hi Julie! :-)
Avatar 5:21pm Julie P.:

This male vocalist reminds me of Warren Zevon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Gina Bacon:

It's so good to hear punky rock & roll again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Gina Bacon:

I hear that, Julie!
Avatar 5:24pm Julie P.:

Yay, Lilly Hiatt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm Gina Bacon:

I love her! She's been doing some fun live streams from home.
Avatar 5:26pm Julie P.:

I'm a huge fan of her dad John. It's nice to see the apple fall close to the tree.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm doctorjazz:

Lilly Hiatt...and relation?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm doctorjazz:

Julie answered the question.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm Gina Bacon:

She's his daughter, Julie! They collaborated a bit on her album.
  5:27pm CC:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm doctorjazz:

Gina, killing it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm doctorjazz:

Keep your eyes on the road and...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm Gina Bacon:

Thanks, doctorjazz!
Avatar 5:35pm Brian in UK:

Julie P, you bet three out of four are laying. The odd one out is being seriously hen pecked by the older ones. They are getting their feathers back slowly.
If chickens were four feet tall it would be scary, they are quiet primaeval.
Avatar 5:37pm Julie P.:

Brian, I think laying eggs means they're happy! Can you separate the odd one until they settle down?
Avatar 5:37pm Brian in UK:

Quinn DeVeaux, what a great name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm Gina Bacon:

Brian!!
Avatar 5:39pm Brian in UK:

Well until today thy were separated but you have to mix them sometime. Just need to keep a weather eye on them. Animals are so mean to each other but that is nature.
Avatar 5:40pm Julie P.:

Brian - very true.
Avatar 5:40pm Brian in UK:

Julie P, how are you keeping?
Avatar 5:41pm Julie P.:

Brian - hanging in there; so far so good, knock wood! What about you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Doug Schulkind:

I'd like an oyster po' boy to go with this tune.
Avatar 5:43pm Julie P.:

Gina, this is marvelous! Very soulful and funky.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Gina Bacon:

Sounds good, Doug!
Avatar 5:43pm Brian in UK:

The colour of the yolks of the new ones is not as yellow as the old girls and the shells are a little thinner. End of chicken report!

Keeping well here, but as Gina said people are getting slack about keeping distance but not as bad as the US.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Gina Bacon:

Yes! So good!!
Avatar 5:45pm northguineahills:

'Oyster Po Boy' *Homer drools*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm dutchtheo:

Agree, great nola sound, big horns
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Gina Bacon:

northguineahills!
Avatar 5:45pm Julie P.:

Shrimp po' boy for me, please!
Avatar 5:46pm northguineahills:

@Brian: More chicken reports!
Avatar 5:46pm Julie P.:

Hi northguineahills!
Avatar 5:47pm Brian in UK:

ngh, tune in next week for more report!! How's live in Covid County?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Gina Bacon:

It's pretty discouraging, Brian!
Avatar 5:51pm Julie P.:

Brian, these anti-mask yahoos are why we can't have concerts and other nice things.
  5:52pm CC:

Mmmm...good one!!!... rest in peace Bill and John!!
Avatar 5:53pm Brian in UK:

I think that people will be very nervous of going ti concerts for a long time yet.
Aint nothing like hearing it live; though I really enjoy small gigs nowadays.
Avatar 5:53pm northguineahills:

Julie!

@Brian: Some people wear masks, and you can usually tell it's a 'political' decision. (I'm in a GOP heartland for the next week). Orlando (iniside city limits) and Gainesville seems compliant...
Avatar 5:54pm Brian in UK:

ngh, keep you head down, my friend.
Avatar 5:55pm Julie P.:

Brian, many of my musician friends locally are streaming small concerts from local venues. It's something, but it's not quite the same as in person, I agree.
Avatar 5:57pm northguineahills:

I actually hit a noise show two weeks before quarentine. I have no money, but I gave as much to the artists as I could afford.
Avatar 5:58pm Julie P.:

ngh, you're coming to where I live (Orlando/Winter Park), and a lot depends on what part of town you go to. In some parts, people are pretty good, and others, not so much. It helps that many businesses are requiring it. Brian's right; just keep your head down.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Gina Bacon:

They're doing that here. too. The 5 Spot is perfecting their video production skills, buckling down for the long haul.
Avatar 6:00pm northguineahills:

@ Julie: I'm looking for a place in College Park. I noticed once I get to suburbs, it's like Jacksonville-lite (not desireable). I also want to be w/in cycling distance of concert venues. Keep in Touch, can't wait to leave Jax...
Avatar 6:01pm northguineahills:

(I had brothers that have lived in Conway and Winter Gardens the whole time I was in Brooklyn).
Avatar 6:01pm Julie P.:

Many of our local watering holes are doing takeout cocktails, and one of our top local pit masters does BBQ sandwiches from his house for the local out of work musicians and performers and such. People donate to a PayPal link to finance the supplies.
Avatar 6:03pm northguineahills:

(Now they both live in Winter Gardens, but they're are former GOP normies [love them the same]).

@Julie: Lou's, Grumpy's and Wally's are my go-to spots College Park/Milk District
  6:04pm CC:

I like it..!.. Quinn has his own record label???
Avatar 6:04pm Julie P.:

ngh, College Park is very nice but can be pricey these days. Lots of people buying the smaller older houses and tearing them down to put up new. FYI Wally's has undergone a renovation itself if you haven't been here in a bit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm Gina Bacon:

A lot of poeple are releasing their own stuff these days!
Avatar 6:05pm Julie P.:

Yes, Quinn! Love the soulful wail!
Avatar 6:06pm northguineahills:

Yeah, a friend told me a woman bought four blocks of older houses to put up McMansions. but, I found a few decently priced places there.
Avatar 6:09pm Julie P.:

ngh, keep me posted and I'll try to help you however I can. Sometimes you just have to catch a sale at the right time.
Avatar 6:10pm Julie P.:

I've lived here almost continuously since 1968 and am pretty familiar with this area.
Avatar 6:10pm Julie P.:

Slyyyyyyy. Excellent playlist choice!
  6:11pm CC:

Uh huh!!!...no doubt!!...Jeremy says hi and that he is diggin' the tunes, btw...
Avatar 6:12pm northguineahills:

@Julie: you might know a certain proprieter of a cafe (Maxine's) and her friend who runs a gallery (similar name).
Avatar 6:14pm Julie P.:

ngh, I do not know Maxine personally but I do know her establishment. It's just up the road from my favorite dive bar, the Hideaway.
  6:15pm CC:

Damn nice choices Quinn!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm Gina Bacon:

Yes, CC! I'm digging all of this!
Avatar 6:17pm northguineahills:

@Julie: Will check out Hideaway when I get there and it reopens.
Avatar 6:17pm Brian in UK:

How Come My Dog Don't Bark When You Come Around, favourite Dr. John song title.
Avatar 6:18pm Julie P.:

ngh, also check out Will's Pub if you haven't already. Same area as Wally's.
Avatar 6:19pm northguineahills:

well, one can't go wrong w/ these selection (typical understatement by myself).

Oh, I've been to Will's one random night....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm Gina Bacon:

True, northguineahills!
Avatar 6:25pm Julie P.:

This may be my favorite Aretha song of all time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm Gina Bacon:

It might be mine too, Julie!
  6:32pm CC:

Oh yeah this one could fit right back in the 60s great interview Gina thanks for sharing Quinn!!!
Avatar 6:32pm northguineahills:

I hope Quinn takes it as a compliment, but he reminds me of Charles Bradley.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm dutchtheo:

Thanks, Gina and Quinn, i'm going on a short neowise comet hunt, before sleeping
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Gina Bacon:

I'll tell him, northguineahills!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm Gina Bacon:

I'm so glad you dug it, CC!
Avatar 6:33pm northguineahills:

@dutchtheo: I saw neowise this morning! (woke at 5am).
Avatar 6:33pm Julie P.:

Avatar 6:36pm Julie P.:

Good night, Brian!
Avatar 6:39pm Julie P.:

I thought I recognized Steve Earle! That voice is so distinctive.
  6:39pm CC:

I sure hope you can talk old Steve into being a guest someday Gina???
Avatar 6:39pm northguineahills:

If American east coasters get up before dawn, you can't miss Neowise, it's the brightest thing in the sky, slightly bigger then Venus. Unfortunately, this morning, the tail was facing away from earth. It'll be 10 degrees of NE from 4:30 - 6:15am (EDT) above the horizon Nashvillians will be nearly the same time in CDT).
Avatar 6:40pm northguineahills:

West Virginian native reporting!
Avatar 6:40pm Julie P.:

ngh, the problem I've been having is too many clouds!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm Gina Bacon:

Thank you, northguineahills! We've been having foggy mornings...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm Gina Bacon:

Me too, CC! I hope to!
Avatar 6:42pm northguineahills:

@Julie: Yeah, for the last week, up north hear, couldn't see scheisse, except maybe a blur due to clouds and fog, but this morning it was clear. (I've been confused w/ my alarm going off at 5am the last week)
Avatar 6:43pm northguineahills:

Avatar 6:45pm Julie P.:
