Joe: It's a popular sentiment these days. VT isn't the easiest place to live. Economic opportunity is tough. I have 3 part-time jobs not exactly by choice. But, there's a decent ethos of social welfare here, and I mostly like the politics. Then there's all the other stuff, like it's pretty, lots of farms, so good food. There are two community radio stations within 30 minutes of where I'm sitting. Etc.
Was kind of thinking sea level rise might give me new interesting neighbors here in New Hampshire - but maybe the schedule will be moved up even more...

Always the concept of a WFMU cult compound - perhaps now a huge Soviet style concrete series of physical distancing apartments...
RevRabbit: I left town for NYC right around when the Tinderbox was in full effect. I was there a few times, though, including to see the little plywood cubbies where people slept. Tinderbox, indeed!
Yes, definitely! I was lucky to have a friend back in the day who had their albums. Oh, and while I'm typing, Death is sooooooo gd good. Wish I knew about them back in the day.
@Joe: Death's son/nephew lives in Burlington and has a band called Rough Francis, so here's more math: Death + Vermont = Rough Francis, more or less. :-)

Listener comments!
@phat: I respectfully disagree — quiet and slow =/= soft.
@CC: Bon appétit!
