Slogged my way through Infinite Heft years ago -- no wonder this sounds vaguely familiar.

fuck cancer research! but in general, isn't there almost always a better use for the giant chunks of money in this world?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04am coelacanth∅:

nobody told you to shut up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07am coelacanth∅:

talking about trees growing up through the middle of skyscrapers reminds me of slapstick. (Vonnegut)

iggy is he out? he was still amongst us as of sunday.
Avatar 1:14am litmus0001:

Great radio wakes you up from a solid sleep, terrified from a nightmare...

I fell asleep hours ago listening to WFMU, and woke from a strange nightmare of being chased that I now can't remember, with that Kuupuu track on, modulating between major and minor drone, back and forth... To have my mind blown by that Sarah Harmer track, with my heart racing.

Thanks Herwig! That was awesome!!!
  1:16am ignatatus666:

He passed on Monday. No details on his services yet.
Avatar 1:16am Jherweg:

I’m glad you’re enjoying it ! Opinions on greatness are varying tonight , I’m trying my best not to be too insecure .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am coelacanth∅:

so sad. yeah Fuck cancer. (and cancer research)
rest in peace spamoni.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19am Ken From Hyde Park:

Yeah, RIP spamoni. Carol did a really nice job on her last set Sunday morning. I wonder if he was able to hear it.
  1:20am ignatatus666:

Researchers that find serious advances in cancer end up dead or missing. You find a cure for cancer then you don’t need Bloomies money.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22am coelacanth∅:

iggy i only had a few pleasant words with him, probably over 2 years ago, when he was on the boards more than just early weekend mornings. i happen to tune in to Carol's show 2 weeks ago and it was fucking heartbreaking.
  1:23am ignatatus666:

Ken I believed he was listening because that’s how I want to remember him. His private messages were getting less verbal so I knew what was up. Carols send off had me bawling my eyes out. That was a beautiful thing to do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25am coelacanth∅:

yeah i was weak. i went and lied down.
  1:29am ignatatus666:

I wish I was on the boards back then. I hadn’t realized how these boards actually worked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31am coelacanth∅:

re:@1.20 i was with a woman in the mid-late 90s who was a research biologist at sloan kettering and when she started seeing promising results in the petri dish they'd shut down the project.
i remember the first time she told me this she was practically in tears.
i guess i was already jaded by then because i wasn't even slightly surprised.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34am coelacanth∅:

(i don't know that jaded is the best word...)
Avatar 1:37am Jherweg:

No profit in a cure. :(
  1:38am ignatatus666:

Not jaded, enhanced by your own observations.
Avatar 1:42am litmus0001:

I was a cancer researcher. NIH doesn't pay for cures. They pay for models that you can sell for further research.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47am coelacanth∅:

hey i like your Woody Guthrie picture, except it's headless!
... if you're familiar with Arrington D'Dioniso (probably butchering his name) he has a project called "this saxophone kills fascists".

i'm down
Avatar 1:52am litmus0001:

That's his name! Haven't heard that project. I know he paints now.

Saw Old Tyme Relijun play in a commune basement in Madison, WI 15 years ago with a fruity French dude with paper dolls opening with a set of Marlena Dietrich covers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58am coelacanth∅:

that sounds entertaining!

...yeah i've always assumed he'd painted all those sexy and bizarre album covers
Avatar 1:58am Jherweg:

Ha ha thought I’d just play some Arrington De Dionyso
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58am coelacanth∅:

and he's been summoned! Thanks Jherweg!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00am coelacanth∅:

oh, heh -i did kinda butcher his name
Avatar 2:10am litmus0001:

Hellz yeah, jherweg! The trick is to choose HOW you want to sell out! But sell out for sure, in the best way you can!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11am coelacanth∅:

Jonathan it's always good to hear you and tonight's no exception but
my bed needs me, badly.
Thanks! good night everyone stay strong.
