Welcome dear Greasers One and All,
to another installment of Global Grease.
Tonight - anything goes.
Much love. Enjoy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm listener james from westwood:

Best two words in freeform: anything goes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm doctorjazz:

Anything goes...sounds dangerous!
  7:01pm John from Florham park:

Hello fellow greasers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm Phillippe Bastille:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm Phillippe Bastille:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm KimSorise:

Hello, Hello! Welcome. Welcome. Get comfy and enjoy.

Hey James, DocJazz, Phillippe, JFFP
  7:05pm John from Florham park:

@Kim howdy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm doctorjazz:

Hey, John FFP and all you Greasers out there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm doctorjazz:

Such a Bitches Brew vibe here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm KimSorise:

Certainly does, DocJazz - the break down gets a more sloppy though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm doctorjazz:

They didn't have Teo Macero to edit and pre it all together...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm KimSorise:

nope
  7:19pm John from Florham park:

Looks like I heard something else on the drummer a couple of times
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm doctorjazz:

Here too, not long, but the stream broke through a couple of times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm KimSorise:

My fault. Sorry.
  7:21pm John from Florham park:

It’s cool Kim
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm doctorjazz:

Dig this Can...should know them better...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm chresti:

Hi Kim and Greasers!
  7:23pm John from Florham park:

Hey chestri
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm KimSorise:

Hey Chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm KimSorise:

My favorite part of this is Sylvester's ad lib at the close.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm doctorjazz:

Hi Chresti!
Boppin: along here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm chresti:

Hi doc and John!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm doctorjazz:

I remember the Ze label because I was a big King Creole fan.
  7:35pm John from Florham park:

Been listening to a lot of WFMU Kim, trying to avoid the news
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm doctorjazz:

I'm obsessed with the news (but still manage to squeezein a lot of FMU)
  7:38pm John from Florham park:

@Doctorjazz if I need the news I will listen to the BBC or the CBC and maybe from the pacific radio Australia
  7:40pm John from Florham park:

I REFUSE to watch cable news
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm doctorjazz:

Doesn't leave me much time to listen to record arrivals, but I've been liking a vinyl reissue of guitarist Duck Baker, Spinning Song plays the music of Herbie Nichols. He's a ragtime guitar player who somehow discovered free jazz.
  7:41pm John from Florham park:

@Doctorjazz did you find that on band camp?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm KimSorise:

I learned of Ze because is the Contortions.
I am avoiding the news at all costs except a couple times a week I will watch our new governor's daily press conference.
No national shit
More records
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm doctorjazz:

My news consumption includes: NPR, NY Times, the Times podcast "The Daily", New York Magazine, many Washington Post articles, and related feeds (it's exhausting...).
  7:43pm John from Florham park:

@Kim good for you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm doctorjazz:

Have the Contortions as well, forgot they were on Ze! Saw then live, back in the 80s.
  7:45pm John from Florham park:

@ Doctorjazz I would say so get the BBC iPlayer they have other things on there besides the world service
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm KimSorise:

I think after years in news it is easy for me to compartmentalize and thankfully not need it daily. I am a hell of a researcher - so I will always find what I need. I don't love or enjoy the feed.
  7:46pm John from Florham park:

Ohh love iggy pop
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm KimSorise:

Ohh wee! @DocJazz! The Contortions.
  7:47pm John from Florham park:

@Kim do a lot of reasearch too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm chresti:

Meee too!!
  7:49pm John from Florham park:

@Chestri you love iggy too?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm chresti:

Yes. This set, too, Abbyssinians, Scientist..love
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm Doug Schulkind:

Hello, everyone! You are all heroes of your own lives!
  7:51pm John from Florham park:

@Chestri anyone who loves iggy is ok with me
@Doug howdy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm chresti:

When you said contortions, I thought you were referring to Iggy @Kim
  7:53pm John from Florham park:

Now Lou reed I am in heaven
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm chresti:

For one day, at least @Doug
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm doctorjazz:

James Chance and the Contortions was my reference.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm doctorjazz:

They were very New York.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm KimSorise:

No - I was speaking of James Chance. But both are sublime and Iggy is flexible.
Avatar 8:01pm coelacanth∅:

hey Kim and all
  8:04pm John from Florham park:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05pm Doug Schulkind:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm KimSorise:

Hey Major Doug! Howdy Coel!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm Doug Schulkind:

This show is scratching some major itches.

Listening = self-care.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm KimSorise:

What up JtotheK!
I know right NGH - shit it could have been real bad for us here in the bluegrass.
Avatar 8:10pm northguineahills:

(Been listening to the lab a lot recently, their lyrics, which took me some 20 years to understand, are empowering) Probably my fave pop group.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm doctorjazz:

Stereolab...another band I probably should know more of...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm KimSorise:

Subtext of he show, Doug. LOVE.
Avatar 8:11pm northguineahills:

So, i hit the big 44 today, so my landlord was going to go to the liquor store, and they closed an 3 hours early (he said they were open normal hours Saturday, and we've been under curfew since Friday night).

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm doctorjazz:

Bit of Neill Young in his singing. (Not a bad thing)
  8:18pm John from Florham park:

@NGH the supermarkets in Florida do have beer and wine
  8:18pm JtotheK:

Book Talk: I am about to start ‘Songs in the Key of Z’ ... I suspect required reading for FMU; and it’s a nice diversion, and likely will lead to more for the want list.
Avatar 8:19pm coelacanth∅:

hey John hey dr.j!
happy birthday ngh!
Avatar 8:20pm northguineahills:

I had a friend buy shitty beer, but I'll have to drink a lot and fast just to get a buzz, and a crappy one. (Supermarkets are now closing early around 8).
  8:20pm John from Florham park:

@NGH bummer
Avatar 8:20pm northguineahills:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm doctorjazz:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm KimSorise:

Avatar 8:26pm northguineahills:

At my age, doing a beer bong alone seems really weird (hmmm, I"m already considered by some to be really weird),
  8:28pm John from Florham park:

@NGH my middle nephew is trying to have me play beer pong, I tell him not only no but HELL NO
  8:28pm CC:

  8:37pm John from Florham park:

*I tried almost every other substance out there before alcohol.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm KimSorise:

hahah @coel. I would stand at the door and convince party goers to share their wares with the whole party -collected the booze and head down the street to my buddy's house. It worked well a few times.
  8:47pm John from Florham park:

@Kim hee hee hee
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm KimSorise:

in junior high - kids are easy to work over
Avatar 8:47pm northguineahills:

I made ghost pepper infused tequila before. Let's just say it took me about four months to polish it off, I could barely take a sip. Delicious, but way too hot, even for me...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49pm WR:

Not that nothing else you played didn't move me but those two made me dance and squeal so I had to pause cooking to hollar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm KimSorise:

So nice WR - glad you enjoyed it and got in an improptu dance party!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm chresti:

Haha coel@8:40
