This seems to be a golden age for ambient music. Just a crazy amount of it out there now, of every possible kind. It's really great that many long lost and unknown albums have been reissued. In a lot of cases, the original releases were cassette only (not the Craig Kupka) and those are next to impossible to find.

The image on top of the playlist is "Vengeful Sister" by the late, great Dave Heath. Heath didn't publish many books, but his "A Dialogue With Solitude" from 1965 is one of the greatest monographs ever, and this image is from that collection. This photograph was his most famous.

dale: lucky you! A former friend works at FIT, and they were throwing out a couple of dozen Pentax K 1000's, a basic 35 film camera, when they decided to only teach digital, I assume. He got a bunch of those.

bulk collection in neighboring towns has been canceled due to covid. can't tell you how many boom boxes and bookshelf systems i've picked up, on top of garden equipment.

I lived in a city with a large college. Every spring when they departed, all sorts of still-working appliances/etc. were tossed. I had a friend who went around with his pickup truck, found radios, tape decks, lamps, toasters, etc. He gave a boombox once.

As years progressed, fiery words turned into reminiscences of two old friends, sitting on a bench, commenting on the world. Just like "Old Friends," by Simon and Garfunkle. Made me cry.

Montclair still has some onsite sales but none at this time. So many items can be found curbside, just waiting to be rehomed or become garbage, Tenants just discard lamps, tables and more; other tenants pick them up. I never looked online for garage sales etc.

Here in France we have the vide grenier I recently scored some original French Elvis Presley LPs and some small old French statues and other fun things Find great stuff for the apartment in the streets time to time

Yes. That’s true. The Paterson museum on spruce was once next to the main library but moved to spruce when the mills were renovated.
