Handy: I've heard a soul version of "It Don't Come Easy", can't remember who it was, maybe Aretha. Pretty damn good too. Then again, a soul treatment can make any song good.

Highlights for me were definitely Butthole Surfers and Siouxsie, but in general I'm not a huge festival fan, especially for seeing a band like Butthole Surfers. That was a cool set, Handy: huge statue of a reclining Buddha iirc. And yeah Scott, of course Gibby had his shotgun.

	♥ 9:44pm Mariano: You know, I don't remember, Scott: Body Count was where I decided to brave the concession/bathroom line (over an hour), so all I heard was a loud 'I'M ICE MUTHAFUCKIN' T!" and then the band kicked in. I do remember a woman from an activist group getting into an argument with him over his violent lyrics. That just happened to go down steps from where I was standing, I think it was being filmed for MTV.

	♥ 9:53pm javakid: @Scott loudest for me was MBV at the Ritz (uptown) in 1992. They headlined with Pavement and Superchunk supporting. Absolutely the loudest experience of any kind I've experienced.

	♥ 10:10pm Handy Haversack: In Atlanta, the amphitheater venue was new -- might have been the first season. There hadn't been anything like it. Saw Lollas 1-3 there and WOMAD, which was amazing. For Atlanta, it felt liberating.

	10:20pm JakeGould: Festivals nowadays are out of control. At least Lollapalooza was about music when it started. Also, Janes Addiction was big in that brief 1990s window before Nirvana and grunge overwhelmed everything. Then American indie rock became it’s own “Meh…” scene. Before that Janes Addiction and tons of genuinely interesting Brit indie bands were out there. All I can say about Janes Addiction is that they were/are so much better than Red Hot Chili Peppers.

When they first started out, there was a fifth member, but they kicked him out because he was too much of a bloke: he was married, had kids, etc., didn't go with the overall vibe. He got the shaft, just like Clarence the fifth Beatle.

Highlights for me were definitely Butthole Surfers and Siouxsie, but in general I'm not a huge festival fan, especially for seeing a band like Butthole Surfers. That was a cool set, Handy: huge statue of a reclining Buddha iirc. And yeah Scott, of course Gibby had his shotgun.

	♥ 9:44pm Mariano: You know, I don't remember, Scott: Body Count was where I decided to brave the concession/bathroom line (over an hour), so all I heard was a loud 'I'M ICE MUTHAFUCKIN' T!" and then the band kicked in. I do remember a woman from an activist group getting into an argument with him over his violent lyrics. That just happened to go down steps from where I was standing, I think it was being filmed for MTV.

Also, Janes Addiction was big in that brief 1990s window before Nirvana and grunge overwhelmed everything. Then American indie rock became it’s own “Meh…” scene. Before that Janes Addiction and tons of genuinely interesting Brit indie bands were out there. All I can say about Janes Addiction is that they were/are so much better than Red Hot Chili Peppers.

When they first started out, there was a fifth member, but they kicked him out because he was too much of a bloke: he was married, had kids, etc., didn't go with the overall vibe. He got the shaft, just like Clarence the fifth Beatle.
