With billows and blasts from choirs and orchesters
Buskers and talkers
Big bands and squawkers,
the Stork Club has retained its qualities of decaying elegance and dwindling significance since the late 1950s.

Is it true that Rahsaan Roland Kirk named his instrument, the stritch, after Elaine? (No. No it isn't at all true.)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Rob W:

Photocopy Cha Cha, we just visited your lovely country for the first time, back when visiting was possible this past fall. My better half Katie especially enjoys the cold water plunging and the sauna culture! (By the way that's pronounced SOW-nuh, not SAW-nuh, my fellow Americans.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm spodiodi:

multi-colored awesome
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@ngh - I'm not sure how Finns will dance the tango while remaining apart.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm fred:

Just to make this isolation thing weirder, I've started reading a book in French. That hadn't happened to me in over 20 years
  2:20pm Naila:

Greetings from the UK. We’re in a lovely Sunday routine of bath time with my 16 month old son with the Stork club. I’m a new listener but loved every show so far. Looking forward to delving into the archives.
Avatar 2:24pm Wolfgang:

Hello Nalia,
what a sweet thought - babies bathing, grooving on the Stork Club! Welcome.

Shame Lloyd Webber is evil mind https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/nov/07/andrew-lloyd-webber-tax-credit-cuts-bridget-christie
Avatar 2:26pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

@2:15 Rob W: cold water plunging, whoah. My blood pressure issues mean it either could be a cure or the opposite. I don't go swimming during the winter because of that. But I do swim some 200 meters almost every day until the autumn solstice, it pretty cold then, but also... pretty! Swimming on your back in a misty lake under a starry sky is one of those experiences that make life worth living. Weirdly I am NOT a sauna person - but you got the pronunciation right!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm doctorjazz:

Sign of the times...i saw a few Sondheim pieces played, and Googled to see if he died (Happy Birthday Stephen!)
