Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Jason, I'm not getting a signal overhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am
joe:

'ello folks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am
fred:

No sound at all here, though the song title shows up in the player
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am
joe:

Same here.
Or maybe we are listening to John Cage and I'm being presumptuous.
Avatar 11:04am
Jason Elbogen:

Hmmm... the bed music was on my phone.
Avatar 11:05am
Jason Elbogen:

could you try one of the other alternate streams?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am
joe:

Drummer is working
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am
joe:

Ichiban as well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am
fred:

Drummer works. The pop-up for Sheena doesn't work either (no sound)
Avatar 11:08am
Jason Elbogen:

hmmm... it was working originally. I'll try to disconnect and reconnect, sorry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am
Jan Turkenburg:

Now, there's music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am
Jan Turkenburg:

Ah, there's Jason's bed music!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am
fred:

It works!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am
joe:

all through Tune In as well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am
joe:

...All good that is.
The app is good too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am
fred:

Some other DJs also like to start their show with their theme song, Jason, you're not alone
But your voice was really faint though
Avatar 11:12am
Jason Elbogen:

ok, i'll work on that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14am
fred:

The music level is fine, the bed music was too. Did you tune the mic level for Jacob's guest appearance?
Avatar 11:18am
Mr Fab:

Hi Jason and fellow Jungle Roomers (Jungle rumors?)
  11:19am
zmzz:

so many message and info on the album jacket
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am
fred:

Great set so far
Avatar 11:24am
Jason Elbogen:

Thanks Fred, you tolerate my disjointedness.
  11:26am
Martinibomb:

Hi Jason and peoples of FMU. I hope everyone is healthy today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am
fred:

I don't tolerate it, I love it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am
fred:

Voice sounds good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am
fred:

I might have met Regis Turner (probably). I definitely know Inès, she's also in Rose Mercie, who got some airplay on the station
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am
joe:

@Mr Fab I can not stop singing Sheena's Jungle Rumors to the Bananarama tune over and over in my head
  11:57am
zmzz:

yey
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am
fred:

Kind of, but I'm not the oldest either. The regulars in that small noise/experimental/DIY scene range from 20ish to over 60. I'm definitely in the upper range though
Avatar 12:02pm
Jason Elbogen:

Zmzz--were you the one who asked for apocalypse music last week?
Avatar 12:03pm
Jason Elbogen:

Fred--the range is cool. (Especially that kids in their 20's are still doing it)
Avatar 12:06pm
Mr Fab:

@joe: That's a good one! I think Timex Social Club would work , too: "Sheena's Jungle Rumors/round here every day..."
Avatar 12:11pm
Mr Fab:

jason, i don't know if you heard Ursula 1000's show yesterday here on the Room, but it was dedicated to the same type of mutant-disco as that Kelin & MBO track you just played. Coincidence?! (he says with an arched eyebrow)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm
fred:

@Jason: Inès is probably a little over 25 (she was in high school when she started playing music in that scene)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm
joe:

I have to disagree. I'm sorry to say I think his second in command would be WAY more dangerous then he is. Which I know is saying a lot as he is pretty much the worst
Avatar 12:24pm
Jason Elbogen:

Joe-I've heard the same argument from someone from Indiana, but I don't buy it for this reason: Pence doesn't have the cult-like following/'charisma' (if you can call it that).
Avatar 12:25pm
Jason Elbogen:

And Pence isn't noticeably deteriorating before our eyes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm
fred:

Well, many people are saying that wearing a mask might not work all that well to protect you, but might be better at protecting others. So why would he wear one?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm
joe:

To your point of his followers another reason you don't want him dying in office because then he becomes a martyr
Avatar 12:31pm
Jason Elbogen:

Not suggesting death. Unable to speak would be fine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm
joe:

Oh god I think I have been wishing that since I was like 12. :)
Avatar 12:32pm
Jason Elbogen:

But to Fred's point--used correctly, the correct type of mask does a very good job protecting you (which is why hospital workers/doctors are clamoring for them)
Avatar 12:33pm
Jason Elbogen:

But yeah, on a society-whole level, it protects the general populace from those who already have it best.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
fred:

My point exactly. Do you think he would put one on correctly? Then again, the fake tan might make an effective sealant
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm
fred:

Well, The Tower was something. The sound and voice effects took it to another level. Not saying a higher one
Avatar 12:37pm
Jason Elbogen:

Memory is a funny thing. I could not remember the name of the LP/musician for several days after the show last week--and I tried as hard as possible--but then it just appeared in my mind.
Avatar 12:45pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah, The Tower was nutty, gotta find me a copy. And does the story continue to feature a flying Trump lookalike a la the album cover?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm
fred:

"The light at the end of the tunnel is just the light of an oncoming train"
  12:53pm
zmzz:

just got back from post office. did i miss dj telly savalas apocalypse moment?
Avatar 12:56pm
Jason Elbogen:

yeah, znzz, it started the last set... sorry--but you can check out the archive tonight
  12:59pm
zmzz:

btw yr will on the air haf t say twice to yr mext kin ozerwise it's invalid.
  1:17pm
zmzz:

he he he
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm
Sem:

Along for the last bit of today's show, Jason. This Ariel Hart sounds like the pure folk music of the 50s, maybe earlier.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
fred:

So, "Funny You Should Say That" wasn't the actual title?
Avatar 1:30pm
Jason Elbogen:

Funny you should say that, Fred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
fred:

Hi Jacob!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Nice gospel song!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm
fred:

I think Nisennenmondai were named after the Y2K bug scare
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm
fred:

Thanks Jason. The good side of this is that I can listen to your show
