Avatar 4:59pm Ursula1000:

Mr Fab---check out his Discogs page---insane amount of pseudonyms!
Avatar 5:09pm Mr Fab:

Someone here on Sheena's (was it you, Ursula?) played a really cool early 80s S Mallinder track i had no idea existed. Man those CabVolt dudes got one deeep catalog.
Avatar 5:13pm Mr Fab:

Serge told a funny story about he went to Jamaica to record reggae tracks, but they weren't really getting along. language barrier, plus they didn't really understand why this French dude wanted to work with them. To break the ice, he said: So, do you guys like any French music? No, not really. *Serge sad* Then they said, the only the French song we like is this thing called "Je Taime Moi non Plus." He jumped up and shouted in English, "That's me!"
Avatar 5:14pm Mr Fab:

Then they got along great and recorded some good stuff.

Avatar 5:38pm Ursula1000:

Avatar 5:41pm solo mon:

Hey mrchrispy hows it goin??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Xanadu? OMG.
Avatar 5:42pm MrCrispy:

Whoa, I remember being freeeeaked out watching Xanadu as a little kid (plus being confused later that the gods in books didn't roller skate)
  5:43pm Martinibomb:

@Chrispy I just remember all the girls I knew were totally and completely obsessed by it
Avatar 5:44pm MrCrispy:

@sol I'm ok, hoping some Martinibomb music will distract me from the destruction of society. You?
Avatar 5:44pm solo mon:

mr C - same. Same.
Avatar 5:44pm MrCrispy:

@MB yeah, my sisters loved it
Avatar 5:45pm solo mon:

I’m also waiting for the male stripper remake: Xanadude
Avatar 5:46pm MrCrispy:

Xanadude must already be a thing, right?!
  5:46pm Martinibomb:

I'm waiting for the call feces cast.. Xanapoo
Avatar 5:47pm MrCrispy:

Hahahaha!!!
Avatar 5:47pm solo mon:

I’m waiting for a sleep ensuring remake: Xanaxdu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I think I enjoyed Grease more than Xanadu. But, I've only seen Xanadu once.
Avatar 5:48pm solo mon:

I like the scene where the Tubes perform. That’s abt it. Lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Grease is funner and catchier but Xanadu is waaaaay more inspiring and weird!
Avatar 5:50pm solo mon:

I’d rather watch the Apple over either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Oh yes, The Apple! That film is bonkers.
Avatar 5:50pm solo mon:

Or the tropical fruit remake: Bananadu
Avatar 5:51pm Ursula1000:

The Apple=classic
Avatar 5:51pm solo mon:

I love that we can all agree on the Apple that’s sooo sheenas
Avatar 5:51pm Mr Fab:

Just saw an ad for a law firm geared towards Latinos: “Accidente? Luchadores Legal!” And their phone # was something like 88-Lucha. Ha ha, imagining a firm with lawyers wearing Mexican wrestling masks.
Avatar 5:52pm solo mon:

Lucha Legal I need it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

For disco-ness I do have a fondness for Can't Stop the Music.
Avatar 5:53pm Mr Fab:

Yes, we must make “Bananadu”! An exotica musical! On roller skates.
Avatar 5:54pm solo mon:

Haha sounds like a plan Fab!
Avatar 5:55pm solo mon:

I like CSTM, hopey!
Avatar 5:56pm solo mon:

August Darnell could write the score to Bananadu
Avatar 5:56pm Mr Fab:

Who would score “ Bananadu”? Ursula 1000+ Fred Schneider.
Avatar 5:58pm Ursula1000:

natch!
Avatar 5:58pm Ursula1000:

but Solo's got it...August Darnell!
Avatar 5:58pm Mr Fab:

August Darnell, that’s a great choice - the Coconuts go bananas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Don't be a buncha pineapples!
  6:02pm Martinibomb:

A++ August Darnell! Totally
Avatar 6:02pm MrCrispy:

Really been loving all the music since I tuned in MB - you're on my wavelength!
Avatar 6:03pm solo mon:

I would be more than fine with Ursula and Fred!!!!!!!
Avatar 6:04pm Mr Fab:

Mi gusta Meridian Brothers. Experimental tropical Latin music is def an idea whose time has come.
Avatar 6:05pm solo mon:

I would pay good money to see what U1k and Fred would do with the idea of Bananadu
Avatar 6:05pm solo mon:

Meridian bros do a great cover of purple haze
Avatar 6:07pm Ursula1000:

I can see Fred right now having one of those "ears are burning" moments right now! SO up his alley!
Avatar 6:08pm solo mon:

10000% on board for this. FREDcan you hear us????? (Shouted in a Fred Schneider voice)
Avatar 6:10pm Ursula1000:

we need MB's echo device to properly send those messages in the ether! I have like 8 lyrics sheets from him for a Halloween album we've been meaning to do for ages! Trying to rope in Elvira too. Would be amazing!
Avatar 6:10pm solo mon:

Oh wow! That sounds amazing!
Avatar 6:12pm Mr Fab:

Oh yeah, that would be spook-tacular!
Avatar 6:12pm solo mon:

My religion is a yin yang of Dolly Parton and Elvira
Avatar 6:12pm MrCrispy:

Wait, this is Matt Berry?!
Avatar 6:13pm Ursula1000:

Yes I can hear you Clem Fandango!
Avatar 6:13pm Mr Fab:

Fred did really funny exotica type song called “totally nude island” for a side project that
U1k remixed. I think that would have to go into “bananadu.“
  6:13pm Martinibomb:

Clem fandango are you there
Avatar 6:14pm MrCrispy:

Can you hear me Stephen?
Avatar 6:14pm solo mon:

Underpantzie?!?!
Avatar 6:15pm Ursula1000:

when Clem screws with him a keeps hitting the mute button when he's giving Toast instructions is the funniest thing ever! Toast finally goes...FUUUUUUUUUUUU**!
Avatar 6:16pm MrCrispy:

So good
  6:16pm Martinibomb:

Matt Berry needs to be in Bananadu
Avatar 6:16pm solo mon:

So funny!!!!
Avatar 6:17pm solo mon:

Avatar 6:22pm MrCrispy:

This makes me happy every time
Avatar 6:27pm MrCrispy:

  6:54pm Martinibomb:

I got mine at a truck stop
Avatar 6:56pm MrCrispy:

Funnily enough I first heard De La's Ego Trippin' on a tape I got at a truck stop somewhere inbetween Macon & Savannah
Avatar 6:56pm solo mon:

  6:57pm Martinibomb:

There's no Bananadu for the kids to watch. that's the big problem
