Kind of like taking your parents record collection and getting drunk in a Radio Shack. Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Garage Punk, Regular Punk and Old-Fashioned Weirdos. Hopefully you have the patience for this fast-paced sonic impatience. Not recommended for the fan of 4 minute songs.

Hi recordrouletteclub!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Danny, Hi again everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm ARB:

I'm ready to polka I guess
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm joe:

Let it ride on Black 33
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm ARB:

Ready for anything!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Lotis Banana:

Ready for the killer kuts!
Avatar 2:03pm Mr Fab:

Muchos gracias to ARB and Tropicaza! All buckled up and ready to blast off, Danny.
Avatar 2:03pm Franco Twinkie:

Danny!?! Henry!?! I'm all mixed up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Listener Bob in PGH:

Wow, what could that hearse pick-up cab be used for???
Avatar 2:03pm StringOFperils:

Avatar 2:03pm recordrouletteclub:

HI ALL!!! Nice show ARB!! My name is Danny Henry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Lotis Banana:

We can go with... DJ Danry!
Avatar 2:04pm Franco Twinkie:

Got it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Rich in Washington:

The name The Danny Henry Show has a certain ring to it. Just sayin'.
Avatar 2:05pm Mr Fab:

Franco ha, his name is Danny J Henry aka DJ Henry. The man was born with DJ in his name! He had no choice but to jockey them discs for his whole life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Rich in Washington:

I'm gonna need that camper hearse if I'm gonna get serious about my funeral DJ business.
Avatar 2:06pm solo mon:

Gmorning sheeners!
Avatar 2:06pm Franco Twinkie:

Kind of like Don Bonebrake been a drummer.
Avatar 2:08pm Mr Fab:

That camper attached to the hearse is for people who ARE taking it with them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Rich in Washington:

Oh yeah!
Avatar 2:09pm Mr Fab:

I was amazed that DJ bonebrake was his real name. Again, his life was laid out for him born with that name. Can't be an accountant or an insurance salesman..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Rich in Washington:

I loved TradeMark G and Frilly's Dazzle Hearse.
It was painted up with a weird zebra stripe pattern inspired by WWI 'dazzle ship' camouflage patterns.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Listener Bob in PGH:

I was thinking that it could be used by the local retro/vintage 60s garage punk band. They would make the drummer travel in the camper section by himself!
Avatar 2:12pm Mr Fab:

I miss the Minutemen so so much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Rich in Washington:

me too, Fab!
Avatar 2:13pm Franco Twinkie:

Corn dogs from Pedro.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Lotis Banana:

The dazzle hearse was fantastic, cruised around in it a few times years back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Rich in Washington:

I remember the year D Boon died. Someone had just given me a cassette taped off the radio of a live performance on KPFA (or KPFK?) and I became an instant fan and then shortly thereafter got the news that he had died.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Rich in Washington:

That's cool, Lotis! I forgot you lived in SF around that time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Rich in Washington:

I think they had to abandon it when they moved because it blew a headgasket or something.
  2:15pm ARB:

Blowing a head gasket is my special talent
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Rich in Washington:

Dang specialty fleet vehicles. You can't just go to NAPA and buy parts for 'em.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Lotis Banana:

Was back from just one year in 2005 and was a good time as they were there and had a cool pad/studio place. Fun summer that was. Philz coffee on 24th almost daily that summer out front with turkish coffee and a chocolate bar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Rich in Washington:

agh. You just reminded me! I took all my turkish coffee gear home during the shutdown and now I'm at work without it!
Avatar 2:16pm Franco Twinkie:

Rich, that Minuteman set was on Richard Meltzers show Hep Cats From Hell on KPFK at mid-night on Saturdays. One of the best shows ever.
  2:17pm ARB:

Rich, i hope that includes a luxury carpet that you sip it atop
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Rich in Washington:

Right, Franco! I had a buddy that summered in LA when I was a teenager and he'd come back with stuff taped off the radio. Rodney, etc.
I still have some of the cassettes to this day.
Avatar 2:18pm Sem:

I wanted to know, now I do.
Hey, djHenry, RR Clubbers, and new-to-the-show-ers.
Avatar 2:18pm StringOFperils:

I liked Meltzer's writing. He demolished the mythology of rock for me at a tender age.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Rich in Washington:

Yeah, ARB, I want to make a little Moroccan restaurant style coffee corner in my office. While I'm at it, a turntable.
Avatar 2:19pm recordrouletteclub:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Rich in Washington:

We have a bunch of abandoned offices on my floor. I should just slowly covertly build a lounge in one of them.
Avatar 2:19pm Franco Twinkie:

Let me tell you, Rich, some of the inspired nonsense that would come to life on that show was beyond amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Lotis Banana:

Rich, I'll be right over!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Rich in Washington:

Meltzer's nuts. I think he lives in Portland now but I'm not sure.
Avatar 2:21pm Franco Twinkie:

Not nuts, but a nutty kind of brilliant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Rich in Washington:

One of my fave early LA punk bands is VOM, with Meltzer writing and singing.
Avatar 2:22pm StringOFperils:

A philosophy major in the cultural arena with a bunch of hand grenades.
Avatar 2:22pm Franco Twinkie:

Vom, hell yeah! They were so good live.
Avatar 2:22pm Mr Fab:

Was the Meltzer show on before Andrea Enthal's 12 O'clock Rock? Someone else I'd love to bring to the Jungle Room, if I could track her down.
Avatar 2:24pm StringOFperils:

You look like Buchanan but you're not....
Avatar 2:25pm recordrouletteclub:

Is that dialogue from the movie with the same title? Anyone know?
Avatar 2:26pm Mr Fab:

Roky! Li'l Fab's first concert. And speaking of good (?) daddies, hope you had a groovy Father's Day, Danny, Rich, and any other dads in the house.
Avatar 2:26pm Martinibomb:

I gotta make a karaoke track of this one
Avatar 2:26pm recordrouletteclub:

You too, FAB!!
Avatar 2:26pm Martinibomb:

@fab almost got the sheena zine ready gonna send it to you in a hour or so
Avatar 2:27pm Martinibomb:

i downsized from the half page size to smaller one so I could get it done
Avatar 2:27pm Mr Fab:

Daddy, yes, I watched "creature with the atom Brain" and Roky's dialogue was very accurate
Avatar 2:28pm recordrouletteclub:

I thought it must be from the movie.
Thanks Fab
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm joe:

@martinibomb don't think you are going to just slide that in there and nobody is going to notice :)
Avatar 2:28pm Franco Twinkie:

I't Roky doing the dialoge. I like to think of him in his messy house eating pizza and watching monster movies on television.
Avatar 2:30pm solo mon:

Been enjoying the tunes while I frantically work!
Avatar 2:31pm recordrouletteclub:

Thanks SOLO MON!
Avatar 2:34pm Sem:

Wow, wild shit here. Thx,d j Henry!
Avatar 2:36pm recordrouletteclub:

Avatar 2:36pm Mr Fab:

Yeah, Jimi could throw down the occasional groovy a-go-go number to make the miniskirts shake, he wasn't all hippie trip outs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar 2:45pm Mr Fab:

Haha, yeah, Danny tried to sneak Wing covering Back in Black past us.
Avatar 2:45pm recordrouletteclub:

GUILTY as charged.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Rich in Washington:

This is cool!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Lotis Banana:

Classic BDP!
Avatar 2:54pm recordrouletteclub:

My apologies for the next song, but it fit in well..
Avatar 2:55pm Mr Fab:

All this golden age of rap, and 80s anti-cop punk songs, have been coming back to me, too. As timely as today's headlines!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Lotis Banana:

Another high-octane hour to work by DJ DH, thanks buddy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Jan Turkenburg:

Thanks Danny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm ARB:

Yes, eating my overnight oats to a marvelous hour of tunes, thank you!
Avatar 2:59pm recordrouletteclub:

Avatar 2:59pm StringOFperils:

Thanks for the show DJDJ
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Lotis Banana:

Oats, yay! ARB... I ordered the Tino reissue, pal at a local shop had it in stock. Thanks for that!
Avatar 2:59pm Mr Fab:

Well, I will definitely be grabbing this album. I especially like the drumming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm joe:

Thank you Dan
Avatar 3:00pm recordrouletteclub:

Yeah, sorry about that Fab. I couldn't resist.
Avatar 3:00pm recordrouletteclub:

Yeah, sorry about that Fab. I couldn't resist.
Avatar 3:00pm Mr Fab:

Don't apologize, that was great stuff!
Avatar 3:01pm recordrouletteclub:

Danke. I have a rule that I NEVER play my own stuff. But, I actually didn't play drums on that record. Hahah
Avatar 3:01pm recordrouletteclub:

I do now though..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Lotis Banana:

Whoa, that's your stuff Danny. Cool, I dig it!!
