Avatar 1:57pm solo mon:

Hi ARB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Otis Fodder:

I'm here, there and not everywhere or really there for that matter. Here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Otis Fodder:

I put this on my to-do list scheduler. Let's go!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm ARB:

Hi Oats and Solo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm ARB:

Ooh, I made the list!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Oats Fodder:

Oh yes, changed my name accordingly for the festivities!
Avatar 2:02pm solo mon:

Ha they were just talking abt Firesign on drummers chat
Avatar 2:02pm Linda Lee:

firesign!! bravo! wow. hi!
Avatar 2:02pm Linda Lee:

i think we're all bozos on this board.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Oats Fodder:

They were, just like 20min ago. Both Solo and I came over from the Drummer stream and Uncle Michael's show.

Hi LL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm ARB:

Avatar 2:03pm Linda Lee:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm ARB:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm ARB:

Chresti! Yes!

  2:06pm mzzm:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm chresti:

  2:07pm mzzm:

Avatar 2:07pm solo mon:

mzzm it’s from a dada ballet called the triangle
  2:08pm mzzm:

Thanks! eha ! Dada!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm ARB:

Hi mzzm@
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm ARB:

We're going to see the entire ballet over the next 2 hours
Avatar 2:09pm solo mon:

The ballet itself is very old, this is an 80s production of it. You would think the costumes are updated, but they are actually very close to the original costumes!
Avatar 2:10pm solo mon:

ARB very exciting!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Oats Fodder:

Fantastic!
Avatar 2:11pm solo mon:

I am loving this show love love love ing
Avatar 2:12pm Linda Lee:

trapped again! wish to sit & hear instead of leaving the room to get my work done. curses!
Avatar 2:12pm Linda Lee:

alas i must ~ lest i wake up yet again tomorrow in terror at my sloth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm ARB:

Thanks for dropping in Linda Lee!
Avatar 2:14pm solo mon:

I’m so glad you are playing a fowl song for frame duggy sake ;-)
  2:14pm mzzm:

Arb I love how you r splitting up the gifs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Franco Twinkie:

Okay, I'm seen trails.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Oats Fodder:

This feels like ARB rolled into Solo's town, but with a Sorbet Truck and now the Ice Cream and Sorbet trucks roll through quiet streets together serving serving serving songs.
Avatar 2:24pm solo mon:

Great transition!
Avatar 2:25pm solo mon:

She done showed up with an affogato cart!
Avatar 2:26pm solo mon:

Affogatto to do anything because this radio show is so damn good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Oats Fodder:

My kinda raid on the eee o.
  2:28pm mzzm:

I heard '70's SOHO artists longed form art scenes in 30's -- lot to learn from them.
Avatar 2:30pm solo mon:

I am deceased. That was amazing.
  2:31pm mzzm:

with that music, it's quite trippy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm chresti:

That's a nice costume, with the elongated head.
Avatar 2:35pm solo mon:

The range of movement for each costume is a feat!
Avatar 2:36pm Linda Lee:

i don't remember a lot of talk about the 30s at the time, mzzm. but there was lots going on.. lots to talk about.
  2:36pm mzzm:

Dada inspires a lot of ideas but nail right one takes a life.
Avatar 2:36pm solo mon:

I think this artist beate karlsson is influenced by this ballet. I love finding common reference even if it isn’t on purpose. bubblegumclub.co.za...
Avatar 2:37pm Linda Lee:

as i remember we were basically fully involved in a sort of postmodern aesthetic ~ new. didn't harken back that much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Franco Twinkie:

This is probably not germane at the moment Alina, but what the heck. In todays L.A. Times there is a piece about a cannibal mummy in Thailand. Sad and funny at the same time.
  2:39pm mzzm:

about 'Babies', i rather veers to puppet show/ art seem better.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm ARB:

Hi Franco! The LA Times always cock blocks me for not paying for a subscription, but I gotta look into that
Avatar 2:42pm solo mon:

mzzm yes she is more naïf and organic, the triangulation ballet is cleaner, refined.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Franco Twinkie:

Link forth coming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Franco Twinkie:

Renaldo, I just met a boy named Renaldo!
Avatar 2:56pm solo mon:

I really like the dancer with the nipplyboob arms
Avatar 3:03pm Linda Lee:

must say i like the cymbal player with the wiener legs
Avatar 3:04pm Linda Lee:

ARB, are you sure you couldn't take a new approach to Harvey Matesow?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Rich in Washington:

Hi ARB!

Avatar 3:10pm Linda Lee:

indeed!

i'm laughing joyously right now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Franco Twinkie:

If you are having sex in a tent and you haven't had a bath in a week it might be kind of dirty.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Oats Fodder:

Just got an email last week from Fortyone. His new sample record is out now - "Praise The Lord And Loop The Music" - www.41music.net...
  3:11pm mzzm:

i can't relax...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm chresti:

Oats, cool!
Avatar 3:13pm solo mon:

My grandparents were members of the communist party. They even went underground ( lived in a barn in New Hampshire) for a year.
Avatar 3:14pm Linda Lee:

good for them, solo mon!
Avatar 3:14pm solo mon:

Right?! Brave souls
Avatar 3:15pm Linda Lee:

i love this dancer's balls!
Avatar 3:16pm solo mondo:

I heard mommy dearest!
Avatar 3:16pm Linda Lee:

i was just talking with someone about strategies for avoiding coercion if any agency we have is tied to accepting an untested vaccine .. and i told her..
Avatar 3:16pm Linda Lee:

we'll have to look at how people have gone underground in the past. those were brave people.
Avatar 3:17pm Linda Lee:

*very* brave people.
Avatar 3:18pm solo mondo:

Artistic note- first human face seen in this ballet is this lady
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

the courage of cruising queer pirates!
Avatar 3:18pm Linda Lee:

i think the weiner leg man shows his face, no?
Avatar 3:18pm Linda Lee:

that's right Granny!!! courage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm ARB:

I'll be issuing a public apology for playing this song
Avatar 3:19pm Linda Lee:

no need love.
Avatar 3:19pm solo mon:

Oh shoot yep you are right LL
Avatar 3:20pm Linda Lee:

we're startin to wonder about these things. good move to give it some thought.
Avatar 3:21pm solo mon:

Grandma did come out as queer later on. My grandma, that is. Spicy Tuna G can tell er own story ;-)
Avatar 3:21pm Linda Lee:

is that right! beautiful. i'd love to have met them both.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

i think my grandma was queer, too, but never came out. all of her friends sure were queer!
Avatar 3:22pm solo mon:

I was told that grandma and grandpa got divorced “because she wouldn’t quit smoking.” LOLLLL
Avatar 3:23pm solo mon:

Oh it must have been so tough I bet there are so many queers who never got to be public or even explore it
Avatar 3:24pm Linda Lee:

hahah!! well then. :-)
my mother ~ who was basically ace, really ~ had a lesbian relationship when i was in high school. it didn't last long. the woman was really lovely, though.
yes, i'm sure that was it, solo mon. ;-)
  3:24pm mzzm:

just saw Carol. Kate was breath taking there
Avatar 3:25pm Linda Lee:

my mother's brother came out to her after seminary in the early 50s ~~ but honestly, there wasn't any kind of queer consciousness as such at all until the 60s, as i've been told.
Avatar 3:26pm Linda Lee:

you just did what you did & tried your best to avoid arrest, hospitalization or murder. sometimes you got married.
Avatar 3:28pm Linda Lee:

some of us know this, but this same uncle, my mother's youngest brother, brought me to the first gay pride march in new york, a year after stonewall. proud to say so!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

yes, my grandmother married well… and she had a VERY DEVOTED female secretary who i suspect was the real object of my grandmother's affection <3
Avatar 3:28pm solo mon:

mzzm carol is a such a great film. We watch it on regular intervals, so much humanity and sadness in that film
Avatar 3:30pm solo mon:

Oh Linda Lee that’s amazing
Avatar 3:30pm solo mon:

As far as I can tell from mad men that’s what secretaries are for
Avatar 3:30pm Linda Lee:

it was really so nice being raised in a gay crowd in the 1960s. it really was fun! i loved them all madly. & the parade was really nice.
Avatar 3:31pm Linda Lee:

they did not bring me to warhol's factory, though they did know the crowd there. no bragging rights there, unfortunately.
Avatar 3:31pm solo mon:

My grandma, mom and myself have all come out as queer. I was first. Lol.
Avatar 3:32pm Linda Lee:

good for you!!! brava! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm chresti:

My son is the only one in my family that I know of that came out.
Avatar 3:33pm Linda Lee:

i came out as bisexual as soon as there was a word for the way i'd felt since childhood. both the queers & the straights refused to believe i existed! lol
Avatar 3:34pm solo mon:

Darn you ARB all’s ive gotten done the past 2 hours is eat chocolate and feed the cats.
Avatar 3:34pm Linda Lee:

now the language surrounding gender & sexuality is *much* more useful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Franco Twinkie:

Steve likes to hang around in caves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm chresti:

And lives in a trailer.^
Avatar 3:37pm Linda Lee:

trailers are tough in winter ~ & also in summer. i hope his is well sorted!
Avatar 3:37pm solo mon:

You exist Linda Lee! Yeah bi gets a bad rap, does not equal horny for anything
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm ARB:

Chocolate and Cats ain't so bad
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Linda Lee: it is true that if there are no words for your experience, it may be nearly impossible to understand it. Until i heard the word "genderqueer" in the '90s, i wasn't sure why i identified so intensely with queer communities
Avatar 3:39pm Linda Lee:

hahah! no.
now i can basically drop the 'bi' designation as well, since the binary doesn't make sense at all to me, but in 1980 it was binary or nothing. :-D
Avatar 3:39pm solo mon:

ARB also I smoked some weed when you put it all together I did get a lot done
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

LL: these days, pansexual folx have joined forces with the bi communities!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm ARB:

There's an interesting article in the new Harper's about the use of They as a singular pronoun from a linguistics perspective. I got a lot out of it and felt newly energized for evolving language.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

one definition of bisexual i like is, "i am attracted to people who share my gender identity and to people who have a different gender identity"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Franco Twinkie:

Chrestis son first came out to me. He was acting unsettled and I asked him what was wrong. He said "I think I'm gay."I said "Is that all?!?!" I made sure he understood it made no difference to me. I would get mad at him if he put his dirty socks on the dining room table, but never for having sex with other boys.
Avatar 3:41pm Linda Lee:

thank you Granny. well said. language does form thinking as much as thinking dictates language!
the best i can say now is that i'm ace/aro. retired.
Avatar 3:42pm Linda Lee:

that's lovely, Franco. not all young people are so lucky.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm ARB:

Dreaming of Sodomy is a good thing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

LL: keep it simple! :D
Avatar 3:42pm solo mon:

I am sooooooo for finding better ways of describing beyond binary. Makes me so happy to not have to refer to gender in that way. Masculine feminine construct has always bothered me
Avatar 3:42pm solo mon:

This song omg lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm chresti:

Agree, ARB
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Oats Fodder:

Dream of Sodomy. Not lobotomy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm ARB:

Trepanation before lobotomies though
Avatar 3:44pm Linda Lee:

:-)
i'm so glad i don't dream of sodomy. worked that one out some time back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Oats Fodder:

ARB, our minds are connected, ha!
Avatar 3:44pm Linda Lee:

just wait. the language will continue evolving. just as we do!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

i really want to see this dada ballet!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm ARB:

From one Phineas Gage to another Oats
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm Oats Fodder:

Whenever I hear The Eagles, it feels as if Trepanation is being performed.
  3:46pm mzzm:

by any chance, is this ballet video available?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Oats Fodder: i will ponder that next time i am accosted by said band sounds
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm chresti:

Ha Oats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Oats Fodder:

I will too Granny, ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

i realized i couldn't cut it as a KJ because there are too many songs i wouldn't want to play
  3:48pm mzzm:

omg D elffman?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Oats Fodder:

Loved the selections and mixing today ARB. I think now when I think of bullfighting and cheese I will not say ole, I will say Ooooh Layyyyy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm ARB:

I was strongly considering trepanation some 5 years ago until I watched a documentary and saw all the Mello-Dementia victims who achieved their permanently stoned state. I just thought it would help with migraines.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

if i had to hear "Hotel California," "Total Eclipse of the Heart," and "Don't Stop Believin'" every time, i would rebel!
Avatar 3:49pm solo mon:

I would actually go to a karaoke bar like that Granny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm ARB:

Granny you just named 2 of my 3 most hated songs. Journey is #1
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Rich in Washington:

Oh wow, ARB! I used to be obsessed with trepanation too!
I finally figured I needed that like a hole in my head.
Avatar 3:50pm solo mon:

That bullfighting cheese acid trip was my favorite thing I’ve heard since the last favorite thing I heard.

I am very happy you did not go through with it ARB. Read too many stories over the years, but did have a passing interest in the subject years ago, it's fascinating. Just listen to The Eagles or solo Don Henley, will do the trick.
