Here's a link to the Arts Covid Big List/ – an extensive list of Relief and Resources For Artists, Freelancers, and Non-Profits: http://artscovid.org/

Also: BRIC has created a great resource list for artists during the viral crisis:

How the Arts and Culture Sector Can Prepare for the Coronavirus in the United States

As we take heightened precautions to support public health initiatives, including temporarily closing our doors, we want to maintain our unwavering support of the artistic and creative community and ensure that you continue to thrive. To that end, we have compiled a list of shared resources from local and national arts and culture organizations.

These resources offer assistance, such as financial support and opportunities for artists to continue to express their creative potential during these difficult times. They should not be mistaken for public health information distributed by city and state authorities.

In the coming days and weeks, finding ways to support one another will become especially crucial. At BRIC, we reaffirm our commitment to support visual artists, performers, and media makers as we unite Brooklyn through art and creativity, together, to build community and make change. We hope you will find the links below to be of use to you and your creative community as we all navigate the impact of the novel Coronavirus/COVID-19.

We will continue to add new links and resources over the coming weeks. Please check our blog for updates, or follow BRIC on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook @bricbrooklyn.

I have to confess, I didn't select it, our brilliant Monty Hall video guru Ruth Hayduk who is board op tonight did! It was an 11th hour decision, I uploaded my show later than I should, there was a glitch and no time to re-up it so she made the call. But I am glad you are happy with her choice of archive! Ruth just has the magic touch - all of us at FMU know that already!

The Count of Al Dente:

Glad to be hearing your great show again. One of these days I'll digitize the cassettes I have of the show from the 1980's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm
Rob W:

Hi listener 126464: I didn't actually have a hand in getting the Mustaphas to Maxwell's actually. It was an odd night - one of the band-members had a little tantrum because he wanted the DJ to stop spinning records so they could start their set! I still see two of the leaders of the band (not that one though) when I goto the WOMEX conference in Europe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm
Rob W:

As I mentioned earlier, apologies but ignore the giveaway offer of course - sorry about that but there will be more in the future, once the world returns somewhat to normal!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm
Rob W:

Good luck Carmichaels! By the way: I learned that one of the members of the band Monsieur Doumani whose session / interview I had planned to air today (and will air next week instead) tested positive. They're young though and he got through it okay.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
listener 126464:

Thanks Rob, I had a feeling you would have some insight on that night
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
Rob W:

@The Count of Al Dente: Speaking of the 1980s: You don't happen to have a tape of the show I did from the WFMU transmitter shack with John Sherman and Atmosphere Crew playing live in the parking lot of the adjacent Japanese steak house, do you?! Nobody has ever found a recording of that one...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm

Oh and ignore the "upcoming" announcements - except that you can look up that Petula Clark show with Gaylord, Irene's Citizen Kafka tribute (and the other shows I mentioned) in the archives of course

Rob, that doesn't sound familiar but I might. I'll try to get to that task before the year ends.

My rigatoni and melanzano parmigiana will be ready soon despite my 'dancing'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm
Rob W:

By the way, one other thing I had intended to air this week was a tribute to Manu Dibango, who passed away this past week - I will air that next week, with a nod as well to Arlus Mabele, leader of the Soukous band Loketo, who also passed away this past week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17pm

Not sure it's called art in my kitchen, definitely Pollock-esque preparations though.
Sounds (although sadly)like a great show next week. Looking forward to the tributes and Monsieur Doumani set.
