  12:05pm Peter in SEA:

I'm planning on an FMU kinda day out here in the sunny PNW.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm PMD:

Great to be here while I do mindless data entry
Avatar 12:06pm cuteCloud:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Itzall Hear:

PMD, I second that! Great to be here whilst posting and linking up web content...mindless? Maybe not, but darn close!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm mndave:

Hi Pseu and all! Beautiful and gut-punching start.
Avatar 12:08pm cuteCloud:

let out a very small fart...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm WoodsOfNH:

@cuteCloud C# will do that to a person
Avatar 12:10pm cuteCloud:

  12:12pm prudy:

wow, would not have guessed this is the innocence mission...but lovely as usual...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Chop Scott:

Good Afternoon Pseu!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm WoodsOfNH:

This reminds me of The Sundays. Lovely.
  12:13pm Mike tp:

thanks Pseu for unknown pop to me anyway...
  12:14pm pgalub:

Yay Pseu! Always loved Don Peris's guitar sound.
Avatar 12:14pm cuteCloud:

stinky AND wiggly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm Andrew_in_WI:

This song is about his penis, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm Carmichael:

It's about his dog.
  12:15pm Peter in SEA:

Has there been a Harry Nilsson cover album?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Carmichael:

Yes, For The Love of Harry.
  12:18pm Peter in SEA:

thanks @Carmichael, now I remember Amy Mann's One...wow Ringo and Stevie Nicks did a song.
Avatar 12:18pm Little Danny:

Best Coast vibes.
  12:20pm Isurewood:

Another Nilsson cover, played on Scotts show yesterday...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm West Trenton Vinnie:

I'm getting in the shower to floss my teeth and listen to Pseu.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Carmichael:

It's from the TV special called The Point. Everyone had a pointed head except the little boy Oblio. He spent time running around with his dog Arrow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Mike Sin:

re: Honeybus
I picked up a comp of theirs back in the early 1990s just to get a few tracks that I heard and liked. Man, what an eye opener -- they are such a strong band from start to finish! So many great trax.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Carmichael:

@Peter, and Fred Schneider did the most rockin' version of Lime in the Coconut anyone would want to hear.
Avatar 12:22pm cuteCloud:

he was looking for his point :')
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Hughie Considine:

"Coconut" is notable for being built on a single chord.
  12:25pm Peter in SEA:

Oooh, I'll listen to that! @Carmichael.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm Hughie Considine:

This is absolutely my favorite song by Veronica Falls. "Driving late at night/I let you listen to the music you like" is just a heart-stirring lyric.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Ike:

Hi Pseu!

This Veronica Falls is a big favorite of mine too. Was just going to comment on the same lyric!

  12:32pm Peter in SEA:

Is there a male equivalent name to Karen...? Is it Kyle?
Avatar 12:32pm cuteCloud:

Kevin ?
Avatar 12:33pm Little Danny:

There was a good Decoder Ring ep on the "Karen" phenomenon. It was posited that there was no precise male equivalent.
Avatar 12:35pm cuteCloud:

I rem him in the High Dials
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm Krys O.:

Chad?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm WoodsOfNH:

Heck, last Wednesday seems like 5 years ago.
Avatar 12:36pm Pseu Braun:

HEY ALL!
  12:36pm scott:

...watched the Mick Ronson, and the Peter Green documentaries yesterday, both recommended. Had never heard the Munich commune story before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm Itzall Hear:

The "roller rink" music always makes me smile, no matter what kind of day I'm having otherwise. Thank you, Pseu.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm unpopularfred:

It's this simultaneous feeling that last year was 5 years ago, but also holy crap, August is two days away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Bill in W.O.:

There's gonna be a Go-Go's documentary on Showtime beginning tomorrow night, getting pretty good preview notices, FWIW. Great stuff so far Pseu. James Holt +
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm WoodsOfNH:

Aw man, I love Marshall Crenshaw. His live record is so good, with that cool cover of "Knowing Me Knowing You"
  12:44pm Steve Harsh:

LOVE Marshall Crenshaw, such a talented man
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Krys O.:

I saw Crenshaw at the Left Bank in Mt. Vernon in the early 80s. Great fun.
  12:45pm Websie:

The Crensh! Sorry to be late, i was finishing DINNER AT EIGHT (1933, Cukor).
Avatar 12:47pm Pseu Braun:

@websie - NICE! always good to see ya.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Barney Grubbs:

The drummer from Veronica Falls died a few years ago. One of the singers is making some electro pop stuff as Patience, but I haven’t given it a listen yet: patienceworld.bandcamp.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Itzall Hear:

I am not at all familiar with this band, "Spiraling" but this is definitely hitting me right where it should. No, not THERE.
Avatar 12:49pm Feldpausch:

So many excellent "Things with Hooks"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Krys O.:

Dinner at Eight is fantastic.
  12:51pm Peter in SEA:

Those depression dramedies are so good @websie anything with Carole Lombard or a Barrymore is worth seeing twice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm chris_in_space:

Hello DJ. Hello all. Are we there yet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Kat in Chicago:

I remember coworkers but miss very few of them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Krys O.:

I'm in an office in Roseland, NJ with co-workers as I type. Just ate my peanut butter & jelly sandwich on 15 grain bread while at my desk. Even answered the phone with sangwich chewings moved to the cheek to speak.
  1:05pm Claire from Montclair:

Hi! Great show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Sweet Corn Lizzie:

Hello Pseu and hook folks.

I was sure Come to Me was a Who song I didn't know!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Carmichael:

I ain't sayin' nuthin' ....
  1:27pm scott:

KO, google image 'Chipmunk Cheeks' :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Krys O.:

Ha! Scott, I had a bad habit as a kid of being a slow eater and would pocket food. Mom would walk me to kindergarten and ask, "What are you chewing?" Breakfast, I'd answer. I also was a picky eater and would feign chewing food I disliked only to spit it out into the napkin. I'm adept at chipmunk cheek maneuvers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Krys O.:

BTW--To follow up last week's cheese curds theme, I purchased some from Target with my grocery delivery. I liked 'em. I'd probably find the really premium quality curds out of this world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm WoodsOfNH:

I love the Juniper record. One of my favs of the previous (or was it the one before that?) Bandcamp pigout.
  1:39pm scott:

I am making my own sauerkraut, fermentation dabbling. Got this book 'The Art of Fermentation', might just be the way to feed the people of Earth, but not their pets!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Krys O.:

Scott, my mom made sauerkraut as well as pickles. Nothing like homemade. Enjoy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Michele with One "L":

We really are working on it. There's only a few people sending stuff out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Michele with One "L":

Hope some of you have gotten your swag already!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Krys O.:

I ordered some bags from the WFMU store and was so happy to receive them the other day. Lots of great shirts available too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm colinmahns:

got my stuff on monday michele! thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm chris_in_space:

Cousin Oliver is an amazing band name, at least as far as this Gen X'er is concerned.
  1:46pm Fletchernyc:

I had a dream about Jeff Sullivan and Drivin’ and Cryin’ the other night... crazy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm colinmahns:

i'm local to the station though, usps didn't have to take it too far :)
Avatar 1:46pm Pseu Braun:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm full metal monkey:

I can’t wait to get mine. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Bill in W.O.:

I got my WFMU stuff Monday, too. Thanks!
  1:48pm Big Adam:

I recognize this guys voice - is this the guy from Ruby Free? I know nothing about that band but liked them a lot, probably heard them on WFMU anyway
Avatar 1:49pm Pseu Braun:

yes, Rick of Ruby Free

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Carmichael:

Avatar 2:00pm hypothete:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Kat in Chicago:

Not a bad time to eat some fermented food, apparently www.eatthis.com... Got me some kraut, now trying to figure out how to work kimchi into my dietary routine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Kat in Chicago:

Avatar 2:12pm hypothete:

Thanks @Krys, just looked him up and wow, what a story.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Krys O.:

I start my day with yogurt for breakfast and have kombucha after dinner. Strengthen that biome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm swivs:

I found a sandwich from 3 weeks ago under my desk with some green stuff on it. That's "fermented", right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm full metal monkey:

@swivs if it’s green it’s healthy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Hughie Considine:

I would like to point out that Trader Joe's Everything but the Bagel Nut Duo w/Almonds and Cashews is worth your time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm swivs:

@full metal monkey ...wha? **wipes green stuff off mouth, half-eaten sandwich in hand**
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Carmichael:

I'm feeling a little green at the moment, so I must be healthy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Hughie Considine:

In re: the Lickerish Quartet, I'm reminded of Jerry Garcia's quote: “We're like licorice. Not everybody likes licorice, but the people who like licorice really like licorice.”
  2:23pm scott:

...or Vulcan, ...or Orion.
  2:24pm ww:

Pseu I want to personally thank you for breaking the glass ceiling when it comes to on-air discussions of farting through the mesh in your Aero chair.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm full metal monkey:

Love lickerish. Lol
  2:25pm ww:

Can you get a radio grammy for that sort of thing?
  2:26pm scott:

Are suggesting 'the glASS bottom'?
  2:28pm Jace:

Jacob, where did you put my casserole dish?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Michele with One "L":

@full metal monkey - I just emailed you re:swag
  2:28pm scott:

Come to think of it, flatulence is just a little more fermentation, a little more of a good thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm full metal monkey:

@michele. Thanks. I answered back
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Hughie Considine:

After certain types of intestinal surgery, farts are extremely welcome because they indicate that the plumbing is all connected and working correctly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Michele with One "L":

can you resend email I didn't get it....
  2:32pm scott:

Oh, but be careful with that glass-bottom boat.
  2:33pm ww:

Hughie, that is the same thing I heard from our plumber - you want your drain to "gurgle",,,,
  2:34pm ww:

And I don't know whether we have covered home repair yet in Hookerville.......
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Hughie Considine:

Hey, surgery is surgery? Seriously, my best friend is a surgeon and he always understood cars in the same way as he ended up understanding the human body.
  2:36pm scott:

It's good if your studs are plumb, and your plumbing is, well.
  2:37pm ww:

OK here we go.....I have seen 2 heart Drs. this summer. One self-identified as a plumber, the other as an electrician. They fixed me good!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Krys O.:

Glad you didn't say "dramma" with a flat A. I hear that on old newsreel/radio shows of yore.
  2:41pm Jake B:

This is my first time listening to WFMU and I can already tell it’s gonna get me through several days to come. I love it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Carmichael:

@Krys, that's also how Bobby Bittman pronounces it.

@Jake B, welcome!
  2:43pm scott:

KO, what have you found to be good kombucha?
  2:44pm ?:

@Krys.O 1:29 A classmate in kindergarten and I thought it was cute to wrap our 2 graham crackers in the napkin and then use the paper from the straw to tie a little ribbon. This would then go in the jacket pocket for later. later never happened and one time my mom found several "packets "and crumbs in the pocket. No more.
  2:45pm ww:

Jake B, a lot of extremely cool content, many fabulous Dee-Jays, all of it addictive.
Avatar 2:46pm Pseu Braun:

  2:46pm ww:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Hughie Considine:

@ww may your good health continue! Welcome to Hook Heaven, @Jake B.
  2:47pm ww:

Bestest DJ ever....
  2:48pm ww:

Thanks Hughie. I want to live long enough to meet Carmichael...in CA! You know, on the way to the grandkid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Krys O.:

@?: Sounds like you were researching food storage.

@Scott: I like the Health-Ade brand. Others can be watery. Health-Ade has a good amount of fizz and my favorite flavor is blood orange-carrot-ginger.
  2:49pm ww:

SoW, are grandparents allowed to listen to Pseu? It might be off-limits, probably illegal, certainly inappropriate....
  2:50pm scott:

Sounds good, KO; I'm on it! Thank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Bill in W.O.:
