I don't have to be crazy to be here, in fact mental health is no joking matter. Morning all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am David (in London):

Hey p20. How are you sir? I thought of you on Saturday as I watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off for nostalgia value (Because it was set in Chicago, not because you're a ringer for Matthew Broderick I should add).

Hey Handy. Greenings to Greetpoint.

David, how goes? We are waiting for John Q. Law to come around and tell us we have to move our car for the first time in two months. A rollicking start to the week.

Avatar 9:09am Brian in UK:

Hey Joe. Had this odd idea whilst weeding the garden that you might play a protest song set. I aint a weeding any more.
Avatar 9:09am Joe McG:

Welcome to the show, radio friends, thanks for stopping by to say hello. Parental warning: There will be violins, there may be some sax.
Avatar 9:09am Brian in UK:

David are you recumbent in the garden?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am p20:

Hi D(iL): Ferris Bueller is a great Chicago movie, as is Blues Brothers. I'm a total cinema snob, I usually watch art films, but the appeal of those two, especially for Chicagoans, is undeniable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am Handy Haversack:

Violins on the median -- I'm all for them!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am Krys O.:

Greetings!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am p20:

What's the best London movie?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am David (in London):

Brian, where have all your flowers gone? Long time passing.
Still at the kitchen table at present, but will be heading into the garden (Maud) soon.

Handy - Oh, bummer, sorry to hear that. Just what you need. Stone is quiet, but sunny and sends its regards.

p20 - I'm a film snob myself (mostly), but I count John Hughes as a high quality auteur, so am happy to watch any of his. FBDO has so much going on in it. Man, I was howling with laughter too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am LastWhiteRhino:

Sax, and Dirges, and Rock and Roll ?
Avatar 9:14am Brian in UK:

A piece of fluff called Spring in Park Lane. It was directed by my Nan's brother.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14am p20:

The Neel Murgai track was fantastic, thanks Joe for playing that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15am WoodsOfNH:

Speaking of film, we watched Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice over the weekend. Boy, what a time capsule that thing is!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am David (in London):

p20 - Jesus, best London movie? That's a tough one. Given your tastes, one you might not know but might like a lot is 'Duffer', which is the proto-Eraserhead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Threemoons:

Good morning Joe, fellow Yip Yips. LOVE this track.
Avatar 9:16am Joe McG:

@p20: You bet! @judy: Wow, he really did!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am Phillippe Bastille:

Good morning
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am p20:

D(iL): Good suggestion, you are correct that I've never heard of that film, will check it out soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am melinda:

@Woods it really is a great time capsule.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am p20:

Looking for Neel Murgai on Discogs, he only has 2 albums, which is a bit hard to believe. But I see that his Brooklyn Raga Massive did a collaboration with Adam Rudolph's Go:Organic Orchestra, that must be fantastic (because everything I've heard from Adam Rudolph is top-quality)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23am WoodsOfNH:

@melinda No doubt. Really enjoyed it though. Kind of nice to watch something with no cgi or crazed jump-cuts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Handy Haversack:

While the field is crowded, obviously, I'd put up Ghostbusters as one of the great NYC movies. Since we're on a FBDO, Blues Bros. level.

I was *pretty* disappointed when I met Bill Murray and served up the softball, "You know where this ladder goes," he wasn't ready with "It goes up."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am David (in London):

p20 - It's a dark and unsettling watch, but it's a real cinematic outlier. Uncredited and amazing electronic score by Delia Derbyshire to boot.

Yo, Phillippe. What's happening at Chateau Bastille today?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Phillippe Bastille:

Keen Eddie was an American tv show set in London that I thought was pretty good at making me feel like I was there. It had a very young Sienna Miller before she briefly became a somebody before becoming a nobody again, and really nice turns from Mark Valley and Colin Salmon. In typical Fox network fashion, it was cancelled before finding its audience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am LastWhiteRhino:

YIN YIN reminds me of a cartoon I used to watch as a kid, Tin Tin and his dog Snowy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am Phillippe Bastille:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am Marley P. Dogg:

Yes! Love me some Khruangbin! Thanks joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am p20:

D(iL): That's some real syncronicity. My wife and I were just talking about Delia Derbyshire last night! (We were sorting LPs together, she picked up a copy of "The Dreams" and asked me about it).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27am Threemoons:

You see, I LOVE WFMU because I discover so much amazing new and new to me music on it. I never heard of Kruangbin until a few seconds ago and now I know I will have this song as an earbug for the rest of the day!! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28am David (in London):

Phillippe, likewise really. Just about to knock off for a bit and snack.

p20 - Then this conversation was meant to be! Tip o' the cap to Mr Jung.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am Baja Joe:

Hello Joe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am Threemoons:

Week starting off with a bang. To make a long story short, I had a good problem--way too many Meyer lemons for reasons too convoluted to get into. So as of last night, I now have Too Much Meyer Lemon Marmalade, a jar of Meyer Lemons Preserved in Salt in the fridge, and Tunisian Style Meyer Lemons in Olive Oil. I am especially proud of the marmelade; have not made it in years. May have some in some tea....I need caffeine....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46am Threemoons:

Getting most marmalades to set up can be a pain. I didn't bother to do the whole thing with de-seeding and putting the seeds in a little bag for pectin; these were organic so I just washed em and sliced the whole lemon up, seeds and all, by hand, with a Chinese veg cleaver sharp enough to split atoms.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46am ratso:

Good morning, joe, and crew.

P20--it's really easy to make marmalade. You just want to be sure that you are using organic fruit that hasn't been sprayed with crap because you're eating the whole thing, skin and all. All you need is lots of sugar, lots of citrus, a pot, and time. You don't even need a candy thermometer.
Avatar 10:03am Rev. Turnip Druid:
