Kind of like taking your parents record collection and getting drunk in a Radio Shack. Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Garage Punk, Regular Punk and Old-Fashioned Weirdos. Hopefully you have the patience for this fast-paced sonic impatience. Not recommended for the fan of 4 minute songs.

Avatar 2:11pm Mailman Tom:

One of the highlights of my life happened when I saw the Cramps play live and up close in New Haven.

That was great! I have a comedy album from the ‘60s that did that with politician’s speeches.
Avatar 2:23pm Mailman Tom:

Raw Magazine put a flexi-disc in one of their early issues. It made fun of Ronald Reagan and was quite funny!
  2:25pm Martinibomb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Rich in Washington:

I've got those Reagan cutups. They're by writer Douglas Kahn. He did one shortly before Reagan was elected and then an updated version after. The later was released on one of Sub Pop's first compilation cassettes.
Avatar 2:26pm recordrouletteclub:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Rich in Washington:

but your cutup was brilliant!
Avatar 2:28pm recordrouletteclub:

I had to do something with that RIDICULOUS clip. Couldn't let that one pass by. Thanks!
Avatar 2:29pm Mr Fab:

Is this actual Jamaican reggae, or American soul that sounds reggae-ish?
Avatar 2:30pm recordrouletteclub:

The latter I believe..semi-recent as well
Avatar 2:35pm ARB:

Did anyone grow up watching Daktari?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Rich in Washington:

I vaguely remember Daktari. Seemed like it was in rerun syndication on Saturday afternoons.
Avatar 2:38pm Mr Fab:

Afro-beat was partially inspired by James Brown, ths is an afro-beat band covering an actual James Brown song...music folding back on it self...
Avatar 2:38pm Mailman Tom:

Ran from 1966 to 1969. 89 episodes!

Avatar 2:40pm Mr Fab:

There was a Hardcore Devo vol THREE?!
Avatar 2:42pm Sem:

Her first 45, released in October 1965, was a cracking cover of Motown girl group The Velvelettes’ Needle in a haystack. On the flip was a suped-up version of Baby Washington’s I’ve got a feeling. Both sides proved perfect showcases for her energetic vocal style and drew comparisons with Scottish singer Lulu.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Rich in Washington:

It was an unofficial bootleg.
Avatar 2:42pm recordrouletteclub:

I think that DEVO is a fake: www.discogs.com...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Rich in Washington:

Superior Viaduct reissued Hardcore 1 & 2 a few years ago with some extra tracks not on the original CD releases, but I think there's 3 & 4 as bootlegs, I think by different outfits.
Avatar 2:44pm Mr Fab:

Ah, ok. I recognized some of those tracks, some were on the Recombo DNA comp.

Try Soulseek, I found them there"

Fight beer bellies: drink cocktails!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Rich in Washington:

I still hope that before I die, I get to hear the Conny Plank/Brian Eno mixes of Q: Are We Not Men?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Rich in Washington:

It sounds somewhat likely, as both Mark Mothersbaugh and Jerry Casale confirmed that they exist and the former said something to the effect that he ought to see about getting them released.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Rich in Washington:

It apparently had Eno playing and singing all over it, but Devo had final cut and just faded almost all of his 'contributions' down in the mix.
Avatar 2:48pm Mr Fab:

Mark Mothersbaugh said he came across Eno’s notes to sounds he wanted to add, but the band mostly vetoed. NOw Mark sez he wants to hear ‘em!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Rich in Washington:

Yep. I think either he or Casale said they're actually in possession of those mixes. I think it was Mark.
Avatar 2:49pm Mr Fab:

But mark figures Eno has long forgotten/lost interest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Rich in Washington:

I just this morning dreamt that I found an original release of the Mongoloid single in a box of discarded records.
Avatar 2:51pm Mr Fab:

I dreamt I dyed my hair pink. And in my dream, I really liked it and was proud of it, ha ha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Rich in Washington:

Maybe if you do it, MY dream will come true! Just sayin'. I'd do the same if it was you!
Avatar 2:53pm Sem:
