Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm Tome:

OUCH it's time !<>!
Avatar 7:00pm spacebrother:

Just a Few Laurie songs and then other stuff.
Avatar 7:01pm spacebrother:

Hey Rich and Otis, and GG and Tome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm Rich in Washington:

Glad you're OK spacebrother!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm Rich in Washington:

Love that Ambrose record. I always just assumed the 'part V' was part of the joke.
Avatar 7:02pm spacebrother:

Thanks, Rich. he demonstrations have moved up the street. Still cleaning up here.
  7:03pm CC:

OMG... I had a girlfriend from the Bronx named Rosie who sounded just like her and used to drive me crazy!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Greg - definitely glad you're safe and well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Otis Fodder:

This is great, I don't know Linda Laurie at all but looking her up now. This'll be fun!
Avatar 7:05pm spacebrother:

CC - I guess she really camped it up for the record.
Avatar 7:06pm spacebrother:

Actually it WAS Laurie who told the Ambrose story about the doll (contestant @1.)
Avatar 7:08pm spacebrother:

I think he was talking about Elvis.
Avatar 7:08pm Mr Fab:

I was amazed when I found out that Laurie did both the male and female voices.
  7:08pm CC:

Yeah the voice where they're walking through the subway tunnel... just like Rosie...used to drive me crazy!!!
Avatar 7:10pm spacebrother:

"Good girl?" WTF?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I actually gasped at the "good girl" part!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm Rich in Washington:

I used to work at this big restaurant/lounge when I was a kid and one of the weekend bartenders was this petit woman who wore these cool Pam Grier in Jacky Brown suits and she had a voice like the male voice in this record. Or Dr. Girlfriend in Venture Bros.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm Rich in Washington:

I gotta get my pal Toby/Dr. Zomb to listen to this show. We're both huge fans of this weird little record.
Avatar 7:13pm spacebrother:

@ Rich - Was she married?
Avatar 7:14pm spacebrother:

Sounds like a very cool woman!
Avatar 7:15pm spacebrother:

Duetting with herself!
Avatar 7:16pm Martinibomb:

heya spacebro!
Avatar 7:16pm spacebrother:

Hey there, MB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm ARB:

She's such a hoot!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

This is fun! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm Rich in Washington:

I have no idea. I actually think teenage me was inadvertently barking up the wrong tree, if you follow me. She was really cool. She'd pay me to wash her huge Monte Carlo after my shift. She was a real career bartender, working lots of places in Portland. I think management managed to run her off. They were a bunch of coke dealing hillbillies who were running the joint as a party place for their loser friends towards the end.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm ARB:

This one's my favorite!
Avatar 7:18pm spacebrother:

@ ARB - I bet I could have guessed that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm ARB:

not just doing the male voice, but doing two males fighting over herself
Avatar 7:19pm Martinibomb:

The old bartender at Hung Far Low had one of these voices
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm Rich in Washington:

I had no idea Linda Laurie was so prolific. She's wonderful!
Avatar 7:19pm spacebrother:

@ Rich. Yes, i get your drift. Still sounds like a totally cool woman to know.
Avatar 7:20pm Martinibomb:

love off kilter whistling
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm Rich in Washington:

She was. I think she was also the bartender that showed me how to play the lounge's jukebox for free. I'd pick a list of cool records for when I had to clean up hillbilly vomit in the lounge before it would open.
Avatar 7:21pm spacebrother:

@ MB - Tuneless whistling holds a special charm.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Back! Just getting some leftovers from the kitchen :-)
  7:22pm CC:

Hahaha!!!...great!!
Avatar 7:22pm spacebrother:

Hey GG!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm Rich in Washington:

My whole adult working live is finding progressively less crappy jobs until reaching retirement. I'm in the home stretch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm Rich in Washington:

Oh god!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm Rich in Washington:

Wow! What a fascinating show today, spacebrother!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm Otis Fodder:

She wrote Sid & Marty stuff!?!
Avatar 7:24pm Martinibomb:

Whoa!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm Otis Fodder:

That's awesome, a part of my youth, major part in the 70s.
Avatar 7:25pm spacebrother:

I think she wrote some other theme songs too.
Avatar 7:25pm spacebrother:

Still researching
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm Rich in Washington:

Yep. me too. That song is just perma-etched into my brain.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ahhh Astro Sounds :-)
Avatar 7:28pm spacebrother:

I may do more on Linda sometime. A small obsession of mine.
Avatar 7:29pm Martinibomb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar 7:30pm spacebrother:

Thanks GG!
  7:30pm CC:

Oh yeah!!!...great jam!!
Avatar 7:30pm spacebrother:

Some slight social protest here and there in this show.
Avatar 7:31pm Mr Fab:

Yeah, Linda Laurie did the Land of the Lost theme? Mind officially blown.
Avatar 7:32pm spacebrother:

@ Fab - Yeah, when I first found that out, i was stunned. STUNNED, I say.
Avatar 7:37pm spacebrother:

This half-hour is pretty much a grab-bag.
  7:39pm CC:

I like it!!!
  7:41pm CC:

The sound quality on the jungle stream is exceptional tonight!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's sounding pretty bloody brilliant :-)
Avatar 7:42pm spacebrother:

@ CC - Thank you for listening. I play things that move my soul or make laugh, or preferably both.
Avatar 7:42pm Martinibomb:

are you using 320k?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm ARB:

Sucker for a good grab bag
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm Rich in Washington:

I love these Letter To records!
Avatar 7:43pm Mr Fab:

Slim Gaillard is one of my favorite human beings. He should be as famous as, like, a really famous guy.
Avatar 7:44pm spacebrother:

@ MB - Nope. Still the 128.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Otis Fodder:

Ha, great answer record!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Rich in Washington:

I wish I had a real printed copy of that Slim dictionary.
Avatar 7:44pm spacebrother:

@Otis - I think there are 8 total answer records to the Lundberg single.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm Otis Fodder:

Never heard this one, nice one!
Avatar 7:45pm spacebrother:

@ Fab. Somewhere I have an interview with Slim about his life where he recounts being left in Egypt for a year when he missed a boat and had ot fend for himself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm ARB:

I agree about Slim Gaillard! the Dunkin Bagels video is a real balm
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm ARB:

Balm Of Gaillariad
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm Rich in Washington:

Scatman Crothers used to be Gaillard's drummer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm ARB:

He Moses
Avatar 7:46pm spacebrother:

@ ARB - I have to look that one up again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm ARB:

Yeah Scatman is in that video too
  7:47pm CC:

Nice!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ooo!! I like this :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm ARB:

It's on a comp called Black Sabbath (or maybe Black Shabbat?) I think, where black musicians and judaism intersect.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm Otis Fodder:

Cracking up here with Telstar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Otis Fodder:

Kitchstortion - www.last.fm...
"Kitchstortion has made a noise album made entirely of samples from official North Korean propaganda music."

wow! yea!
Avatar 7:51pm spacebrother:

@ ARB - I need that one!
Avatar 7:52pm spacebrother:

@ Otis - Great, now I need to get that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm ARB:

Me too Otis!
Avatar 7:54pm spacebrother:

All I know about the NK propganda music is the "Fucking USA" song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm ARB:

There's a good cover of that one by Neung Phak
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm Rich in Washington:

This is wonderful!
  7:55pm CC:

I haven't heard many stories about how the virus is faring in all of these submarines???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm ARB:

Sublime Frequencies also released a CD of NK propaganda music, Radio Pyongyang
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm Rich in Washington:

yeah, I've got the Neung Phak 7". I think there's also a subdued version on one of their LPs I also have.
Avatar 7:56pm Mr Fab:

Submarines, and Antarctica, are probly the least infected places left.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Rich in Washington:

Do you know any of the Neung Phak people, ARB? I can't remember if they're from LA or SF.
Avatar 7:56pm spacebrother:

@ CC - I suppose the virus is not on submarines, as long as they haven't made port in like 4 months.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Rich in Washington:

I just this weekend got a pair of Yellow Submarine socks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm ARB:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm ARB:

They're from Oakland Rich, I sorta know Mark
Avatar 7:57pm spacebrother:

Good idea!
Avatar 7:57pm Mr Fab:

The Kitchstortion guy sent me that album, as well as several albums of North Korean music that I posted on my old blog MusicForManiacs, but they're probly offline now.
  7:58pm CC:

that's probably why I haven't heard any stories???
Avatar 7:58pm Martinibomb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm ARB:
