I love how he vocally italicized *visitors* ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@solo - Yeah!!! <raises fist>
Avatar 7:03pm BC Sterrett:

Is this in correlation with the Pentagon admitting that UFOs are real?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Otis Fodder:

This is gonna be a good hour. Hey BC, welcome aboard the UFO!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Also, why are there no flying cups? How are aliens supposed to have a decent cup of tea?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Rich in Washington:

I'm so excited! Flying saucer stuff is right up my street!
Avatar 7:05pm spacebrother:

@ BC- Lucky timing!

Hey Rich, GG, Otis, Solo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you BC!!! So glad you enjoyed it <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm Otis Fodder:

I only know the version by Henri, this Dutch version is great too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm Rich in Washington:

The Pascagoula story scared the crap out of me as a kid.
Avatar 7:08pm BC Sterrett:

This Dutch version is new to me as well!
Avatar 7:09pm spacebrother:

The version was sent to Mr. Fab courtesy of Jan Turkenburg!
Avatar 7:10pm spacebrother:

A few "Martian" songs for awhile here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I think I might transfer to The Chair of Arms and relax with headphones :-)
Avatar 7:12pm spacebrother:

This modern retro should have come later. Oh well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ahhh ... Relaxing with headphones :-)
Avatar 7:14pm spacebrother:

@ GG - Enjoy!
Avatar 7:16pm spacebrother:

There should be an essay on the way all aliens sounded like chipmunks in the 1950s-70s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I can have the headphones up loud and not disturb anyone as it's after midnight here ;-) Win/win :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Greg - I was just typing to ask you why that was! You must have heard me ;-)
Avatar 7:18pm spacebrother:

@ GG - Psychic connection!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm Rich in Washington:

Back in the day when the only studio effect was slowing or speeding up the tape, and flanging.
Avatar 7:18pm spacebrother:

Cheap Buchanan and Goodman ripoff. They actually say something about it at the end.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Greg - Miiiiiiind melllllllllld. Bwah-ha-ha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm Rich in Washington:

Does anyone make Break-In records anymore? In the same style as Dickie Goodman, like with contemporary hit songs? Is it even possible?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Rich - good question! The last ones I remember we're late 70s/ early 80s?
Avatar 7:20pm spacebrother:

@ Rich - I guess anything smaller than 3 feet was chipmunk voice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Also ... Where did the "green men" thing come from?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm Rich in Washington:

That moment when I learned that the audio effect Flanging took its name from an actual studio technique where an engineer would apply pressure to the flange of a tape reel to slow it down on one reel of two in-sync reels.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm Rich in Washington:

Absinthe!
Avatar 7:22pm spacebrother:

@ Rich -Taught me something new today. Today is a good day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The green alien fairy! Lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Nowt wrong with a bit of flange ;-)
Avatar 7:23pm spacebrother:

I LOVE absinthe.
Avatar 7:24pm spacebrother:

@ GG - Never!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm Rich in Washington:

Has anyone here read the biography of Dicky Goodman that was written by his son?
Avatar 7:26pm spacebrother:

@ Rich - He actually predated Art Bell with a late night show that discussed UFOs and other weirdness. I'd like to read it.
Avatar 7:26pm solo mon:

Beercans waddling around
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm Rich in Washington:

Dicky Goodman? Really? I didn't know that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

So ...... The aliens were the size of beer cans but he "fled in terror"? Lol!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I imagine he was heckled quite a bit because he ran away from a beer can ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Loving it so far!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm Otis Fodder:

Syd Lawrence was awesome. A cover of B&G!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm Otis Fodder:

... or not cover, but hommage, adaptation or whatever, it was cool cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I Hear A New World is a FABULOUS album :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm Rich in Washington:

Radio means never having to say you're sorry for playing Joe Meek.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm Otis Fodder:

Lots of Sky Men and Sky Women and Sky People and Sky Cats agree that this album is out of this world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

So, the Pentagon said a couple of days ago that they had an announcement, but I can't find anything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Were they announcing that they were going to make an announcement about announcing something? Was that the general gist? ;-)
Avatar 7:37pm spacebrother:

They were announcing that they had pieces of crashed UFOs. Or so they say.
Avatar 7:37pm spacebrother:

It's very complicated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Also (I have a lot of questions today!) do we talk about Martians because Mars is the most habitable out of the planets aside from ours? Is it more feasible that someone/thing would be living there?
Avatar 7:39pm spacebrother:

@ GG - Not likely. Maybe billions of years ago when there was water.
Avatar 7:39pm spacebrother:

Molllie Thompson makes me cry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Greg - this is one of those subjects that I don't know a lot about, so find fascinating :-) The origins of things like Martians for example. Why not Venusians (which is fun to say)? :-)
Avatar 7:42pm Mr Fab:

GG: Maybe cuz HG Well's "War of the Worlds" featured an invasion of Martians, as he called them, and that created the sci-fi alien template that continues today?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Mr Fab - aha! That makes sense!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm Rich in Washington:

It's fun to read about people like George Adamski, Daniel Fry, Orfeo whatsisname, etc. All these people claimed that they met people from nearly every planet in our solar system and even took trips there themselves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm Otis Fodder:

Bosstones... so that must have been where Sesame Street's Roosevelt Franklin record got Mobity Mosely's Months from. Wowie Zowie!
Avatar 7:43pm spacebrother:

Mars was looked at as a place where there would be aliens because 1) It was close and 2) The discovery of what astromomers thought were "canals" on the planet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I just Googled "most habitable planet after Earth" and it gave me Titan, which is unfortunate for naming the inhabitants!
Avatar 7:43pm spacebrother:

in the 19th century. But it was just bad optics on the telescopes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Rich in Washington:

But we all know that the only other habitable planet is Saturn, where Sun Ra and the Arkestra come from.
Avatar 7:45pm spacebrother:

@ Rich - YES.
Avatar 7:45pm BC Sterrett:

This is weird but my dad found a pencil portrait of someone in prison or something, it doesn't have a signature but think I just found the man in the picture. I'm meeting him at a Wal-Mart parking lot to give it to him. If I don't show up on the radio tomorrow, this is the last thing I did. lol
Avatar 7:45pm Mr Fab:

Rich: the Rick Dees radio show used to do Dickie Goodman-style break-in routines, at least in the '90s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@BC - that is WILD!!!!!
Avatar 7:46pm BC Sterrett:

My dad found it in his basement and gave it to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm Rich in Washington:

I just now googled and saw that his son Jon does modern Break-In records.
Avatar 7:47pm spacebrother:

I co-wrote a book on UFO cultists last year: www.amazon.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm Rich in Washington:

Maybe it's actually a map to buried loot, BC!
Avatar 7:47pm spacebrother:

@ BC - Woah.
Avatar 7:47pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks for the show DJ Greg! i may have to catch the rest in the archives. I'll post the picture in facebook group.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Rich in Washington:

I need to get that, spacebrother! It looks fantastic! The excerpts Adam's been posting on the blog are something else. This is very much up my alley.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Otis Fodder:

Thanks for the reminder SB... just added to my wish list to pickup the book, been meaning to.
Avatar 7:48pm Mr Fab:

BC: meetng an ex-con in a parking lot - what could go wrong?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Rich in Washington:

Bring a big burly guy with you, BC!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Otis Fodder:

BC, we need to set you up with a 3rd show. BC's Story Hour!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I watched this programme once about people who'd experienced weird things. One guy was shot in a freak accident (he was fine) but the bullet's serial number was birthday and the company name was his surname.
And this other guy's car broke down in the middle of nowhere so he walked to find a telephone booth. As he approached it the phone was ringing so he picked it up, and it was his office. And the number of the telephone booth was his employee number.
I love shows like that :-)
Avatar 7:52pm spacebrother:

@ GG - Me too. Of COURSE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

What a fabulous show! I've thoroughly enjoyed this :-)
Avatar 7:55pm Mr Fab:

two shows in a row playing Judy Garland...hmm, something you want to tell us, Greg? ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The Judy love is strong!
Avatar 7:56pm spacebrother:

Friend of Judy.
Avatar 7:57pm spacebrother:

Dorothy is think is the proper term.
Avatar 7:57pm spacebrother:

LOL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm Otis Fodder:

Watch the skies everyone... and don't forget yer towels. Thanks Greg, see ya in a future week.
Avatar 7:59pm spacebrother:

Thanks Otis!
Avatar 7:59pm Mr Fab:

but my mom and sis are named Dorothy. nuthin wrong with being friends of them.

And boom, this show is ready to take off to parts unknown. tThanks, for the space set Spacebrother! And we'll see you all for Otis' show tomorrow.
Avatar 7:59pm spacebrother:

And thank you, GG!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Seventeen billion thumbs up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm Rich in Washington:

Wonderful show, spacebrother!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

From Google: The song was written and sung by Leslie Eaton (pictured left); with Blanche Fubar (harmony vocal); Shlemant Bugerknight (violin); Billy X. Curmano (harmonica); Kelly Coyle (guitar); Stu Mathews (bass guitar); Peter Stenshoel (piano, arrangement, production);, with assistance from Jerry Stearns.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

:-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm Rich in Washington:

oh, now I wanna hear your Bill Moore turns you onto The Bosstones story!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm Rich in Washington:

I have damned few UFO music records, but plenty of people talking about UFOs on record records.
Avatar 8:04pm spacebrother:

@ Rich - Let's talk!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04pm Rich in Washington:

Wow. The power's going out here. That's some show you're doing, Greg!
