With billows and blasts from choirs and orchesters
Buskers and talkers
Big bands and squawkers,
the Stork Club has retained its qualities of decaying elegance and dwindling significance since the late 1950s.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm Jeff Golick:

(Yeah, I didn't feel great about that one, @hyde.)
Avatar 12:08pm hyde:

@JG it's been happening since kindergarten, so I'm used to it haha
Avatar 12:10pm Wolfgang:

@hyde: you should always retend you've never heard it before, and question the idiot (viz: me) endlessly about the meaning and logic of this Jekyll. Think: Mr. Somke-Too-Much from Pythin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Well hyde- we're Jazzbos here, so not a bad thing...
Avatar 12:10pm Wolfgang:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Uncle Michael:

I was set to participate in a Prankster side event organized by Zane Kesey. Alas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Dave in Vermont:

this may be blasphemy but I have recently become aware that the band was much tighter (and to some degree more appealing?) with only one drummer- i am not totally convinced of this theory but i have been getting into this era (wall of sound etc) a lot more lately
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I think you just need someone who Knows to cherry-pick the Dead & yer good...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...think they considered being Tight almost too aggressive a way to court the Vibe - for better &/or worse...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm doctorjazz:

An interesting Sinatra song given that he seems significantly less arrogant in this one than in most of his songs. To me, his songs usually ooze monumental amounts of an "I'm better than you in every way" vibe. Here he seems needy, which is a change.
