Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

There was a furniture factory near my house when I was a kid. We loved their dumpster - it had all kinds of interesting scraps of wood. One day the dumpster was filled with fluorescent tubes standing straight up - they must have changed out the whole factory. Well, there was a slow moving rail road line on the side. The next train that came by, we had a spear chucking party against the side of the moving box cars. After, the place looked a snow storm had passed over.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Uncle Michael:

Goyim! Absolutely right.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Uncle Michael:

Doc, this probably was practice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm melinda:

I had to step out to look for provisions. Did Uncle Michael have an accident?
Avatar 1:17pm Dominick:

Anyone else seeing parallels between "Lifehouse" and what we're now going through?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Funky16Corners:

Greetings all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Uncle Michael:

Larry!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Michael 98145:

hello, folks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm doctorjazz:

It does sound like they're just going at it for fun.
  1:18pm Listener Gregory:

@dan, thanks. Of course, since I've never heard of him, he has played on 150 albums.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Funky16Corners:

I arrive late, defenstrated, and wondering what I can manufacture for dinner tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm doctorjazz:

The band is tight, though, Pete is hot!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm doctorjazz:

Still figuring out breakfast and lunch...potato chips, maybe?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Uncle Michael:

Defenestration is my favorite form of murder!
  1:21pm Dean:

Tonight's a stir fry with eggplant, green beans, peppers, and a Thai-ish sauce, served over rice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Funky16Corners:

If the other humans in this house don't get it together their getting Peanuts Thanksgiving for dinner (toast, pretzels, popcorn and jellybeans)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Listener Bob in PGH:

This song title is an example of bad grammar!
Avatar 1:21pm Little Danny:

Heya UM and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm Funky16Corners:

This Inner Dialogue is nice. The girl singers remind me of Brasil 66
Avatar 1:22pm Listening Out There:

The Inner Dialogue = A McGaskoesque selction
Avatar 1:22pm Little Danny:

@UM: I repped Topeka last night on my show. That doesn't happen every week.
Avatar 1:23pm Little Danny:

I had no idea there was more than one Inner Dialogue album. That was better than anything on their first LP IIRC
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Stanley:

@melinda: he came off worse in a three way fight between a flannel bedspread, an flourecent light and an over-enthusiastic washer-man
Avatar 1:24pm Franco Twinkie:

Larry, my first Good Friday meal of the day was baked chicken, a pickle, a bitten up pizza crust and coffee.
Avatar 1:24pm still b/p:

Ohhh, yes, I see you sure enough can see people fighting with tubes or breaking them on the YouTubes, and a guy running through 70 of them set out in a close series in front of him. Poison, shmoison. One man's crackpot dumbassery is another's carpe diem, I suppose.
  1:25pm Mark R:

This Little Denise track has all the soul the Inner Dialogue track lacked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Funky16Corners:

@Franco - That's what it's been like. I've been cobbling together all kinds of stuff to prevent waste. Made a nice vegetable soup the other day,
Avatar 1:25pm StringOFperils:

HI rhythm section. Sweeeeeet
Avatar 1:25pm Little Danny:

Hi Records!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm doctorjazz:

Hi sound is my sound! (Going through a box set of Al Green singles).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm melinda:

@Little Danny I assumed Inner Dialogue was a one-time thing too.
Avatar 1:28pm Franco Twinkie:

still b/p, if there had been video back in the day, I'm sure my shenanigans would have landed me in jail.
Avatar 1:29pm Little Danny:

@doc: I've been on a Hi Records tear recently. Such a distinct terse sound. I love Wall of Sound productions and I love, in Hi Records' case, whatever the opposite of Wall of Sound records are it turns out.
Avatar 1:29pm Little Danny:

@melinda: ALL THE MUSIC got released in the late '60s it seems
Avatar 1:29pm Listening Out There:

UM may be a murderer, but Jerry Lee is The Killer...
  1:30pm Dean:

Diaphanous tissue of sound?
Avatar 1:31pm Little Danny:

Of course that too sounds of interest Dean
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Funky16Corners:

Piaf covers Convy?
Avatar 1:32pm Little Danny:

A UM record if there e'er was one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm doctorjazz:

LD, me too...have a Hi Records box set somewhere. .I'm sure you're putting on the 45's.
Avatar 1:35pm still b/p:

Same here, Franco. Or at least the more defiant reckless pursuers of stunts and bad ideas in the hometown gang would've ended up jailed -- though we all dabbled in some real crimes and low-grade delinquency together. The same indifference to consequences that fueled the activities would've encouraged capturing it on video -- heyyy, why not?
Avatar 1:36pm Franco Twinkie:

Michael, I was in the kitchen when you back announced the bit about Garcia and Booker. Is this out there, or some you gleaned from sources?
  1:38pm Dean:

Exile was a rip-off of Exile in Guyville, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm WR:

Franco, I know of one (maybe two) concert audience recording of Booker with Garcia.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm doctorjazz:

Quick Google has this site and links about Garcia/Booker.
www.jazzfestforum.com...
Avatar 1:45pm Franco Twinkie:

WR, I saw James Booker when he was the piano player in Dr. Johns band. It freed up Mac to dance around wearing a bonnet of feathers while he threw glitter into the audience.
Avatar 1:45pm Listening Out There:

I recently read a book about Brill Building composers, "Always Magic in the Air," and the author did a great job of bringing up how often B sides often did better than A sides....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm Funky16Corners:

Jeez, those harmony vocal sound like Styx
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

@Funky16Corners: Oh thanks, now I can't unhear that :)

Thanks UncleM! BE CAREFUL!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm WR:

good google doctorjazz. I have at least one of those that I downloaded somewhere, and of course can't find it yet.

Franco, I spent a few years in NOLA and have a few Booker stories as many people do. Did not get to see him with Mac.
Avatar 1:48pm still b/p:

I heard that, too, and looked at band info to see if someone in it went on to Styx.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Funky16Corners:

It looks like they were NY area. One of the guys ended up playing with Southside Johnny
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm chresti:
