Howdy everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm redkayak:

Good afternoon/evening fellow passengers :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Yvang:

Hello and Tabarnak, David and passengers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm chresti:

Hi David and riders!
Avatar 3:03pm Bas NL:

Hello David & subwayteers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm fred:

Hello David and fellow travelers. Looks like this train is big enough to keep a proper distance from each other. I claim the bar area
Avatar 3:03pm TDK60:

Wie gehts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Yes ! From Skeleton Mothership , jettisoning the CremoCoil, to Leipzig I go! Howdy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm David Dichelle:

Ahoy there Cmurtha, Redkayak, Yvang, Chresti, Bas, Fred, TDK60!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm David Dichelle:

And Kevin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm David Dichelle:

I hope everyone is doing as well as possible out there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm KevinfromBayRidge:

My sugar snap peas are emerging from the earth. How could it be bad?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm doctorjazz:

Hello stationary travellers!
Avatar 3:08pm TDK60:

I'm reporting from the current epicenter. I'm okay so far, enjoying wearing my bandannas. Out of a job tho.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm David Dichelle:

Hello Dr. J!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm David Dichelle:

Sorry to hear that, TDK60 - stay safe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm redkayak:

@David - Ahoy captain! Steady as she goes ;)
@TDK - Yikes. Take care!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm fred:

@doctorjazz: did you manage to hold to your bandcamp abstinence vows so far?
Avatar 3:11pm TDK60:

I've heard there are half a million of us thrown out of work, just in NYC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm David Dichelle:

I hope things can somehow return to semi-normal soon, TDK.
Avatar 3:13pm northguineahills:

ahh, I have that Dulcimer album!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm David Dichelle:

Hey, NGH!
Avatar 3:16pm TDK60:

Thanks David. I'll take a /better/ normal than before...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm fred:

I still have a job, and I've never worked as much. Some people are very happy with this situation with all work limits off and many desperate people to replace those who burn out or get sick. They won't let "normal" come back if they can help it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm doctorjazz:

Hey, Fred, so far been holding out. Been ripping and sharing stuff I've got, getting some stuff that way as well, and catching up with the ridiculous amount of music I already have, but haven't had time to listen to. Been having some withdrawal, though, get the shakes off and on...
Avatar 3:26pm Sem:

Good evening, David, and all aboard.
That Maddy Prior, love the voice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm David Dichelle:

Good early evening to you Sem, can't agree more!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm fred:

@David: there's a version of Gypsy Davey (aka Roud 1) by Kikagaku Moyo that is getting some airplay on the station these days
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Brian in UK:

Hello David and reluctant trainees.

TDK60 sometimes good comes out of bad. Glass half full. Take care. Confusing times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm chresti:

I still have a job, no work tho. I opted out of Disaster Service work because of my age and health concerns, that's the only work available for park employees at the moment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm David Dichelle:

Good evening Brian!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Brian in UK:

David, guess you have played the numerous Matty Groves/Little Musgrave versions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm David Dichelle:

Thanks, Fred, I will definitely have to look into that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm David Dichelle:

Brian, that's coming up in a few weeks, in fact.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm doctorjazz:

Taj Mahal does Blackjack Davey, very cool.
Avatar 3:35pm TDK60:

Thanks Brian, yes, glass half full. Chresti hang in there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm David Dichelle:

Black Jack Davey is Roud number 1, which started off the series last June.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm Brian in UK:

David is that case can I direct you to Martin Simpson's Little Musgrave.

First track on Harry Smith's wonderful Anthology.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm WR:

This song, so good, is on the Harry Smith collection with is burned into my brain as much as any Beatles song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm David Dichelle:

Thanks, Brian!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Brian in UK:

@WR they did like the expression 'lilly white' in those days
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm David Dichelle:

Hey there WR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm dutchtheo:

Hey David and folk, great roud!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm David Dichelle:

Hello and thanks, Dutchtheo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm Brian in UK:

All friends around the Roud.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm doctorjazz:

Thus Motel Glory track is cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Jeff Golick:

Don't want to be roud, so I'll say hello.
Avatar 3:44pm Sem:

Wow, some performance!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Uncle Michael:

hello
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm David Dichelle:

Hey there Jeff, Uncle Michael, Granny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm fred:

Nick Cave does know his way roud murder ballads
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Stanley:

Friends.
A great album, this Nick Cave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm WR:

It is the Dick Justice Henry Lee version I referred to. Haven't heard all these other versions. Liking this Nick Cave version
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm chresti:

Thanks TDK60.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

WR: yeah, that Harry Smith collection just increases in its marvelousness as the decades roll along…
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Brian in UK: why does no one sing "contractor white" in a song?
Avatar 3:51pm TDK60:

The current governor of West Virginia is named Justice. (But I don't think he knows much about the concept.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Brian in UK:

Think it does not scan. Maybe try Cabbage White!! Lots of butterflies about at the moment, trying to eat our cabbages.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm David Dichelle:

Greetings, Stanley!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Brian in UK: yeah, "contractor white" might work better in hip hop. Hope you get some of them cabbages, too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm WR:

Ok, break over, back to work, still listening sorta. Laters all ya'll.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm David Dichelle:

Take care, WR
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Brian in UK:

@GST there are also mild frosts to undermine the good work.
Been doing chicken coop maintenance today, half the chooks sleep in one and the others half in another. I had to close one down tonight so it was all in one coop. They are a bit like us, finding it difficult to accept a new arrangement. Much muttering.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm Carmichael:

Heya David.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm David Dichelle:

Hello Carmichael!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm chris:

Salam, David and folks. glad to finally be aboard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm David Dichelle:

Welcome aboard, Chris!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm chris:

dang. missed a great Roud. note to self to listen to archive later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Brian in UK: maybe an extra helping of cabbage will cheer your chooks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm fred:

@chris: what goes roud comes aroud; thank Bob for the archives
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm David Dichelle:

Yes, I am often an archive-listener myself, so glad to have them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm chris:

amen, fred! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Brian in UK:

@GST they are spoiled creatures, with rice, spinach, pasta , toms and allsorts for a lunch time snack. They might have laminate flooring tomorrow. A result of a leaky heating valve in the house lifting the floor. Pipe and slippers next!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Brian in UK: they got it GOOD!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Phillippe Bastille:

Howdy
Avatar 4:25pm TDK60:

Funny title there, Deuter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm David Dichelle:

Hey there PB!
Avatar 4:26pm Sem:

Lovin' this, not least for the title.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

so pretty!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm doctorjazz:

Off to bike, thanks, David, be well, all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm David Dichelle:

Take good care, Doc!
Avatar 4:28pm Bas NL:

Just received the nicest 'be well' card from my sister. Her 'bad-virus' drawing's now my new avatar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Phillippe Bastille:

later doctorjazz. Please put in an extra half mile for me so I can cross exercise off my list. I'd rather nap
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm David Dichelle:

Bas: A "be well" card is such a great idea!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm chresti:

That's great! @Bas
Avatar 4:34pm TDK60:

Bas, nice sister you have.
Avatar 4:35pm Bas NL:

@David: Made my day! I think it is a super idea to send cards to people you care about!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Stanley:

Nice jazzy, funky version of Caravan, this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Stanley:

Mmmm Steve Hillage stylee
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I have very fond memories of the C64!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm dutchtheo:

Cool, Bas, best part of my job, is to deliver such cards, be well!
Avatar 4:46pm Bas NL:

Thanks @dutchtheo! You spread happiness!
  4:48pm spodiodi:

wrote a BASIC program on a C=64 emulator earlier today for kicks-- been lurking, thanks, David! (esp for the murder ballad ;) back to the lurk...
  4:49pm spodiodi:

C=64 was my first love
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm fred:

GST is in the business of spreading happiness too. I think there's a way you can get em to send you a one-of-a-kind postcard
  4:49pm spodiodi:

rip Ryo Kawasaki
Avatar 4:51pm TDK60:

I love sending/receiving post cards. I always put my cards into an envelope. These days I wonder if I'd spray a card with alcohol. Or, leave the card in its envelope for 2 days to kill any virus before sending...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm chresti:

I think the virus lives for 4 hours on paper/cardboard.
Avatar 4:54pm Bas NL:

@TDK60: The virus doesn't survive long outside humans.. Chresti beat me to it; 4 hours it is?
Avatar 4:54pm TDK60:

That's right Fred, Granny mentioned it the other day, her cards. If you go to her WFMU profile, you can email for specifics. Need to do that..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm David Dichelle:

Hello Hopey, Spodiodi, and all other C64 alumni!
Avatar 4:55pm TDK60:

Chresti, Bas: 4 hours is better than 2 days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm dutchtheo:

Yeah, spread happiness, not germs! TDK60, they do that actually, In my mothers nursing home, they keep the mail in quarantine for two days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm fred:

I never asked, but you might it e wants you to return the favor
Avatar 4:57pm Will in Bloomington:

I just tuned in & omg this is really cool
  4:57pm JakeGould:

Hey David! Listening and working.
Avatar 4:57pm Bas NL:

I've used the C64! Long ago..
Avatar 4:57pm TDK60:

Any post card can wait a bit, eh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm David Dichelle:

Welcome, Will and Jake!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm fred:

aargh! should have been "I never did, but you may want to ask whether e would like you to return the favor", not the word salad I posted before
Avatar 5:09pm StringOFperils:

Fantastic composition. Avner Dorman. Best thing I've heard this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm chresti:

That's what I heard, 4 hours, but 2 days sounds like it would be plenty time to be on the safe side.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm chresti:

...Or you could wear gloves.
  5:13pm spodiodi:

24h i think
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm fred:

@chresti: that timeline also sounds like a good guideline for replying to an infuriating email from one's boss. Not sure about the gloves though
  5:15pm Tamar:

You KNOW I am enjoying this immensely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Phillippe Bastille:

@Fred maybe boxing gloves...

Hey Tamar!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm David Dichelle:

Been snowing pretty hard for the last hour. I mean, c'mon!
Avatar 5:17pm Bas NL:

Or be safe and wear velvet gloves? (And yes, great composition this.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm David Dichelle:

And hello ßrian - cold here again as well, but we haven't had real snow all winter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm fred:

@Phillipe Bastille: Good point, these would make it impossible to type anything. Which doesn't matter, since all they can read is "yes, beloved lord, I'm blessed to be bestowed your wisdom"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm chris:

warmer than expected here, βrian. its 75F/24C just north of SF. very spring feeling. hope you get some warmth to the air soon.

damn shame I just heard of Aliss Firsova now....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm chresti:

I prefer it chilly too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm Phillippe Bastille:

@doctorjazz you apparently missed my request to put in an extra half mile for me. I should be fairly winded by now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm David Dichelle:

Welcome LOT - and welcome back Dr. Jazz, hope your ride was a good one.
Avatar 5:36pm northguineahills:

Nice article in NPR blog about shopping and handling food (my kids are adamant about leaving all food and groceries in the garage for 3 days that don't need refrigeration. Makes me crazy (while I was working, my older daughter wouldn't come within 8 feet of me, which I got. Then again, she did that before COVID-19 as well).

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm doctorjazz:

@Phillippe, you got a good workout, you should be a bit winded (but not all that sweaty because it's a but cool and windy out). You should just be lying I the need listening by now.

Hi Tamar- I really believe the biggest risk is person to person. I don't sterilize all my packages.

(I'm trying to get IRS stuff done, so, my attention is elsewhere, whom am I kidding, my attention is always never anywhere).
Avatar 5:53pm βrian:

Sterilizing one's package can reduce the chance of unintended pregnancy, however.

i'm with you, Dr.J. though i don't live in a super active outbreak area, either. i unpack everything i can, dispose of outer packaging and wash hands. hopefully that works. so far, so good.
