Greetings, my friend. We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future. You are interested in the unknown, the mysterious, the unexplainable. That is why you are...

Is it Otis O' clock yet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am Otis:

Fortified Fodder or Food for Odders. Hi ya Rich!

Hi Otis!

Hi Otis from the past and future! Hi Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08am Rich in Washington:

these sounds of today sound as fresh today as they did yesterday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am Rich in Washington:

Hi chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Otis, hi Rich, hi Chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am chresti:

Hi Jan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am Rich in Washington:

Hi Jan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am Otis:

Good morning to afternoon everyone! Another all vinyl show, 4 hours of slabs. Off to pick some stuff... back in 10min with something ummm, we'll seeeeee.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14am Hopey Sockmonkey:

Good day, All! That apple actually looks like something I might try . . .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am Otis:

Me too Hopey, it's yummy treats this week. Unlike some past atrocity appetizers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am Rich in Washington:

Hi Hopey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am Hopey Sockmonkey:

Hi Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Webhamster Henry:

My mom used to make baked apples -- but setting them alight them was not part of the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am Webhamster Henry:

Criswell predicts: grave robbers from outer space bearing vinyl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Rich in Washington:

My appreciation for Todd Rundgren has been growing in recent years. The production on his stuff - and stuff he's produced for others - is pretty fantastic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Kat in Chicago:

Looks like everyone in Nazz went to the same hairdresser.

(I would like to go to the hairdresser!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Kat in Chicago:

Spacebrother starts his show with Criswell :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Hopey Sockmonkey:

Rich I agree, I think his value as a producer is sometimes forgotten.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Otis:

I'm at the cut length of the fellow on the left in Nazz. Soon to be bottom center.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am Hopey Sockmonkey:

Hi Kat! I actually gave myself a haircut last weekend, I could no longer stand the fringe falling in my eyes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am Otis:

Kat - He sure does! We could play 'where's Criswell' in Sheena's. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am Rich in Washington:

Hi Kat!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am Rich in Washington:

OPA!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am Hopey Sockmonkey:

I have never heard this album. I'm digging how crazy it is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Kat in Chicago:

Color is more of a problem than cut for me actually. I have about 3 inches of gray right now, which I wouldn't care about except that I have to start job hunting again next month.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Carmichael:

Heya Otis. The fella on the left in Nazz is Todd R.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Kat in Chicago:

@Hopey trimming one's own fringe/bangs is not easy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am chresti:

My boyfriend's sister and husband have a tortoise named Otis, your avatar reminded me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am Otis:

Ha, fantastic. Martinibomb has a pug named Otis too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Did someone summon the rainbows!?!?! Howdy!
Avatar 11:44am diabolo menthe:

Hi everyone, I come from the raisin lobby, just checking if Otis is plugging my recipes correctly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am Otis:

Ha, Carmichael, totally. I'd know that mug anywhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Otis:

In the kitchen taking care of ya Diabolo Menthe... what is that, peppermint? With raisins, oh my!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am Hopey Sockmonkey:

Kat, I've been dying and cutting my hair for the last 40 years! Being a punk in the 80s was a good chance to experiment :) Of course I also have a fantastic stylist who I usually see for my hair needs, but these are "unique" times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am Kat in Chicago:

Haha Hopey, I've given myself a number of cuts (of varying quality) over the years, and I've dyed my own hair all my life until last year - I was "new wave" in the 80s! I finally turned over the color to a professional last year, but I don't know when she will be back to work or when I'll feel comfortable going to see her. Salons are expected to start reopening here in a couple of weeks, lots of restrictions but I think it is still probably too soon. Plus I have to ride the bus to get there. Sigh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am Kat in Chicago:

Raisins with mint, ew.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am Webhamster Henry:

It's a pun on "The Devil and Miss Jones" en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am Webhamster Henry:

"The film's plot was inspired by the 1944 play No Exit by French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre"-- The Devil in Miss Jones, wikipedia
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am Hopey Sockmonkey:

Kat, I absolutely know what you mean! There is talk of salons opening soon(ish) but I know I won't feel comfortable being in such close proximity to anyone for the length of time it would take for a haircut.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Webhamster Henry:

I was running around like a hamster back then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Oooo, let's bring back Geocities styles!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Webhamster Henry:

Dancing baby was recently re rendered. boingboing.net...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Otis:

Oh god, ha, dancing baby. Tripod and Geocities for 2021! Ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Rich in Washington:

would be cool to see a replicated 90s internet again. My go-tos when I first got online, right after checking my pokey Disinfo.net email: Church of Subgenius website (which really HASN'T changed much at all), Snake Oil, SCHWA, Kooks Museum, Survival Research Laboratories, probably a few really early shockwave loaded sites, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Webhamster Henry:

WFMU itself has hidden 90isms on it. Like this website I did with MAC: wfmu.org...
Avatar 12:22pm Mr Fab:

Someone mentioned Criswell?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Webhamster Henry:

WORD, FEED and ST!M. ST!M is also still there: www.stim.com
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Mr. Fab has been summoned!
  12:25pm Hushberti:

Thank you, I love Kono Samourai.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Webhamster Henry:

I wrote Stim's Fax Bomb, which let you fax in an image to the website for use in contests and stuff. This was before people generally had digital cameras, and scanners, but did have faxes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Webhamster Henry:

sorry - the flexi museum is: wfmu.org...
But you DO get to see my 90's era 404 message. I had another one with the lp-chewing guru.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Otis:

Heyyy ya Fab. Torture sounds brought ya round!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I remember having a fax machine that used that terrible slick thermal paper.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Record Store Day has kind of ruined the uniqueness of collecting albums.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

You can never have too much Claudine Longet.
  12:46pm zzmmz:

hello!
Avatar 12:47pm Martinibomb:

Hey people of WFMU
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Otis:

Heyyyy M-Bomb and zzmmz!
Avatar 12:48pm Martinibomb:

Got a pug named Otis in my lap while I listen and read a Poul Anderson science fiction novel with a cup of tea.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Otis:

Ha, yes you do! Chresti wrote about "My boyfriend's sister and husband have a tortoise named Otis, your avatar reminded me."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Webhamster Henry:

Your talk-over music was "Watch What Happens" from Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Webhamster Henry:

You don't have a copy of Wittgenstein, though.
  12:59pm zzmmz:

kenny g. quintessential fmu.

Hope-eeee

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Webhamster Henry:

Now run Claudine through the echo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Freeform radio indeed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Rich in Washington:

this is a good soundtrack for listening to A/V Geeks' live stream with the sound down.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Otis:

Love AV/Geeks, so many good directives for mental hygiene.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

1979! I was 10, too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Otis:

Hi Granny! 1969, yay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

August 13, the day of Sharon Tate's funeral.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Rich in Washington:

Your birthday's August 13? Same as my Mom.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Otis:

May 7, 7 days after Mayday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Also Don Ho, Sridevi and Danny Bonaduce!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Webhamster Henry:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Rich in Washington:

What's the band?
It's Neu!
I know it's new but what's the name of the band?

Someone needs to write a Post Punk/Kraut version of Who's On First.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Rich in Washington:

Would work better en deutsche.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Webhamster Henry:

The band member/names one is pretty good: wp.production.patheos.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Otis:

Positivland!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Rich in Washington:

I remember Credibility Gap had a take on it with 70s Rock bands that was fairly hysterical. David L. Lander and Christopher Guest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Rich in Washington:

Love this soundtrack! I need to see this film again!
  2:12pm zzmmz:

i have soft spots on every nicholas roeg films.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Rich in Washington:

I can't believe I still haven't seen Walkabout.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Rich in Washington:

That LP cover!
Avatar 2:17pm Mr Fab:

SCTV (coincidentalty?) also did a rock version of "who's on first" that used some of the same band names as the Harry Shearer/Credibility gap version, like The Who, The Guess Who, Yes..
Avatar 2:20pm Mr Fab:

Oh, and August 13th is also Mrs Fabs' birthday.

And the day sheena's Jungle Room was supposed to invade Tiki Oasis this year, but who knows if that's still happening...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Cotton Comes To Harlem! I loved that movie back in the day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Webhamster Henry:

Galt MacDermot: Montreal native.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Otis:

Indeed Henry! Nice to find Galt LPs here and there in Montreal. Big fan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Rich in Washington:

Oh wow! I had no idea this happened!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Webhamster Henry:

Looking forward to a "Jazzbos Groove to the Now Sounds Of Today's Generation" set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I have never heard this Ella! How did I miss this bad-ass version?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Wait, there's a motion picture score for "Cotton Comes To Harlem?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Otis:

I still have not caught Cotton, want to see it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Happy 1969 birthdays!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

My birth year classifies me as a boomer, however I feel much more GenX.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Webhamster Henry:

Not just knee-deep... thigh deep.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Otis:

Rising to my belly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Rich in Washington:

Oh man! I've never heard this mix before! Love that Take It To The Stage track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Otis:

This is such a great single. Finally got it again recently. Recommended!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Rich in Washington:

I remember reading that that scorching guitar solo on 'Shit, Goddamn..' was some guy off the street who they had sit in on the session. I always thought it was Eddie Hazel, but apparently not.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Otis:

Oh really, cool! Gonna read up on that history thanks Rich. May the funk be with you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Rich in Washington:

but now see that it was actually Paul Warren of the Temptations.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Rich in Washington:
