Avatar 12:01pm Mary Wing:

Hello radio pals, today's show is from the archives. I am not able to stream from home yet.
  12:01pm John from Florham park:

Hello fellow 100 percent listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm Rich in Washington:

Hi Mary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm Doug Schulkind:

100% Mary Wing!
  12:02pm John from Florham park:

Hey Mary hope you can do live from your home
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm chresti:

Hi Mary and wingdingers!
  12:03pm John from Florham park:

Not that I am being impatient:)
  12:03pm John from Florham park:

Still morning to you chestri
  12:04pm JosephB:

Hi Mary and wingers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Carmichael:

Heya Mary.
Avatar 12:04pm Mary Wing:

I'm working on it, John, but it's not sorted out just yet. :-(
Next week I should have a new, pre-recorded show ready if I still can't get it all together for live streaming.
Avatar 12:05pm Franco Twinkie:

Reporting for duty! Now where did you put the paper towels? I can't do a goddamned thing without something to wipe down the control panel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Phillippe Bastille:

Wassup Mary and friends?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm Rich in Washington:

This show still sounds 100% fresh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm Rich in Washington:

How do they do it, do you ask?
Why, they're VACUUM PACKED for freshness!
Avatar 12:08pm Mary Wing:

How is everyone holding up? I, personally, *detest* working from home, but I am thankful that I still have a job, heh.
Avatar 12:09pm Mary Wing:

Heh heh, Rich; let's wait until the mic break to see how fresh I sound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm Doug Schulkind:

The only reason I'm out of my pajamas is to walk the dog. Of course, she's still in her pajamas.
  12:10pm John from Florham park:

&Nary wing just do what you can
Avatar 12:10pm βrian:

I like working from home, ok. But since we've had a little one land in our laps, it' more complicated.
  12:10pm John from Florham park:

I mean Mary wing sorry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Rich in Washington:

The secret is to put a saltine cracker in your show before freezing to help preserve the relatively delicate mic breaks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Phillippe Bastille:

I've been working at home for 25 years, so there's no adjustment there. Staying engaged with the work I have has been a bit of a struggle however
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Rich in Washington:

Last night I sort of dreamt along the lines of the 2012 film First Winter and then woke this morning to snow.
Avatar 12:14pm JakeGould:

Whatever indeed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm Michael 98145:

howzit, friends
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Mary Wing is 100% whatever, whenever!
Avatar 12:18pm Mary Wing:

Thank you, chresti, for clicky-strarring the Menimals track. Something about that person's voice (I still don't know if it is definitely a man's) just massages my brain cells.

It will be interesting to see if the music generates more stars this time around, heh. But then, I had less commenters back in 2018, so it would stand to reason that I would have less clicky-stars, no?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Carmichael:

And wherever!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Handy Haversack:

Sorry I'm late! Took a brief screen break. Hi, Mary, Wingnuts!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Rich in Washington:

Fancy fretwork. Me like!
Avatar 12:20pm βrian:

I'm maintaining clicking distance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Carmichael:

Love your Bobby Bittman avatar, Rich!
Avatar 12:22pm Mary Wing:

Let me officially greet everyone, since I'm not frantically trying to figure out what to play next, heh. Hello John, Rich, Doug, chresti, JosephB, Carmichael, Franco, Phillippe, Brian, Jake, Micheal, Ken, and Handy! We are all in this together; although I am also simultaneously in the past with this show, whee!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Rich in Washington:

HOW ARE YA, Carmichael!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Michael 98145:

radio is stronger than pathogens
Avatar 12:26pm Mary Wing:

Ah, I see Duane's show is an archived one as well; it's the battle of the rebroadcasts!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Yeah, Skeleton Manager Ken said Duane's show was from July 3, 2019.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Handy Haversack:

It's new to me! I followed the cool kids over here only in Dec. or Jan., I think.
Avatar 12:30pm Mary Wing:

Yes, A newbie whatever welcome to you, Handy!

Hmm, Duane or the board op can't update the playlist on his page?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm doctorjazz:

Hello Mary and 100 percenters!
Avatar 12:31pm βrian:

This is usually about when I head out to the Poached Halibut With Roasted Red Pepper Coulis Cart.
Avatar 12:32pm Mary Wing:

Hello doctorjazz! I am checking the comments from the original playlist (they are hidden but I can see them) and you were there, as well as Carmichael, Ken FHP, and Brian, so welcome back to this show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm chresti:

In most cases of playing from the archives, I do not notice until the dj informs us that it is so.
I like that the DJ has more chat time with the listeners.
Avatar 12:34pm βrian:

Hmm, what was for lunch then?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm Phillippe Bastille:

@Mary looks like you winning the comment board competition with Duane... Go us!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm Handy Haversack:

100 percent!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Phillippe Bastille:

There seems to be the window-treatment-disappearing thing going on again. I get Petty blue if I look at another tab (Firefox) and return, until I do a screen refresh. Then it's curtains/drapes once again.
Avatar 12:39pm Mary Wing:

Live playlist for the win!

(And hello to Will in Bloomington, I see your clicky-star up there.) :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Phillippe Bastille:

I like this song. Click-worthy
Avatar 12:40pm Franco Twinkie:

This is terrific!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Carmichael:

Did I click Bill Alves back then? If so, I did it again today ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Phillippe Bastille:

So you can see who clicks each song, Mary? I'm mortified that someone could actually tell how many Bad Company songs i've clicky-starred
Avatar 12:43pm Mary Wing:

Be right back, my laptop is flaking out and I need to restart it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm chresti:

Haha Phillipe! I learned that on a show that I was listening to and not commenting, when the DJ said my name.

Avatar 12:50pm coelacanth∅:

anybody else?
probably my whackbook.
Avatar 12:50pm Franco Twinkie:

Okay! Now I've got someone to look into - Trevor Babb. I was mightily impressed. What a commanding sound he gets from his telecaster.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm Michael 98145:

okay here on the left coast.
Avatar 12:53pm david w:

Hello, Mary and all!
  12:54pm Mary Wing:

My laptop and/or the internet is having a meltdown, sorry for the delay in updating the playlist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Handy Haversack:

@PB, coela: It's happening to me, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Michael 98145:

yes, me, too, now
Avatar 12:56pm JakeGould:

@Mary: Don’t know if you have connectivity issues or PC issues, but I found out by accident this week that all of the major providers — Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon — are enabling mobile hotspot, lifting mobile bandwidth caps and ignoring minutes used if you are on a per-minute plan. So check if your phone is showing you can do a mobile hotspot to get Wi-Fi your PC can connect to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Michael 98145:

that's okay. i'm watching the morning news talking heads talking from their own homes. very Ray Bradbury.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm steveo:

Hi Mary! Hi Everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Conversely, the disappearing curtains happened to me last week or the week before, but working fine today. (Firefox on Windows10)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Michael 98145:

even when i reload the page, it now looks okay again

  1:05pm Mary Wing:

My kingdom for a stable internet! I can't get the playlist to refresh!
  1:07pm rw:

Mary! I'm listening from the future!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Doug Schulkind:

Actually, tonight on Bodega Pop Live at 7pm (ET), Gary will present...

It’s All Too Much: The popular Egyptian singer rumored to have been poisoned, stabbed, and castrated by the Saudi royal family. Strange, super-rare Vietnamese pop emanations. The Nigerian superstar with 27 wives. Emphatic tracks from Italy, Korea, and New Zealand. The forgotten Osaka she-punk pioneers whose limited complete discography dropped this month. The most volatile post-punk band of all time.

Followed by Sam Segal and If You Lose Your Horse, at 10pm (ET).
  1:08pm Mary Wing:

These upcoming show announcements are obviously not coming up...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Phillippe Bastille:

@Doug I'm intrigued...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Michael 98145:

yes
  1:09pm rw:

Oh, and just so you know, the future SUCKS!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm Michael 98145:

Avatar 1:10pm coelacanth∅:

yeah -i've seen the future, brother, it is murder.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm doctorjazz:

Roscoe Mitchell, cool track (bet I commented the last time I heard the show as well). Actually saw him at Carnegie Hall around that time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm chresti:

I hope Gary was able to work the kinks out of his laptop..
  1:14pm rw:

Crap. Where are my manners? I forgot to say hello. Hello!!

Michael, this is opening up new opportunities as well. lots of "curbside pickup" means lots of credit card numbers given over the phone. easy pickins.

"Only $37,024 Left to Go!" At this rate, it'll be before month's end. Has Fearless Leader chickened out on the nude photo? It's got to beat drinking his own urine, which we might all be reduced to if the shutdowns go far enough!
Avatar 1:26pm Mary Wing:

if I had been doing a live show today, I assure you that I would be screaming and in hysterics right about now. The internet is trying to kill me, in slow motion.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Handy Haversack:

She's even doing a little shimmy, Mary! ding!
  2:16pm rw:

coel, I think that may have been me.
Avatar 2:16pm coelacanth∅:

maybe killdozer did a version
Avatar 2:16pm Mary Wing:

Sadly, no, Ken, heh.

Singing along in falsetto, rw?
Avatar 2:16pm coelacanth∅:

rw haha!
  2:18pm rw:

Just texted a friend. He said he and his family are doing concerts in their front yard for the neighbors. No more than 10. 6 feet apart.
Avatar 2:18pm coelacanth∅:

see, i think he's saying "rock me baby".
works either way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Michael 98145:

thank you for being here for us ♫
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm chresti:

Excellent idea, rw.
  2:20pm JosephB:

All these covers are making me want to rock an actual baby
Avatar 2:20pm coelacanth∅:

ooh i like Gwen's voice
Avatar 2:21pm coelacanth∅:

(even if she can't hit the highs)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm chresti:

Is Gwen related to George?
  2:22pm rw:

Joe, I've been wondering if this quarantine will be producing a mini baby boom.
Avatar 2:22pm coelacanth∅:

chresti, spouse
Avatar 2:22pm Mary Wing:

I think they were married?
Avatar 2:22pm βrian:

I was sure that was the theme to Our Man Flint, and it was. Stream jumping due to the vpn, I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Michael 98145:

now we're cookin with gas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm chresti:

I know it has produced more divorces, rw
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm fred:

Good afternoon Mary and all
Avatar 2:23pm coelacanth∅:

damn, i hope not rw.
Avatar 2:24pm Mary Wing:

Yeah, rw, I'm wondering how many babies will be born in 9 months, and how many divorces will happen as well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If we can replace Ronald McClownface, it may be worth the hassle.
Avatar 2:25pm coelacanth∅:

i hope the stimulus package comes with condoms
  2:25pm rw:

Ha! coel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Handy Haversack:

Subsidized vasectomies!
Avatar 2:26pm Mary Wing:

Hiya fred! How are things on your side of the screen?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm chresti:

Hi fred
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Stanley:

Nice version on Ken's show today. Check it out if you need more Rockin' Baby!
  2:26pm rw:

fred!
Avatar 2:26pm coelacanth∅:

i'm not going to not keep listening, but now i really want to hear "yes i'm ready"
(esp the Tom Moulton remix)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm fred:

I'm into my second week of lockdown, so things are pretty boring (I'm thankful for work). I miss not being able to take a long walk (and live shows, obviously)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Michael 98145:

another inspired 3oak choice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm chresti:

You can`t go for walks? That sucks, fred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Michael 98145:

at least we can still walk outside
Avatar 2:30pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Howdy! Here for the duration. Enough news shitshow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm steveo:

took kid to playground for some socially distant biking and running. oh good, i didn't miss the kitamura
Avatar 2:31pm Mary Wing:

I went for a walk last night; surprised at how many people are still outside. I guess they thought the same, seeing me, heh.

Hi Kevin!
Avatar 2:31pm JakeGould:

@KevinFromBayRidge: How you holding up? I’m doing fine here one the other side of the Ridge.
Avatar 2:33pm KevinfromBayRidge:

My runs are my tenuous link to sanity. That and some interesting high ABV IPAs in the evening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm steveo:

we've also been having a family jump rope contest; that sure gets the heart going
Avatar 2:35pm coelacanth∅:

this 3ok is smooth, with a nice finnish
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm steveo:

yeah, i went for a walk yesterday evening and there were a lot of people out (in brooklyn)
Avatar 2:36pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hey Jake(et al). This side and the bikepath are doing okay. Are the Middle Eastern places by you still open for takeout? Seems like ALL Chinese places are closed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Phillippe Bastille:

All this foot tapping I'm doing is disturbing the wildlife living under my office
Avatar 2:36pm Mary Wing:

A jump rope contest, I like it, steveo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Phillippe Bastille:

Yes! Ken played this this morning! Love it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm steveo:

oh i see that Ken also put this version on his playlist this morning as "rock me baby"
Avatar 2:38pm northguineahills:

The Emerson Kitamura is my fave, even better then the original....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm steveo:

yeah, Mary, my dear spouse's idea. i've improved a lot, I'd never gotten the hang of it before
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Phillippe Bastille:

@NGH I agree!
  2:40pm rw:

My buddy (who is doing concerts in his yard) just sent me the link to his daughter's bandcamp page. Toggling back and forth between that and 100% but it sounds good! Good enough I'm going to share it here! https://liviareiner.bandcamp.com/album/so-im-not-gonna
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm steveo:

what ngh said; also, ngh, i did see you reply to me the other day, but not until that show had ended; did your job start, or still on hold? such a crazy time; i hope it is and/or will work out
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Handy Haversack:

Agreed, NGH&PB!

Hoping to get a walk in later while still allowed. I assume Newtown Creek is still there, but I would like proof.
Avatar 2:40pm KevinfromBayRidge:

I Third that!
Avatar 2:41pm KevinfromBayRidge:

@ Handy. If you can walk on it, it's still there!
Avatar 2:42pm coelacanth∅:

weird how people can be extraordinarily coordinated at some physical activities and exceptionally spastic at others.
...never gotten the hang of jump-roping.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Handy Haversack:

They don't teach it in the CHUD Bunker, eh, Coela Prime?
Avatar 2:43pm coelacanth∅:

...or hula-hooping
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm steveo:

on the first day i got up to 8 consecutive jumps and i was like, OOH that's a new record for me. i guess i found a good teacher, finally
Avatar 2:44pm Mary Wing:

I can jump single rope but not double-dutch; it's been a lifelong dream, really, but I think I need to let that go.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm steveo:

yeah i'm useless at hula hoops
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm chresti:

Haha wildlife under the office.
  2:44pm rw:

I ALMOST won the hula-hooping contest in 4th grade.
Avatar 2:45pm coelacanth∅:

no Handy...mostly just shooting canons and drinking beer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm steveo:

my spouse, who is the house leader in single jumping, also says she never got the hang of double dutch; maybe because she grew up in maine instead of nyc
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Phillippe Bastille:

I could never roller skate, for some reason.
Avatar 2:45pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

OK, I guess this is the sign of snapping. i was thinking there must have been a "gas station tape" cover version of the song in Finnish - while such cover version was indeed playing - I mean wtf, don't I recognize my language anymore? Well, it was not from an actual gas station tape at least. Those things were indeed sold at gas stations and had usually no originals, just soundalikes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Handy Haversack:

Those guys know how to party! Now I wish I had a CHUD Bunker, too ...
Avatar 2:46pm northguineahills:

Well, the beeb put it perfect w/ the current administration underlings when speaking, "Pyongyang on the Potomac".
Avatar 2:46pm Julien à Montréal:

"But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Rock Your Baby.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Phillippe Bastille:

@Handy Amazon can get you one by Friday
Avatar 2:48pm Mary Wing:

Hiya Photocopy Cha Cha! They actually call them gas station tapes? Over here, they would be called something else but I don't recall off the top of my head. K-Tel used to put out comps but they were the original artists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Handy Haversack:

Bien dit, @Julien!

You're special, too, ABBA!

@Phillippe: What I need (from some non-Amazon source) is like a 40' Ethernet cable ... but yeah, a CHUD Bunker would be an acceptable substitute!
Avatar 2:50pm coelacanth∅:

okay -George McCrea; then a 3-4-way tie.
Avatar 2:51pm Mary Wing:

Salut, Julien à Montréal! First time here on the whatever playlist?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Phillippe Bastille:

Oh no! Stream death!
Avatar 2:51pm KevinfromBayRidge:

No VTuner!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Stanley:

Reboot Reboot!
Phew!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm steveo:

same
Avatar 2:52pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

@2:48 Mary Wing: well yeah, service station cassette would be even more direct translation from the finnish word("huoltoasemakasetti"). Our broadcast company YLE aired a 2 part special on those things. I guess I have the other part somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Handy Haversack:

It came right back after I hit Pause and Play again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Phillippe Bastille:

Oh yes! Iiiittts baaaaack!
Avatar 2:52pm coelacanth∅:

oh i again assumed that was my whackbook
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm steveo:

I'm pretty sure my hitting pause and play is what fixed it though, handy
Avatar 2:53pm david w:

100% fabulous. Thanks, Mary!
  2:53pm rw:

Me too. I was worried for a second it would be more like 90% Whatever.

Mary, I just realized you're typing in the songs as they go along!
Avatar 2:53pm JakeGould:

@KevinfromBayRidge: “Seems like ALL Chinese places are closed.” Yes, they are pretty much all closed. Including laundries. Fear of racist backlash. The middle eastern places are open for takeout and the supermarkets are very well stocked.
Avatar 2:53pm Julien à Montréal:

Hello Mary Wing, Long time listener, first time caller, as they say on Brian Lehrer.
Avatar 2:54pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

This song is what I need right now, I actually prefer this to the "heavy" stuff like Plastic Ono Band or Imagine.... DANCE DANCE DANCE
  2:54pm rw:

Or maybe copying and pasting...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Phillippe Bastille:

@steveo so the shock paddles I placed on each side of monitor was overkill?
Avatar 2:55pm Mary Wing:

THANKS For Listening! It might get loud.
Avatar 2:55pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Sad, Jake, Sad.
Avatar 2:55pm JakeGould:

And when I say “fear of racist backlash” I mean I am making a very good speculation, but many just outright closed last week before PAUSE kicked in or was even mentioned. 99 cent stores and such.
Avatar 2:55pm Mary Wing:

Oh, totally copy and paste, rw.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Stanley:

Very enjoyable, Mary, thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm steveo:

hey cha cha, whatever gets you through the, uh, day

@phillippe, on second thought that must be what fixed it
Avatar 2:56pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

Thanks Mary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Handy Haversack:

Thanks so much, once and future Mary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Phillippe Bastille:

Thanks Mary! And according my non-scientific measurements, you crushed the comment board battle, 12 scroll wheels to 7!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm steveo:

oh, OH! thanks! mary!
Avatar 2:56pm JakeGould:

Anyway, can’t sprint a marathon! And happy to have gotten some sunlight yesterday the it was sunny.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks, Mary. Was that a 'ding' or are my chicken tendies done in the toaster oven?
  2:57pm rw:

Thank you from the future Mary Wing! Perfect!! Stay safe and probably see you soon everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Phillippe Bastille:

@coel no commercials

Avatar 2:58pm Julien à Montréal:

Thank you Mary! Amazing show!
Avatar 2:58pm Mary Wing:

I manipulated the archive before it was uploaded originally, coelacanth, so the time is all wrong. Removed a lot of dead air, heh!
Avatar 2:58pm coelacanth∅:

Phillippe right!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Phillippe Bastille:

Ok, board mates, I'm seriously behind on work today. Catch y'all tonight!

Thanks Mary and other wingers!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Handy Haversack:

You mix a hell of a caucasian, Mary!
Avatar 3:02pm coelacanth∅:

(i'd go with the black russians, myself)
Avatar 3:03pm Mary Wing:

I don't drink my coffee black so my Russians follow suit, heh.
