Hi, Bethany! And apparently goodbye to -Ken's nudie shot now that we're days away from the goal. Probably saving it up for a big surprise, like on a billboard.

calming. thank you in these crazy times.

Anyone pick up a good book this week, maybe one that had gathered some dust on the shelf?

I'm craving for some photographic books, but I haven't opened one yet.. it is like only thecraving and no mood,
Avatar 8:26pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

speaking of online cookbooks: the hangover food recipe no.1 (not mine): bake french fries and heat up a can of pea soup... and pour the soup (the thicker the better) over the fries when both are ready to serve. sounds awful! and tastes awful....ly good!

...reading these short stories by Delmore Schwartz. Odd that fiction feels so needed now, at a time when we're roiling beneath a tsunami of fictions. Go figure. ps thx for all you do @FMU

Just started a memoir of childhood, Cider with Rosie, by Laurie Lee (1959).

Gotta say his symphony moves along faster than his boulevard.

@Photocopy Cha Cha: Pea Soup Poutine?
  8:41pm Dean:

Did I just miss an entire Bruckner 3? Who conducted? Orchestra?
Avatar 8:42pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

@8:37 p20: not quite: no gravy or cheese curds. Pea Soup Poutine sounds delicious and like real food, but just to mix canned pea soup with fries is simple trash - but oh so delicious as well (and also vegan friendly should you be able to find vegan pea soup)
Avatar 8:44pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

really should use the time to get into s.barber's music, I have surprisingly few listening experiences with his music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm p20:

@PCC: I thought the soup was taking the place of the gravy. But yeah, it's not poutine without cheese curds.
  8:46pm Dean:

Start with Gil Shaham's Violin Concerto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nzaftnHAZQ&list=RD3nzaftnHAZQ&start_radio=1&t=0
  8:48pm Dean:

Ah, thanks.
  8:49pm Dean:

If that was the recent-ish DG recording, though, it was the 1889 version.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm p20:

Consistently impressed by how well WFMU listeners know their music!
  8:51pm Listener Robert:

Yay! I've been waiting for classical mash-ups for, like, ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm p20:

I think I know what I'm making for dinner tomorrow: Vegetarian Poutine = French Fries+Pea Soup+Cheese Curds. How could that be bad? (Thanks PCC for the inspiration)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm mariano:

Well I suppose it's no different from putting gravy on fries. I can see it being good. Though I'd opt for the carnivore version, with cubes of ham or bacon.
Avatar 8:55pm Bethany Ryker:

@Dean, yep, you're right. You might not have heard me say my bit on-air that Bruckner revised the 3rd symphony (and many others). We did in fact hear the revised version in the recording.
  8:56pm Dean:

Yeah, he was (in)famous for the revisions, many prompted not necessarily by his own musical instincts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm p20:

@mariano: OK, you can have all the cubes. I only eat icosahedra.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm mariano:

D20 Pea Soup, yum! Thanks Bethany, stay safe!
  8:58pm P-90:

Special thanks @Bethany for making sure there was an oven-fresh new installment of A440 tonight. It counts for a lot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm listener 126464:
