Raviolis are Dumplings
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Kelly Jones:

Olivia, I love you. I just wanted to say that, cuz it's true.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm WoodsOfNH:

Dumplings are not sandwiches.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm listener james from westwood:

Hello, Olivia and all! Who doesn't need a flower moment!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Crudbringer:

I am ready for the beeping to occur now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Crudbringer:

@Woods correct because they are not designed to be handheld. Typically they are sauced during cooking, serving or consumption.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm spodiodi:

hi olivia!
hi everybody
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Crudbringer:

Now, a St. Louis-style *toasted* ravioli *is* indeed a sandwich, a sort of Italian calzon slider.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm WoodsOfNH:

Holy smokes. Olivia broadcasting from the depths of the Widow Jane Mine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Crudbringer:

Yeah no joke. Somebody toss her a rope, or at least lower down a bucket of sandwiches.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Jim the Poet:

Hey Olivia, looking forward to the show!
Avatar 3:07pm JakeGould:

Doesn’t Jim Bakker sell buckets of sandwiches to paranoid loonballs?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm WR:

Is it Monday afternoon or Friday morning?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Crudbringer:

I haven't seen the sandwiches, just the... glop. Like... pea soup? Yeah, he has a weird manic-monkey face now. Also wasn't he pushing silver supplements to stop the virus?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm chresti:

Hi Olivia! Hi ravioli pot!
  3:09pm Little Mexican Girl:

Why not both?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm MikeG:

Actually my comment was just a parody of Just Ted's weekly "Feelings are Facts" post on Michele's show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Gaylord Fields:

@MikeG: Inside jokes tend to get lost when they travel from show to show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Gaylord Fields:

I often find myself nonplussed and scratching my head when someone makes a reference to another show's culture that I'm not familiar with.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm olivia:

Thanks for being here & saying hello everybody ~
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm Gaylord Fields:

@MikeG: Before the lockdown, I rarely listened to weekday daytime WFMU. It just wasn't possible to both work and fall into the landscape of, say, Radio Ravioli. Now that I'm wfh, I can tune out work and dive in more.

Hey, I thought there was this big WFMU DJ commune hidden in the middle of the NJ swamps, such that none of you needed day jobs...

Standing in the woods, looking up and this bed is perfect
Avatar 4:07pm zivilars:

Thanks for the show, Olivia – your sets are not what I am normally listen to and therefore always broaden my musical horizon ... Have a great day everybody! @Joe: That was a killer "Three Chord Monte" today as always, thanks to you, too!

@WoodsOfNH longtime WFMU playlist readers may know that I'm the President of the Board of Trustees of the Century House Historical Society, home of the Widow Jane Mine.
There are not as many bats there as one would think. The site is currently closed, but we hope to be allowing responsible hiking and visits soon.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Carmichael:

Heya Olivia and various peoples. Should I make a shirt that says, "Gaylord 3:49"?

I'd buy one and make it look terrible.

Man... that crowd/cloud Freudian slip is downright... Freudian.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm Handy Haversack:

I was obscurely disappointed today when, on leaving a like 10-block radius for the first time in 11 weeks and even crossing borough lines that not one person saw my T-shirt and wanted to talk about WFMU. What the hell has everyone else been even *doing* this whole time.

The "sound of the cave" / resonant frequencies aspect of Stuart Hyatt's Glen Rose Formation brought to mind Oliver Beer's Vessel Orchestra sound installation which was at the Met Breuer (RIP) a while back - where heard the natural pitches of various sculptures and vessels. www.metmuseum.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm Blues Mandinga:

Ea!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Rob W:

Correction, maybe: I heard the Met was closing the Met Breuer (pre-pandemic) but online it's listed as still in operation, albeit closed for the time being of course.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Good afternoon, Olivia and resonators. Such nice sounds today!
  4:55pm JakeGould:

I spotted exactly two people wearing WFMU t-shirts (that I didn’t know previously) in Bay Ridge: One was a seemingly catatonic teenage kid wearing a “Moon Freaker” t-shirt on the B63 bus. The other was a middle aged a-hole screaming at staff in the local post office in a “Sputnik” t-shirt. There’s your deep Brooklyn demographics: Catatonic teen and raving customer service abuser! As long as their checks clear, tho.
  4:56pm morphe':

Thanks Olivia and all ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Ike:

Aw, bummer, I liked the Met Breuer. Not that anybody can go to any museums for the foreseeable future anyway though.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm Carmichael:

I think they're closing Jim Breuer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm brainiac:

@Carmichael: Seems they have a no graphic T-shirt dress code, so FMU listeners need to use the hi-sign to recognize each other.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm bore in suffern:

Thanks Olivia, really enjoying the show as always.

Heterodyne detector? Is that like Gaydar?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm olivia:

lol travisano66....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm Webhamster Henry:

Heterodyning the ultrasound is using interference between a (usually) constant frequency and the one you want to hear. Playing them together produces sum and difference frequencies. The sum is also too high to hear, the difference creeps down into the audible range, but it goes down as the sound you measure goes up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Travisano66:

Thank you, Olivia. I'm glad you weren't offended. Great show, by the way.

@TomFromGlasgow: As someone who worked from home before it was cool (2001 to 2011) I can say this time around it feels better because everyone is in this. When I was first working from home I was some “weirdo” with odd hours odd pay and such.

Now that we’re all in on this, the workflow is better. And honestly don’t miss the office politics nonsense.
