Gary! Wonderful to hear all that De La while I was getting set up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01pm Gary:

They've aged well :)

Hellos!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm Sam Segal:

Mayuko! Wonderful to see you. I was listening to your most recent archive this morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm chresti:

I frankly and sincerely love their horse.
Hi Sam and horse lovers!

Heya, Chresti and NGH!

"They Love Horses, Don't They?" might've been a cheerier movie than the "..Shoot..?" tale.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm Franco Twinkie:

Does The Staten Island Ferry count as a party barge?
Avatar 10:12pm Mayuko:

@Sam Aw thanks!!! Glad to be finally listening to your show live in your new (or no longer so new...) time slot.

Hi chresti!!
Avatar 10:12pm John from NP:

I like Ween, and I don't like Ween, all at the same time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm coelacanth∅:

hello Sam & all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm chresti:

They need to smoke more.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm chresti:

(the new batch of country singers)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Franco Twinkie:

Yes, Ween. But I seem to remember we discussed this once before. I watched a guitar tutorial with Dean Ween. The big take away was you should always wear your guitar between your tits and your dick. Brilliant -what else do you need to know?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Sam Segal:

@Franco, the Staten Island Ferry can certainly be a party barge. Pretty easy to brown bag a 24 ouncer bought in the terminal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Sam Segal:

Welcome, SBP, John, and Coel!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm Franco Twinkie:

Sam, I seem to remember eating a hot pretzel on that ferry, but I kind of got the feeling other passengers preferred huffing lacquer thinner on a sock in a paper bag.
Avatar 10:25pm John from NP:

Hi Sam, enjoying the show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm doctorjazz:

Hi! Dug out the old Wii, just played Dance Dance Revolution with the family. Winded...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm Sam Segal:

Thanks, John! Glad to have you hear. Where is NP?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm Sam Segal:

@Doc, I haven't played DDR in years. I'd like to revist the soundtrack. I wonder if there are any dance music gems.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31pm chresti:

I attended a 4th of July party on a yacht in the 80s, did not have a lot of fun.
Avatar 10:34pm John from NP:

@Sam NP= New Providence, NJ... the western part of Union county. Are you familiar with the area?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm chresti:

I never could get with the fun in the sun part of southern CA. living.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm Sam Segal:

@John, not as familiar as I'd like to be!
Avatar 10:38pm still b/p:

David Geffen posted about self-isolating on his 400+ ft. yacht. There was considerable online backlash/boatlash.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm Sam Segal:

Yeah, the COVID-related losses just keep coming...
  10:56pm Par Ubi:

Hey guys
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm doctorjazz:

John in FP, we're not far from each other. I'm in Westfield. Bike through New Providence sometimes. I'll wave next time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm Sam Segal:

Welcome to the Horse, Par Ubi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm doctorjazz:

Love Tim Berne!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01pm Sam Segal:

I've seen this Snakeoil group live. They're great.
Avatar 11:02pm John from NP:

@doctorjazz Nice. I got married in Westfield. If you see a really tall dude walking, that's likely me. I've been walking a lot to get out of the house during lockdown.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

wow this is fantastic
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

i mean Amazing!
  11:04pm rw:

Sam, I was just thinking this group would be great live.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

i guess it's both!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm doctorjazz:

Haven't seen Snakeoil, but have seem Berne in all shorts of groups, including one with Zorn that played Ornette Coleman's music. Hee gets an amazing, electric edge in his playing and his bands!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm doctorjazz:

And Butch Morris...we're I my neck of the woods!
  11:12pm Chris Farrell:

Hi
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm Sam Segal:

Chris! I played Party Barge for you earlier.
Avatar 11:15pm Mayuko:

This Hafez Modirzadeh stuff is fun, sounds very Kroncong to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm Phillippe Bastille:

Howdy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm Sam Segal:

Haven't actually heard of Kroncong until now, Mayuko. From the Wikipedia description it sounds wonderful. Will need to investigate further.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm Sam Segal:

Hey there, Phillippe!
  11:21pm Chris Farrell:

Amazing Mr. 7 and Fantastic Mrs. 10 must have split and made a Butch.

@Sam- I saw that and it rang my bell, I tuned in late due to accounting studies. The Silver Jews have had a big influence on my music taste in a short amount of time. They are fabulous. I used them to scare off intruders during the height of weekend festivities.

I also, successfully, thought of and forgot my introduction greeting this week on Saturday and into Sunday. The weekend festivities happened Friday and overall the shout out is appreciated, makes me feel pretty like a ⭐️. “Don’t worry, I haven’t heard of me either”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27pm doctorjazz:

Time to mediate, thanks, Sam! Night all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28pm chresti:

Night doc!
Avatar 11:28pm jena:

hey! glad to enjoy the show live again (finally)
  11:29pm Chris Farrell:

Two pickup lines I have added to my dating apps

“living in a land between two seas trying to conquer the great divide”

“I’ll rock climb, parasail, hang glide, or scuba dive, but don’t ask me to dunk a basketball because I can’t”

Insinuating that people want to line dance has not worked (yet).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31pm Sam Segal:

Glad to have you back, Jena!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm Sam Segal:

Glad you're being forthcoming about your inability to dunk, Chris. Nothing worse than making it to third date and ending up in a situation where your date expects you to be able to dunk on a 10' hoop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm Sam Segal:

Night, Doc!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm Franco Twinkie:

Chris, what's it like going out on a date these days? I can only imagine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm WR:

Hi folks. Have been listening but have been busy. I commented that at about 930pm ET. I was going to relax for 30 minutes & then do cat litter & garbage. Then my partner's computer crashed. Hard drive problem. Then our triple play tv, phone, internet service went out while my partner was talking to her mom on the phone. But electricity & water still work. And if you are reading this the cell phone service still works. Thank you for reading. no need to reply, just needed to vent a bit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34pm Franco Twinkie:

WR, where are you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34pm Phillippe Bastille:

Sounds like a bummer, wr. Cell service does seem to be working tho. And the cat box is clean so there's that too :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm WR:

I wonder if doctorjazz is actually mediating or it wasa typo and he is meditating.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36pm chresti:

I think I might be nervous about being expected to climb rocks, Chris
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm WR:

Queens NY. Oh, also police 'copter has been circling for the last hour. And I forgot to buy beer on my shopping run this morning. Quite an absurd day.
  11:38pm Dean:

You should always wear your guitar between. Full stop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm chresti:

Sorry WR, are there delivery options in your area?
Avatar 11:42pm northguineahills:

Digging this Moberg....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm WR:

Franco, hope the posole was good last night. I've tried making it a few times but never have been happy with the results. And (normally) can get great bowl plus tostadas for $8 just a few blocks away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm coelacanth∅:

ahh. i may finally fully listen.
- and the high frequencies are unpleasant...
  11:42pm Chris Farrell:

Want to line dance?! I KNOW they like to line dance! Now the only trick is that there are multiple tricks. One involving democracy the other ... and a (random rules again)

@Franco- I’ve had interest but nothing serious yet. Hoping my luck changes and I can show off Pickleball skills and spot for lunch at a local establishment. It’s harder than I expected but my ☘️(Irish) dads unrelenting positive self image mentality has worn off on me.

@Chresti- the rock climbing is a bit risky (I pictured indoor rock wall climbing). The hang gliding though is definitely something I would need practice at (I would think) and scuba diving certification is needed but illegal scuba diving doesn’t bother me, once again yet. I may punk out at the last second due to fuzz.

- after almost posting this I realized I am way too confident in my parasailing skills.
Avatar 11:45pm northguineahills:

@coel: I heart ultrahigh frequencies. I may be half deaf, w/ tinnitus, but I still have my full frequency range of hearing...(I can hear when a tv or laptop has been turned on just based on the frequency).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm coelacanth∅:

statistically hang gliding is far more risky than bungee jumping or skydiving; but it must be far more enjoyable too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm Franco Twinkie:

Well WR, it was a young soup. You know how that goes, it needs to develop. But hell yeah, if something in the outside world is better than what I come up with, I'm there! But of course lately....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm chresti:

Chris, how about croquet or horseback riding, or prospecting?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm coelacanth∅:

ngh i've always been sensitive to the ultra highs.
i also still have the range still. (supposedly i have the hearing of an average 17-year-old) and i'd like it to stay that way, and the highs are what kills your hearing, generally.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm WR:

I am liking this Hideki Tohgi, interesting traditional sounds but think extended.
  11:50pm Chris Farrell:

I think I saw it look really easy in a movie (Harold and Kumar) and have since then believed it to be easy like riding an elevator.

I saw an inspirational commercial about COVID narrated by a “cockney?” British voice over. Their accent made the commercial very pleasing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm doctorjazz:

Back, I was meditating. Been trying to daily, 10-20 minutes, have read it's a useful skill.
Avatar 11:52pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

This is pleasing to listen to.
Avatar 11:52pm northguineahills:

Thanks, Sam! Equine love abounds!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm Phillippe Bastille:

Thanks Sam. Good night everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm Franco Twinkie:

So Chris, you're a sportsman. That's great - you can write AND throw a ball, You'll probably do well with that balanced skill set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm coelacanth∅:

(jeez i must be tired)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm chresti:

Goodnight Phillippe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm coelacanth∅:

g'night Phillippe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm Franco Twinkie:

Nite, Phil.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm WR:

G'night Phillippe
Avatar 11:54pm Mayuko:

So glad I tuned in tonight! Thanks Sam!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm doctorjazz:

I jag the hearing off a 60 year old at 20 (notch of loss in high frequencies on tests) too much loud music. I can still hear piercing highs and be irritated by them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm Sam Segal:

Glad you could make it, Mayuko!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm Sam Segal:

Cheers, Phillippe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56pm Sam Segal:

Ending on a sad note tonight. Got word during the show that Lee Konitz has passed away at the age of 92. Expect a deeper appreciation of his genius next week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm doctorjazz:

nice trio... Konit, is still playing, I think. Must be a hundred and fifty by now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm doctorjazz:

Shit! I should read before I post! Feel awful...and I really liked Konitz...
  11:58pm Chris Farrell:

@franco- thanks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm doctorjazz:

Seen him a bunch of times too...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm Sam Segal:

I was really bummed when I saw the news too, Doc. I was always amazed how active he remained into his 90s.
  11:59pm rw:

Happy to have been quarantined on this cruise. Thanks Sam. Sad news about Konitz but 92 is a pretty good run. RIP LK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59pm chresti:

Thank you Sam and horses for a pleasant evening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59pm WR:

I work on telephone and a 10 or more years ago was doing some testing of circuits and was shocked to find out how bad my hearing is, in regard to high frequencies. Have not tested recently.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00am coelacanth∅:

it's a good run, true.
sad that it's covid 19 though.... for some reason.
rest in peace.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00am Franco Twinkie:

Shows over, my hair is dry, I can lay down now. Thanks Sam.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01am doctorjazz:

He did great stuff in the 40s and later, alwaysdid his own thing (when everyone else wanted to be Charlie Parker) RIP
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01am WR:

Thank you Sam. G'night all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02am coelacanth∅:

i think i always had trouble distinguishing sounds from other sounds. even as a child. so that that's an issue now is not due to age - though it should be!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02am chresti:

A hearing test is on the list of things my doctor wants me to schedule.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03am doctorjazz:

What did you say?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03am coelacanth∅:

Thanks Sam! take care everyone be safe and be strong.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03am doctorjazz:
