Avatar 11:37am Mr Fab:

This Shaggs song is the answer to all your questions, Otis. Well, dont know if I could buy it at a grocery store, but thats my answer anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Carmichael: would you go for the cheap beer and chocolate or pick one of the pricier types?
Avatar 11:39am Mr Fab:

the parody of “I Like” by Heathen Dan that Dr Demento used to play would also work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Otis:

The Shaggs' answered all 4 questions in I Love.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

imagine a world with Shaggs albums at the checkout counter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Otis:

That would be a grocery I would exclusively give my money too.
Avatar 11:40am Mr Fab:

Oh man, this would have gone well on Georgy’s EZ rock show yesterday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Carmichael:

@Granny, I only have $7.00, so I would have to make do. And I need chocolate $ ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Carmichael: i hear ya on the chocolate, however after eating soviet chocolate in Prague in the early '90s, i wouldn't go THAT far
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am Carmichael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Rich in Washington:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am Rich in Washington:

Oh right! They have records?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00pm Carmichael:

Jan Michael Vincent was in the Danger Island segment of The Banana Splits TV show.
Avatar 12:01pm Martinibomb:

Not for sale but they play records in-store.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm Rich in Washington:

I don't blame you, spodiodi! There is a such a confusing array of toothbrushes to be had. I mean, every year they invent some new feature that we somehow managed to live without. All hail the Capitalist System!
Avatar 12:01pm Sonderangebot:

Hi spodiodi! @Granny, I like porous russian chocolate though, have you tried it? It tastes different, but it's an acquired taste.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm Rich in Washington:

I was talking with Toody Cole shortly after she opened her little basement thrift store and she said that she and Mississippi have an agreement that she can't sell records down there.

@rich oh wow but kinda makes sense.. why would u want competition in your basement
Avatar 12:10pm Mr Fab:

Found some interesting looking records in a Salvation Army yesterday....but $4 a pop?! For thrift store records? I have yet to hear any of the presidential candidates discuss this important issue.
Avatar 12:18pm spodiodi:

nice album title and art "Music From a Surplus Store", what an appropriate choice / nice pick. sounds good too. love the muted trumpet

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Rich in Washington:

Most Goodwills around here, who've pretty much driven most local thrift stores out of business, routinely charge 2.99 to 3.99 for records.
Avatar 12:52pm Martinibomb:

@fab $4!!! Wow maybe all the 10cent records I bought in 80s/90s are worth 40x what I paid

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Otis:

Totally Rich, so good... just picked it up last month.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Rich in Washington:

A Switched-On Portland would be really cool. In the meantime, I've got Tony Coulter's Stumptown Underground premium CD, which kinda runs the gamut of that kinda music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Otis:

Haven't heard Tony's CD. That sounds so good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm Rich in Washington:

Loving this synth vibe you've got going on here!

  1:51pm spodiodi:

the worst thing about WFMU is having to choose a stream, with so many great shows, often on at the same time! what to do
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Otis:

My life weekly spodiodi... multiple players up or switching back/forth. Archives for the win!
Avatar 1:55pm spodiodi:

the most dificult thing must be finding time for the archived goodies... because like a good party, WFMU don't stop. (but you're right... Archives FTW! - one day i'll be more organized and figure it out ;))
Avatar 1:55pm spodiodi:

second most* difficult thing

CHEEESE!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Oh, this crowd will appreciate the fact that i just got new checks and took the option to include "up to two lines" of a quote above the signature line. The lines i chose:
Do I have to spell it out?
CHEESEANDONIONS oh no
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Honk if you love cheeses!

Avatar 2:30pm spodiodi:

love Funkadellic. nice!
Avatar 2:36pm spodiodi:

a co-worker in the early 90's made me a bunch of Funkadellic and Parliament tapes that i wish i sitll had (until then i pretty much only knew P-Funk stuff, and not much of it at that.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Otis:

My real love is the Funkadelic side pre-1975... so many amazing funky songs and the ballads, just wow.

Should do a whole show like this soon. Used to make tapes "Dustys" which were all funk/soul ballads... Have 5 still, maybe will break out and play soon.
Avatar 2:39pm spodiodi:

sounds great, Otis! i hope to be here then
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm ARB:
