Avatar Ken's Last Ever Radio Extravaganza supporter Marathon 2020 9/13/17 5:13pm fred:

I hope it held up well to your ears. I have a very fond memory of it (I mean the Paris show, not the D&D)
Avatar 9/13/17 5:18pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

My note says it was my favorite of that tour. Still wonder what it will be like to bring it out to a radio environment like this. Still not online!

~~~~~
There are three characteristic ways in which the energy manifests – Dang, Rolpa, and Tsal.
Dang is the energy in which ‘internal’ and ‘external’ are not divided from that which manifests. It is symbolised by the crystal sphere which becomes the colour of whatever it is placed upon.
Rolpa is the energy which manifests internally as vision. It is symbolised by the mirror. The image of the reflection always appears as if it is inside the mirror.
Tsal is externally manifested energy which radiates. It is symbolised by the refractive capacity of the faceted crystal. For a realised being, this energy is inseparable in its manifestation from the dimension of manifest reality. Dang, Rolpa, and Tsal are not divided.
Avatar 9/13/17 5:45pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
@Rich: Go back for it! So so dreamy, gosh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:05pm Carmichael:
The first whole, actually. You missed all of 2005.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:05pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I've gotta clicky star it
Avatar 9/13/17 6:07pm geezerette:
sounds like a pork eclipse now.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:08pm geezerette:
...ham is good with pancakes & syrup.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:09pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
oh I wonder if the pancake conversation continued in 2004
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:10pm listener james from westwood:
I know the focus is on Rummy bollixing the Shanksville part, but I also keep hearing "death hall in Mosul" vs. "mess hall." Maybe too much aspartame for him that day.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:10pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Me too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:11pm listener james from westwood:
Whole fucking country of Iraq was a death hall in 2005, so not inaccurate.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:11pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
good thing that's all behind us
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:11pm listener james from westwood:
(Or 2004, he said, spotting the show date.)
Avatar 9/13/17 6:12pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I may have been using a future sample
Avatar 9/13/17 6:12pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I'm just waiting for the cows
Avatar 9/13/17 6:13pm geezerette:
Reality is so surreal now that this show is clearer than the news.
I love cows.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:15pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
So quaint, calling them "people." Pols would be more inflammatory and dehumanizing today, I think.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:17pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
so, this is scary. the first half didn't prepare me for this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:17pm listener james from westwood:
It's always an exercise in cognitive dissonance to look at the Bush camarilla as "good" compared to the current litterbox, but I don't know how to end this sentence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:18pm Carmichael:
2004 was waaaay different ...
Avatar 9/13/17 6:18pm geezerette:
In the 20th C. school desks had magical properties. Children kneeling under them could survive a nuclear attack! Isn't that wonderful?
Avatar 9/13/17 6:19pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Speaking of which, and seeing as which direction the audio has turned today, I finally finished "Threads." Really brutal. (Early 80's BBC film attempting to portray the after effects of nuclear holocaust in a realistic, unsanitized way.)
Avatar 9/13/17 6:20pm geezerette:
If I listen any longer I might cry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:20pm listener james from westwood:
Some Donkey Kong buried in that mix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:21pm listener james from westwood:
It's the board with those springy things and the elevators. Ah, my misspent youth. And quarters.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:21pm geezerette:
Ken, where did you find that film?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:21pm Carmichael:
Sounds like Missile Command also, or maybe Galaga.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:22pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
At least there aren't bears. There's a show a little like this one that has a lot of bears that I actually can't listen to. On the surface that might be a gentler show. (One Step Closer, from 3 months before this. lastever.org...)
Avatar 9/13/17 6:22pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Oh, somewhere online, where all movies are
Avatar 9/13/17 6:23pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Those springy things were really noisy
Avatar 9/13/17 6:23pm geezerette:
Dang. Thank You.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:24pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I tried to play Ms. Pac Man on someone's stand-up arcade MAME thingy recently, but it had an 8-way joystick, which makes these games unplayable. New people trying it out will misunderstand!
Avatar 9/13/17 6:24pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Tsal!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:33pm Carmichael:
Defender is my arcade game of choice.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:33pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Reverse! Love those Williams games
Avatar 9/13/17 6:34pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I wonder how badly the two-way joystick in that would translate to the 8-way on the emulator machine
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:39pm listener james from westwood:
Oooh, there's a track on the "Pi" soundtrack that uses Defender samples. I think it's Aphex Twin, "Bucephalus Bouncing Ball."
Avatar 9/13/17 6:39pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I didn't notice that. P.S. Black Swan was pretty good
Avatar 9/13/17 6:42pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
listener james, is this the loop you meant you liked?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:45pm Carmichael:
Really, LJFW?? I shall go look for a listen!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:47pm listener james from westwood:
If you're talking about the, if I'm correct, Rick Springfield, then yes indeed! (The 80s-ish one that sounds like a second cousin to the also-excellent "Lawyers in Love" loop.)
Avatar 9/13/17 6:48pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
We're mostly hearing the 38 Special loop
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:51pm listener james from westwood:
.38 Special! There we are! They occupy a similar spot in my mental index.
Avatar 9/13/17 6:52pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
What if I didn't want to say goodbye? Goodbye?
Avatar 9/13/17 6:52pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I replayed a show that used a Rick Springfield loop a few weeks ago here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/13/17 6:54pm listener james from westwood:
Thanks, Kenzo!
Avatar 9/13/17 6:55pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Hello Kenzo!
Avatar 3:28pm Martinibomb:
Are the cows drunk in the Rumsfeld?
Avatar 3:30pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Otis, I'm happy to be overfilling your audiocup.
Avatar 3:31pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Martinibomb, the cows LOVE the Rumsfeld.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm Otis Fodder:
It's blending well with the Sheena stream. Tempted to bring up another window to compliment this tall glass with Radio Ravoli.
Avatar 3:32pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I let you do it rather than do it myself, like the egg you get to add to the 50's cake mix.
Avatar 3:32pm Martinibomb:
Rum Cow: Milk, angostura bitters, light rum, vanilla extract
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Otis Fodder:
Whenever I do this, I feel like I'm listening to a Negativland Over The Edge show meets Plunderphonics meets a dark star. Blessed sounds.
Avatar 3:34pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
The sonic-privileged.
Avatar 3:34pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Martinibomb: Can you translate that into an audio refreshment?
Avatar 3:37pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I already hear shows within shows without the multichannel tripling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Otis Fodder:
Hi Granny!
Avatar 3:40pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
So, while I'm getting settled into this new slot, I'll unsettle again next week, by trying out doing a live broadcast on two stations, one hour out of sync. (The local live radio show starts an hour earlier.) Unless I go with the plan where the overlapping hour #2 play live on both while hour #1 plays live over there and two hours delayed over here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm Otis Fodder:
I like the new time slot.
Off to continue and convert these streams into figments of my imagination as I turn reality into a client conference call. Nice new time zone Kenzo, or... new TimeKenzone! See ya!
Avatar 4:05pm Mr Fab:
Yo kenzo! Tho i'll miss you dueling with Martinibomb this is a good slot for yr brand of trippyness, as I'm never really fully awake on Mondays.
Avatar 4:08pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Yes, you should stay half awake all day, please. Here, I'll help
Avatar 4:10pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm ARB:
Feeling that kind of hypnotic clarity here, loving this!
Avatar 4:14pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
@ARB Yes until there's nothing left to think anymore
Avatar 4:17pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
This episode reminds me of The Phantom Tollbooth chapter I just read, about Kakofonous A. Dischord, Doctor of Dissonance.
Avatar 4:19pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Perhaps as a child I'd assumed he was the hero of the story
Avatar 4:20pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
(But I jest. I don't find this discordant or cacophonous at all.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm ARB:
@kenzo-exactly!
Avatar 4:23pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
I mean, I'm happy to hear these sounds on their own, and only 10x as happy to hear them together.
Avatar 4:29pm Mr Fab:
am singing karaoke-style "Dont Fear The Reaper" over this.
Avatar 4:30pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
and bombs and splashes and tippy cups and motivational speakers, my fantasy karaoke night
Avatar 4:31pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
oh and early 80's video arcades
Avatar 4:32pm Mr Fab:
ha, I love the idea of someone going up at a karaoke night and just making sound fx over the music.
Avatar 4:32pm Mr Fab:
Dick Dale might say: don't fear the reverb.
Avatar 4:33pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Most of my early stage shows were trojan horse style like that
Avatar 4:38pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
Light background music for your fundraising dinner reception? No problem!
Avatar 4:40pm WR:
What will we ever know and is there any way that knowing will make a difference. Still I listen and contemplate as I shuffle forms.
Avatar 4:41pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
(But I jest. In fact, the opposite happened: I was being urged to play a fundraiser dinner and I talked my way out of that one. My trojan horse performances were generally sneaking a live performance in where an experimental installation had been requested.)
