I think that dishwasher is the only job in a restaurant that I could keep.

I washed dishes for 12 hrs a day at a shitty hotel in the 1990s. Somebody should have put me out of my misery.
Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Somm Ben:

Hey, solidarity with all dish washers around the world. One of the hardest gigs. They keep the restaurants running.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Krys O.:

My cervical spine issues have made noises for many, many years. I wondered if other folks hear clicking and crunching. My knee popping sounds are unmistakenly loud.
Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Somm Ben:

Grungy weather here in Jersey City. It would be Alice in Chains if this show wasn't on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Krys O.:

That photo of the sun's surface reminded me of unpopped popcorn kernels in oil.
  12:33pm WW:

Pseuzabelle- Of course we understand. Have you no historical perspective? You don't remember Mr. Loobner from SNL? Born without a spine?? C'mon Lady, pull it together!! We are all depending upon you! Sigh....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

The images from the surface of Mars are often in colour and pretty sharp: the images of the landing are from cameras on the lander that have to be rugged enough to survive the landing.
Avatar 12:37pm mariano:

Thing is, any photo is by definition a processed image. And strictly speaking, the reality we see with our eyes is also processed - vision is the result of our brains processing electrochemical signals sent by cells in our eyes as they're affected by different wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation, ie the visible spectrum of light.
Avatar 12:38pm Pseu Braun:

mariano, spot on!!! HEY ALLZ.

I tried taking a photo with my iPhone of the moon coming up over a big hill here in Nice It came out like shit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Gaylord Fields:

Loving the show, Pseu, and that I'm ignoring my work to listen to it! And, speaking of work, for all you who wash dishes for a living out there, here's a song in sympathy of your labors: www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm People Like Us:

I'm watching this with my left eye and working with my right
Avatar 12:47pm mariano:

@Earth Walker - phone cameras are really bad when it comes to pictures of the moon. That and landscapes - they never seem to capture the grandeur of a scene.
  12:48pm Websie:

@Somm Ben:

Sorry, I won't even watch Bojack Horseman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Gaylord Fields:

@PLU: My trepanning appointment isn't till 5pm, so I can't quite multitask as easily until then.

Hi Pseu,
I'm psychically struggling today and could use a few good vibes if you can spare 'em. Love to you and all of WFMU.
Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Somm Ben:

That's no moon...
Avatar 12:52pm Pseu Braun:

My brain has to compensate for my poor vision even with glasses. My optic nerve is s-l-o-w-l-y disintegrating.

Thank yeu. <3
  12:55pm Cabbage:

Yes beep boops are good vibes!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm Gaylord Fields:

@Listening Out There: Did I write trepanning? I meant to say eye exam. (And thanks for the affirmation.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm Carmichael:

Heya Pseu and The Hooked. Back from a meeting, missed the Divinyls ...
Avatar 12:59pm D. Lightfoot:

wish someone would trepan me rn
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Krys O.:

Best o' luck, Gaylord. Getting my head examined on Monday, I mean my eyes. The dilation is the worst part. Hope it'll be a cloudy day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Gaylord Fields:

@Krys O.: Yikes! I really do have an exe exam at 5pm. Vision stuff is scary when you get to a certain age.
Avatar 1:00pm Listening Out There:

@gaylord: Big difference...though they both involve holes in the head, in a way. Whew! :)
  1:00pm Cabbage:

Yay Gary!!! What a great time to tune in. Waiting for the shrink, basking in synth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Gaylord Fields:

@Krys O.: I'm paying the extra $59 for the fancy retinal machine scan rather than the dilation. Can't eff around when you have bad vision, as you and I do.
  1:03pm Marie:

I dig Gary--sorry I missed him on tour a few years ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Carmichael:

Me too, I have bad vision!
Avatar 1:07pm vinylmonkee:

*checks insurance coverage for "fancy retinal machine scan"*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Gaylord Fields:

@Carmichael: One of my favorite games to play is Eyeglass Poker, where you go up to another bespectacled person and wager as to who has worse vision. Then you swap glasses to determine the winner. Whoever usually exclaims "Wowwww!" tends to be the loser.

I rarely lose.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Krys O.:

@Gaylord, I get that retinal scan too, but the dilation helps to see the cupping of my optic nerve. I also have posterior vitreous detachment in both eyes, as well as phosphenes. That's a swirly phantom light. It's been a while since I had an ocular migraine with scintillating scotoma. My mom has Fuch's corneal dystrophy and that is hereditary.
Avatar 1:18pm mariano:

"Eyeglass Poker" sounds like a weapon from the Peaky Blinders era, Gaylord ;)
  1:20pm wild neil:

I washed dishes. it was fun racing to get them all done. hot though. i liked taking the Hobart apart.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm Gaylord Fields:

@Krys O.: Oh, I do wish you a positive outcome. That sounds quite serious.

@mariano: So I'm better off sticking with the trepanning?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Bill in W.O.:

The show today is a lovely counter to the mid-February weather. Hey, sunset's past 5:30 now. We're making progress!
Avatar 1:29pm mariano:

Well, Gaylord, I'd say that I need trepanning like I need a hole in the head. No, that's ok, no need to call security, I'll show myself out...

A girlfriend of mine years ago had this friend who, I swear I'm barely exaggerating, smelled like an open dumpster, and his stench would fill up whatever room he was in. He came over once for dinner, and after 15 minutes I handed him my deodorant and told him how impolite and what a huge imposition it is to go to someone's house to eat only to stink up the whole joint.

This is the hot mess express, the very train you never meant to board. You had spent your entire life dreaming of riding that train, from the time you were a little girl, curled up by a glow-worm nest in your grandmother's pool. You'd read the stories, you'd watched the first episode on TV, you'd dreamed of riding on the magic carpet of commuter rails, the one with wheels. Your whole life, every night when you laid on that grey, cotton mattress in your parents' basement, you'd dream of that train, the rolling gray tower of comfort.

You took the fare. All the fare. And you paid it all back.
