Morning from across the pond, great show Jeffrey I’m afraid lethargy and inertia has set in and I just can’t be bothered to get out of bed and I think this will be the case for just over two and a half hours.
Avatar 6:29am TDK60:

I raise my morning cup to Spamoni.
Avatar 6:40am Sem:

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good morning everyone

shutting of the door
so your sleep is not disturbed,
and two words written on the gate as I leave,
"Good night,"

I thought of you.”

The past week or so I'd been afraid to bring up Spamoni, and I gathered others were as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54am Brian in UK:

Hello Jeffrey, I signed on hope against hope that I would not see your 6:10 comment.

All the love going out from the FMU family is truly inspiring at this sad time.

  7:21am David in London:

Hello Jeffrey and all. Glad to be here, but hugely sad to hear the news about spamoni
Avatar 7:31am Ignatatus666:

Your welcome Jeffrey
I would imagine that many of us know about the falsehoods in cancer research so in Honor of Dean aka Spamoni instead of donating to cancer research perhaps donate some time to others suffering from any disease including depression. Or drop a few dollars donation directly to those suffering from cancer .
Carol Crows show from Sunday morning was a well planned send off. Listen on the archives to Serious Moonlight sonatas. I think we all rushed to the last few weeks of shrunken planet and Carols show as we knew his time was getting shorter. We wanted to spend as much time with him as we could :(
  7:33am Buddha of Suburbia:

Hi Jeffrey and friends, I just read the news about Spamoni. I am so sad. I know how much he loved this show and all of us fellow listeners. He was our friend and I shall miss him. May his soul rest in peace.
  7:33am Cooh John:

Vaya con dios, spamoni. Gone from the mortal coil where savage indignation cannot tear at the heart. Good morning Jeffrey and fellow mourners.

I've lost dear ones and after death am always focused on their leaving; later I realize it's because I knew them I was enriched. Still, it's because I'm human that I cry.

According to Wikipedia Jack Elliott is still alive
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47am zivilars:

Sorry for having to ask, but I am new here: Was Spamoni a regual listener or a WFMU DJ? Anyway, judging by all the comments, it seems that he must have been a great guy. May he rest in peace and my condolences to his family and friends

Morning to you, too, Jeffrey.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54am zivilars:

thanks for clarifying, Nulsh – sad to hear, would have loved to "meet" him here when there was still time ... After many years of only listening to Teenage Wasteland via podcast, I finally discovered the whole WFMU program – loving so many shows, this one included. Great set, so calming for a rainy dark Saturday morning here in Germany. Will come back regularly.
  7:54am John from Florham park:

@Jeffery perfect song for a morning like this
Avatar 7:55am Fredericks:

@Goyim never ceases to amaze me the knowledge that the accu mind shows from time to time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29am Jeffrey Davison:

John: sometimes referred to as a hive mind. Just FYI, the new Wire album is called Mind Hive...love that and love Wire!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36am Spinning Giant:

Morning everyone - like @zivilars I am a new listener here on the planet, and to woof moo in general (since fall 2019) - what a touching round of tributes to Spamoni, who was clearly a cherished member of this community - courage, love & light to all of you who knew him well - it has been and continues to be a great pleasure to discover this amazing outpost of freeform radio, and the equally amazing community supporting it - what a pleasure it is to be able to engage and connect this way - especially in an age / medium where so much of the human component is being stripped out in favour of one-way-only downstream delivery - may the sun shine brightly on you all today, friends
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38am Jeffrey Davison:

good morning Spinning Giant, and thanks for your thoughts...agreed, an amazing love of music lives here and the listenership here...just the best.
  8:45am ignatatus666:

Thanks Nulsh
Solemn morning @JFFP
Great guests this morning. I like hearing the crossover from Punk to chamber music. What’s next,Slapshot adding the Oboe?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am Jeffrey Davison:

Ignatatus666...ha! sounds good...love that movie.
  8:46am ignatatus666:

Did he ever play the Stratocaster with a whammy bar at Joes Garage?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am WR:

Interesting conversation, tuned in after music, so will have to go back and archive listen to the music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am Jeffrey Davison:

WR, good morning...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48am zivilars:

@Spinning Gigant @Jeffrey Davison It's amazing how WFMU already has opened my musical horizon within such a short time – I never was a one genre listener before, on the contrary, but nevertheless, the unbelievable spectrum of all the shows here makes me appreciate all kind of different music so much ... i'm equally in love now with punk rock, polka, kids music and country etc. now and have favourite WFMU shows for every genre. To imagine that I paid over $20 a month for SiriusXM for years (mainly only for Little Steven's "The Underground Garage" channel), I definitely get SO much more from WFMU, so my money will go to you guys from now on via pledges
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48am Jeffrey Davison:

Ignatatus, you'll have to check them out and see ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49am Jeffrey Davison:

zivilars, agreed!
  8:53am John from Florham park:

@Zivilars since I happened on this station since I mov s back to Jersey, I have given up on commercial radio because I hear the same crap day after day,BTW check out the internet only streams, you will hear more interesting stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57am zivilars:

@John from Florham park – definitely! As I am a huge 50s/60s music fan, Rock'n'Roll Ichiban stream is one of my favorites, too! Still have to dive into the other two streams, "Give The Drummer Some" and "Sheena's Jungle Room", a bit more deeper, but what I have already heard is also fantastic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:00am zivilars:

Thanks for the great show, Jeffrey! Hope I'll be able to tune in next week, too

I will miss spamoni's presence here, and am grateful to be here now. Thanks, Jeffrey and all WFMU folx who support and sustain this rare treasure we share. <3
