Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar 4:11pm solo mon:

Hey mr fab ! Loved that first track!
  4:11pm Martinibomb:

@sol I happen to have some charles wilp on vinyl sitting next to me
Avatar 4:12pm solo mon:

Granny how was ur party??? I lent some lights to JB for it!
Avatar 4:13pm Mr Fab:

thanks, solo mon! Lemme tell ya, Martinibomb hisself has a most excellent track as well on this comp. All tracks have to be under 90 seconds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm notsoKWYET:

LOVE THE SAMPLE IN THIS... I dj'd this song last night
Avatar 4:16pm solo mon:

Birdy num num
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

solo mon: ha ha! JB said she "borrowed" the lights and i'm guessing there was no stopping her! But it sure made the karaoke party extra wonderful! Thanks!!!
Avatar 4:17pm Domenic:

U1K nice track. Who was Mr. Hrundi?
  4:18pm Martinibomb:

@Dom Peter Seller in The Party
Avatar 4:18pm solo mon:

Granny: was happy to be able to share the light! Xo
Avatar 4:18pm Domenic:

Thank you! Was mixing it up with the Breakfast at Tiffany's guy...
Avatar 4:20pm Archivist Vivian:

Hi, I'm just here to say hi quickly. I have to go out but I will try to make it later. xoxoxox
Avatar 4:21pm solo mon:

Yay Charles wilp and dauerfisch two of my favs
  4:24pm Martinibomb:

New track from Archivist Vivian! Way cool, nice work!
  4:24pm Vivian:

I forgot my E-mail I use for this so I’m gonna be guest.
  4:25pm Vivian:

This is the “world premiere” of the song, the album’s not out yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Otis Fodder:

Just got back home, caught tail-end of Georgy and here for some of those weekly song-droppin'-bombs Mister Martini!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm Otis Fodder:

...and just in time for the good doctor!
  4:28pm Vivian:

You get a point if you know the name of the old man who was singing.
Avatar 4:30pm Mr Fab:

Cool tune! Was that song referring to the guy from Half Japanese?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Otis Fodder:

I have to work on my track tonight.
  4:31pm Vivian:

Yes. I saw one of his paintings on my Facebook feed and decided I should write a song about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

yeehaw!!!
Avatar 4:34pm solo mon:

It’s great!
Avatar 4:36pm solo mon:

It reminds me of something... uhhhhh
Avatar 4:37pm Mr Fab:

Yeah, that "Jakarta' track was cool. Music for a real low-budget James Bond rip-off.
  4:38pm Martinibomb:

@fab yeh I love that track I wish I knew if that fella had made more
Avatar 4:40pm Mr Fab:

hilarious!
  4:40pm Martinibomb:

Going to play an excerpt from my Dj Premium next
Avatar 4:41pm Creature Boy:

Heh heh
Avatar 4:44pm solo mon:

!!!!
Avatar 4:46pm Mr Fab:

This shit's HAWT!!!
Avatar 4:46pm Domenic:

Processing....Processing....
  4:47pm Martinibomb:

Thanks! I know this mix is pretty insane...
  4:48pm Martinibomb:

I love fuckin' shit up tho. And I'm really into this anti-vinyl DJ thing .. using digital samplers. So it has a different take
Avatar 4:49pm solo mon:

Who needs drugs anatomywayyyys
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm Otis Fodder:

Recognize some of the vinyl samples on top, did those come from you can sample? Very cool.
  4:49pm Martinibomb:

you got it Otis! Glad you recognized those
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Otis Fodder:

I am a lover of vinyl and digital. Cat and dog person too. :)
  4:50pm Martinibomb:

@Sol I keep thinking you would have a blast Djn like this. I make a ton of edits/loops etc.. in Ableton and then export to the SP404
  4:51pm Martinibomb:

I love music and I don't care what format it's on.
  4:52pm Martinibomb:

@Sol ohh actually I'll be performing this mix live at the Waypost March 4th as part of Freeform Portland's 4th-anniversary party.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm Rich in Washington:

My favorite music format is between 30hz and 30khz. I like my music audible.
  4:53pm Martinibomb:

@Rich I prefer 21khz :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Otis Fodder:

I am anti-chocolate-chip bagels. My bagel format is between Sesame and Rosemary. I like my bagels edible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm Otis Fodder:

I just convert everything to 432 Hertz
  4:54pm Martinibomb:

^BWHAHahah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Rich in Washington:

I can no longer hear anything above 20khz anymore but I remember it fondly.
Avatar 4:55pm Domenic:

Ugh. Same here.
  4:56pm Martinibomb:

my eyes have been getting worse as I come closer to 50... I'm sure my ears are next
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Rich in Washington:

Too many shows at the Satyricon and Pine Street Theater, using the PA mains as a support to stay upright near the stage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Otis Fodder:

Makes me laugh when us elders talk about vinyl vs cd vs digital. It's like, hey, our ears are failing and we are listening on varied systems in locals. I am just thankful I can hear and make out and groove, laugh... and sometimes cry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm Otis Fodder:

I can't even see this rosemary bagel I am eating without my glasses.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm Otis Fodder:

Ha, well not here in Sheena's but on those hi-fi forms online with serious threads about vinyl vs digital, it's so just wow at times, great to read with bourbon!
  4:58pm Martinibomb:

I am just so glad that music stays with us our entire lives and never goes away even if you get dementia
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm Stanley:

Soundwaves, man, soundwaves rule.
  5:06pm Martinibomb:

Thanks Stanley!
Avatar 5:06pm geezerette:

Stanley, you soundwave surfer.
  5:07pm Martinibomb:

Catch a soundwave and you're sitting on top of the world
Don't be afraid to try the greatest sport around (Catch a soundwave, catch a soundwave)
Everybody tries it once
Those who don't just have to put it down
You paddle out turn around and raise
And baby that's all there is to the coastline craze
You gotta catch a soundwave and you're sittin' on top of the world
Avatar 5:08pm geezerette:

Martini B, @458: digging this set soooo much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm Stanley:

Not trying to be funny, or anything but...... jeez this track is good.
  5:09pm Martinibomb:

Thank you so much Geezerette that means a lot to me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

ha ha! i had to mute wfmu to make a call. i was put on hold and was subjected to a cheesy piano myuuuzack version of "California Dreamin." Totally forgot i wasn't listening to WFMU!!! harrr
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

When i hung up i was all like, what happened to the music?!?!
  5:20pm Martinibomb:

I wish I could have piped that piano muzak into this show Hah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Martinibomb: it was so perfect!!!
  5:25pm Martinibomb:

nothing more I would like than muzak version of that song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm Otis Fodder:

I often get confused with multiple or non-wfmu streams. More than once I have been playing a record/cd and had stream(s) up and had to double check to see what I was listening to. Ha.
  5:29pm Martinibomb:

I have had the same experience it's like sitting in a car and the car next to you starts moving and you think it's the car you're in .. and you get this slight car sick feeling
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - 101 Strings do a good muzak version. Dream on, drift and float away... www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Otis Fodder:

One of the lesser great cuts on this killer 101 Strings LP, www.discogs.com...
Avatar 5:32pm solo mon:

Cool stuff MB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm Otis Fodder:

I know the car thing... have experienced that too. On the train as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm Otis Fodder:

ha, but not the city bus... holding on for dear life... you know when you are a-movin'!
  5:37pm Martinibomb:

Thanks @Solo
Avatar 5:40pm Mr Fab:

The "hip-hop isn't music" blather goes back to rock, jazz, etc. I love reading about the science of music (well, i love reading about the science of most everything), but when the author of one book stated that rock wasn't a legit art form until The Beatles, I felt like throwing the book against the wall.

Nothing against the Beatles, they were great, but come on...
  5:40pm Martinibomb:

@Otis I need to pick that 101 strings up. Some cool shit on that one!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - Still on my 'vinyl' want list... but we know ways to 'seek' the 'soul' ... that we do!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm Otis Fodder:

@Mr Fab. You got that right!
  5:42pm Martinibomb:

@Fab yup I just think it's funny when it comes from trained musicians. And literally the guy was using a loop pedal extensively in his setup. His partner was on my side. Lol and he brought up Hip Hop isn't music out of the blue which was odd I thought.
  5:42pm Martinibomb:

Playing a track from Solo Mon here... remixed by another friend of mine
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Otis Fodder:

I don't want to live in a world without Rakim and KRS-One.
  5:43pm Martinibomb:

^Me either! You can't tell me that is not music. IN FUCKING SANE
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Otis Fodder:

Not only poetic teachers... but the producers, the music, the beat, the beat.
  5:44pm ?:

Oh I just realized what this was!
  5:45pm Martinibomb:

Hip hop samples tons of music that Sheenas listeners are into.. and I have no problem playing hip hop in that regard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - Yes!
Avatar 5:48pm solo mon:

Thanks for the flash back MB
  5:49pm Martinibomb:

Monkey +1 kicks arse. I've known him a long time since the mid 90s. Always thought the LaRue connection was rad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

ha HA!!!
Avatar 5:53pm solo mon:

I think the reason I got into hip hop was because of the excellent taste in samples!!!! I mean J DILLA for one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Otis Fodder:

Look at you, Cali Dreaming. Go MB! I am listening to you and Kenzo at the same time. I am in the middle of it all and it's mixing PERFECTLY!
  5:54pm Martinibomb:

@gran @otis haahah
Avatar 5:54pm Mr Fab:

Ha, you found it. "You're call is very important to us, please stand by..."
  5:55pm Martinibomb:

@Sol hunting for samples def caused me to get more heavily into music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

The "California Dreamin" i was subjected to sounded more like a Windham Hill release
Avatar 5:59pm solo mon:

Granny were there Peruvian flutes???
Avatar 6:00pm solo mon:

Oh my god! OH DAD
  6:01pm Martinibomb:

This song rules
Avatar 6:02pm solo mon:

Meal hefty
Avatar 6:03pm solo mon:

One of my fav soundtracks, terrible film tho
  6:03pm Martinibomb:

I have not seen the film but yeah with you on the soundtrack
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

solo mon: it was solo piano!
Avatar 6:05pm Mr Fab:

I have that soundtrack. Saw it in the bins, and thought "Should I buy this? Let us examine":
a) It's called "Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mom's Hung You In The Closet And I'm Feeling So Bad"
b) it was 99 cents.

BOOM.
Avatar 6:05pm Mr Fab:

oh, and:
c) Neil Hefti
  6:06pm Martinibomb:

Bargain!
Avatar 6:07pm solo mon:

ruined mostly by Jonathan Winters
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm coelacanth∅:

hey Martinibomb and other various bombs
  6:11pm Martinibomb:

Hey coelacanth∅! hows everything?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm coelacanth∅:

...working, checking in intermittently all day and still; but listening pretty steadily
-how'zit with you?
  6:18pm Martinibomb:

I am literally getting dinner ready while I DJ.. ez tho I just made a pasta sauce from scratch. Butter, Tomato Sauce and half an onion
  6:19pm Martinibomb:

My Dj booth is in my kitchen Hahah
Avatar 6:20pm geezerette:

Mmmmmm... :D
  6:21pm Martinibomb:

I know! I'm hungry right now Lol
Avatar 6:27pm Mr Fab:

I think I have this song on a biker movie soundtrack. Don't remember which movie though...
  6:28pm Martinibomb:

Satan's Sadists
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm Rich in Washington:

Satan's Sadists is my all time favorite bad biker film, right behind The Born Losers.
Avatar 6:30pm Mr Fab:

Ah yes!
Before metal took ownership of satan songs.
  6:31pm Martinibomb:

I concur it's a great fucking biker film I love it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm Rich in Washington:

I've been lately making tomato-based sauces from scratch, lately MB! Don't know why I never have until now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Rich in Washington:

Born Losers is notable for the introduction of Billy Jack.
Avatar 6:32pm Mr Fab:

I wanna make a sequel called "Jesus' Sadists."
  6:32pm Martinibomb:

@Fab a Christian Biker film! I LOVE IT
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm Rich in Washington:

That would be awesome! Weren't there insane plans for an Easy Rider sequel, like with Hopper and Fonda's characters being resurrected or something?
  6:35pm Martinibomb:

Zombie Easy Rider
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm Rich in Washington:

Ohhh. There WAS an Easy Rider prequel, made by someone who'd secured the name. It sounds horrible. It may be the christian biker movie you're after! Leonard Maltin rated it a 'Bomb'. en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar 6:39pm solo mon:

Oh man... what’s the British one where the motorcycle gang commits suicide so they can be invincible??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm Rich in Washington:

Oh yeah. What IS that called?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm Rich in Washington:

Psychomania? But I think that's not its only title.
  6:43pm Martinibomb:

Whaat that sounds cool! I don't remember that one
  6:43pm Martinibomb:

oh is it Psychomania okay I haven't seen that one but I know it
Avatar 6:44pm solo mon:

Yes psychomania!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44pm Rich in Washington:

watched that like maybe a year ago. An evil satanic biker gang. The suicide scenes are hilarious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45pm Rich in Washington:

{looking it up] It was also called The Living Dead and Death Wheelers.
Avatar 6:46pm solo mon:

It’s great but also sooooo corny
Avatar 6:46pm geezerette:

Awwwwwww... :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm zivilars:

this kid is adorable
  6:47pm Martinibomb:

^ My niece :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm Rich in Washington:

John Cameron did the soundtrack to Psychomania and it was released by Trunk Records a while back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm zivilars:

super sweet, thanks for sharing!
  6:48pm Mr Fab:

I don't know if any bad biker movie experience can never be topped by "Werewolves on Wheels."
- it's a werewolf movie!
-It's a biker movie!
- Now, settle down you two. It's a werewolf AND a biker
  6:48pm Martinibomb:

She recorded this straight from her head with no music and it was totally on the beat. I lined it up later with the instrumental
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm Rich in Washington:

This is freaking awesome, MB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm zivilars:

talented girl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Rich in Washington:

I've got the WOW soundtrack but I don't believe I've ever actually seen the film!
Avatar 6:49pm geezerette:

It's great! Tough and adorable.
Avatar 6:50pm solo mon:

  6:51pm Martinibomb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Otis Fodder:

1/2 of the show overlapped it with Kenzo. Mixed so well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, EM BEE! See you later!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Otis Fodder:

Best part was Kenzo talking with Beat It.
  7:04pm Martinibomb:

I sometimes cross our streams so I totally know our shows work well along side each other :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Rich in Washington:

For a while, I had MB panned left and Kenzo panned right.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Otis Fodder:

It's a good time slot to mix streams with for sure.
  7:05pm Martinibomb:

Okay that's it! Cya later
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Otis Fodder:

Oh wow, panning. Did not think of that. On my bucket list!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Holy smokes, i had to run suddenly, but came back later to see you'd played a piano cover of "CD" which is a fairly close rendition of the one i heard on hold. I wonder if my insurance company would be classy enough to play SIA? Thanks for the great show!
