A three-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm

Fuck, I don't THINK someone from XTC died - did they? Nothing about it on Wikipedia. This could just be our Rich enjoying some XTC. For which no excuse is needed, frankly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm
solo mon:

Sometimes you have to enjoy things before someone dies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm
ironybread:

solo mon: Quite right. In my opinion the best way for us to do this would be to make XTC play the Hollywood Bowl. I mean Christ can you fucking imagine

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm
ultradamno:

If not I think playing that many songs of an act in a row could bring a death on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh yeah, ultradamno, like a hipster version of the film I Buy The Living; a dj accidentally does a death tribute to someone and then they actually die. I'm hearing a radio play!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm
Rich in Washington:

I think Station Manager Ken has tried on multiple occasions to bring about the premature death of Bob Dylan.

That XTC set was a nice reminder I should not only listen to them more but also their scruffier cousins as it were - Cleaners From Venus. If I don't remember wrong Andy Partridge actually produced an album of theirs which is funny given how polished XTC is and how decidedly lo-fi Cleaners From Venus sounds at times
