@Michael: I have a WFMU definition of 'music'.

@ngh, i think we all share that definition
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Carmichael:

Is this a Roud, David?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm David Dichelle:

It is indeed, Carmichael, no. 54.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Carmichael:

Jeez, never mind. Right in front of me ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm David Dichelle:

Sorry, I added it a bit late.

Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Michael 98145:

Great choice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm David Dichelle:

Thanks, there will be a bit of variety within the set this week in fact.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 3:48pm northguineahills:

Clutha, not to be confused w/ Cthuhlu, is the Cumbric (the pre-Roman tongue of north England/south Scotland) word for the River Clyde...

This is awesome....
Avatar 🚂 3:52pm Bas NL:

That kept well! 1928!
Avatar 3:53pm Joe McG:

These are great versions, David. The first version of this song that I heard was the Everlys' version, so that's the one that I still hold closest to my heart.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm David Dichelle:

Thanks, Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm David Dichelle:

There are actually a great many versions of this particular song, can't get to them all, of course.

Lost my internet while Nina's song, was about to post this. Been thinking of a variation on Phil Ochs', Mississippi Find Yourself Another Country To Be Part Of. He already subbed it with Nixon now we have a new candidate.

@Bas: just got my stimulus check and a job, so, a-whiskey (and spice) shoppin' I must go!)
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:07pm redkayak:

One of the better Rouds I'd say...
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:08pm northguineahills:

@Brian: I told once when djing near the end of the night, I played Ochs' "Mississippi" and I got thrown off the decks. It turned out the owner of the club was from MS.
Avatar 🚂 4:09pm Bas NL:

Live is good, ngh! :)

Avatar 🚂 4:22pm Sem:

Now, that's funny, David.

The end of May was birthday week on the stream.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Brian in UK:

Sem, hope you will not be asking questions later. 11, 15 and 18 are relevant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm David Dichelle:

It turns out that Try to Remember is the only song I remember as well.
Avatar 🚂 4:28pm TDK60:

  4:29pm Dean:

Hodginkson reminds me that I await delivery of a 17CD Henry Cow box in days to come. And of Konk Pack, whom I heard live in Victo. I love Konk Pack.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm David Dichelle:

Sounds like quite a parcel, Dean.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Brian in UK:

Sem, No.11 is hopeful for tomorrow morning.

Dean, almost rivals Sandy Denny's nineteen CDs, including the unedited farting in the bath opus.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:34pm doctorjazz:

Roach and Braxton, this duo works great (not alli these Roach duo recordings do).
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:35pm spodiodi:

it sounds great
  4:35pm Dean:

I'll confess that on top of the HC box I'm awaiting a 29CD+1DVD Gentle Giant box, too.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:36pm doctorjazz:

That'll keep you busy for a night or 2, Dean!
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:36pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm David Dichelle:

Hey Chresti, how's the park this week?
Avatar 🚂 4:37pm TDK60:

Chresti, you made it, forth and back.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:37pm spodiodi:

hi, chresti! how did it go?
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:39pm Brian in UK:

chresti, are you safe and sound?
Avatar 🚂 4:40pm Bas NL:

Heroicredolphysiognomystery... now there's a DJ's tongue twister.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm David Dichelle:

Bas, the emphasis is on the mystery, when it comes to its pronunciation.
Avatar 🚂 4:42pm Bas NL:

I'm all ears! ;)
  4:42pm Dean:

Still haven't made it through the 34CD Scott Ross traversal of Scarlatti sonatas, but I have heard all 26 of the Anthology of the Recorder. Of all four recent-ish acquisitions, I'm going to guess that the Ross box is the winner. Utterly beautiful music utterly beautifully performed. Each disk improves upon the prior one.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:43pm chresti:

Oh, pretty well, only had to kick a couple people off the courts. Had a lot of phone calls, first day back after it closed down due to the fire (or something)threat.
Avatar 🚂 4:43pm TDK60:

Gosh, and I used to think a 3-LP record album was a stretch.
Avatar 🚂 4:47pm TDK60:

Chresti, why did you have to ask them to leave?
  4:49pm Dean:

I was immunized against giant box sets around the time of the Ross release in 1988, when KPFK played the whole thing start to finish. I tried to listen to as much as possible then. Only acquired it last year, though!
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Brian in UK:

Dean, is the Scarlatti mainly harpsichord?
  4:52pm Dean:

Entirely harpsichord, recorded in two or three venues, so the sound varies a little from disc to disc, particularly given the vintage.
Avatar 🚂 4:53pm Bas NL:

Yesterday on Techtonic Webhamster Henry linked to talktotransformer.com It's an AI, neural net, text generator. Tried by entering 'Heroicredolphysiognomystery' and it went haywire!
Avatar 🚂 4:53pm Listening Out There:

I'm late, but I'm here...mostly...
  4:54pm Dean:

Oops. Keyboard excerpted my comment. I meant that the sound of the Ross box is really good, particularly given the vintage.
Avatar 🚂 4:55pm TDK60:

Of course, a 3-LP album (like Sandinista by The Clash) is different from a box set collection..
  4:55pm Dean:

But best harpsichord recording of which I'm aware is a 2LP Goldberg Variations on a label operated long ago by Yves-Bernard Andre.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm David Dichelle:

Hey LOT!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm David Dichelle:

Bas, what did it come up with?
Avatar 🚂 5:00pm Bas NL:

All snippets of -presumably- forum headers and footers. I think they used fora to teach the neural net the concept of language and they forgot to strip of the unintelligible bits.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm David Dichelle:

Sounds like what happens when you computer "translate" back and forth between languages, often resulting in wonderful linguistic chaos.
Avatar 🚂 5:03pm Bas NL:

Yes! Very much like that!
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 5:04pm chresti:

TDK60, because they hadn't made a reservation, they can only reserve online. Normally, we could sell courts to walk ups, pre-Covid safety measures.
Avatar 🚂 5:08pm TDK60:

Thanks for the explanation, Chresti.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 5:09pm Carmichael:

Tennis nazi ... :)
  5:10pm Dean:

Love Nazi!
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 5:11pm chresti:

Your welcome, TDK60. I'm not mean or anything like that, I'm just the 'splainer.
Avatar 🚂 5:11pm Bas NL:

Dichelle... Douze points.
