Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm ultradamno:

I remember the globetrotters on Futurama
  7:40pm P-90:

Yeah, as a kid I used to wonder. “OK, the Munsters are obviously German, but did they emigrate to America BEFORE or AFTER the war? Because y’know, that makes a difference...”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm ultradamno:

...also, plenty of little girl monsters.
Avatar 7:43pm JakeGould:

@P-90: Adolf Munster was a pill.
Avatar 7:43pm spodiodi:

i got to meet the Globetrotters on their bus, post performance, in the mid-70s and snag some autographs on the poster i made for the game. i loved them. such a great memory. quite a thrill at the time. Curly Neal was super-nice.
Avatar 7:44pm dale:

Avatar 7:49pm JakeGould:

Fake Roman Emperor made out of wood chips from Christmas trees.
  7:51pm Old Dave:

That's like the General Pike Hotel in Phoenixville PA. We knew it was there, had a beautiful bar. The legend was its old lady owner would serve you as long as you'd not get loud and interrupt her TV shows. IF YOU DID, she'd pull out a 12 gauge and tell you to get out.
Now it's a CVS drug store. She died. But it was such a peaceful place in 1990...
Avatar 7:51pm cosmic matrix:

i feel that same way about laughing sometimes
Avatar 7:52pm cosmic matrix:

i love the theme song to the munsters.
Avatar 7:52pm cosmic matrix:

Avatar 7:53pm JakeGould:

“The Munsters” and “The Addams Family” resonated in big ways in some immigrant circles. Ditto with “The Beverly Hillbillies.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm ultradamno:

Green Acres too, I would imagine.

Popcorn!!!
  7:58pm Listener Robert:

It took Elizabeth Montgomery to explain something I'd never gotten: that "Bewitched" too was about prejudice and outsiders fitting in.
Avatar 7:59pm JakeGould:

Yes! Outsiders in 1960s sitcoms were social commentary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I Dream of Jeannie was cool with the astronaut stuff.
  8:01pm Old Dave:

We largely scoffed at outsiders then Jake and still do.
Sorry....
