Well, I often rank /all/ the songs/pieces heard on WFMU as "the Top 30,000." But that may be too limited, and foolish, heh.

Home with the flu for the second year in a row, despite flue shots. Maybe I need a little Vitamin DO.
Avatar 9:50am coelacanth∅:

interesting...a radiohead song!
  9:50am ?:

@Doug, that sucks! Maybe you should have gotten a FLU shot in addition to closing up the flue.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am Jeff Golick:

Oh dear, @Doug! Healing vibes!
Avatar 9:51am Peter from DE:

sorry the bad joke came from me. but seriously: I'm convinced that having the shot lessens flu symptoms even if you catch it.
Avatar 9:52am coelacanth∅:

Doug that sucks. i hope you're well soon
  9:52am Listener Gregory:

I was thinking of this song ten seconds before you put it on. How did you read my mind so fast??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52am Jeff Golick:

Maybe you sent it to me telepathically @LG?

the WFMU Radio Empire!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am ParUbi:

(I might have misheard you)
  9:58am Doug Schulkind:

@Peter from DE
I choose to believe that theory.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am WR:

Hello D:O streamers. Was listening and enjoying and looked at the playlist and did not immediately connect the movie theme with that award show happening soon. Still coming out of my cocoon I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59am doctorjazz:

Getting the flu shot DOES lessen the symptoms, even when you do catch the flu. Generally, the shot is about 60% effective (varies year to year). But severe flu, Bad enough to cause hospitalization and/or death, is almost 100% people who didn't get flu shots.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am WR:

Watched Us last night. Lead actress is amazing in her two roles. Then I started wondering about the stunt doubles for the 4 lead characters and that they need some recognition as well.
  10:03am Doug Schulkind:

doctorjazz is a real doctor, folks. He doesn’t just play one on the radio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03am Jeff Golick:

@ParUbi: you heard right.
@WR: Hi there!
@doctorjazz: leaning on the doctor side of things this morning...

Have not had the flu for over ten years, which I attribute to pureness of heart. Also I get the shots.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am Jeff Golick:

Have you not heard of the evil eye, @LG?? You're not supposed to say such things out loud!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am Stanley:

I was OUT but now I'm IN
Hello Jeff, all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am Jeff Golick:

@Stanley! Great to have you here.
  10:28am Mark R:

Not expecting acoustic guitar music from Eno.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am Jeff Golick:

Hiya, @Mark R!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am doctorjazz:

Took my brother in law to see Live From Here last night for his birthday.Chris Thiele is really quite a musician, and has this country-looking ensemble playing "out" at times (never too aggressive or offensive, though, a bit like a Dead jam). They did a cover of a Zappa instrumental. (And I like Andrew Bird, who was his guest). Tonight Will see Andy Statman, in a Bluegrass band (which I don't think he's done in years).. Mucho mandolin!
Avatar 10:32am Stork:

Sunday is Outday. Hello DO's. Just tidying up the Club - removing the bodies, cleaning the walls - the normal - hope y'all can git down to the Stork by opening time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Used to say I always gets colds & never flu
...not so sure anymore...
Gave up on Live From Here...too close to Garrison in my head - whom I used to appreciate...seems smug yuppie millenial sameness...I dunno I went off it...
  10:35am Dean:

Knock, knock!
Who's there?
Awtch.
Awtch who?
Gesundheit.
Avatar 10:35am hyde:

aw, love this song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Jeff Golick:

Thanks to @Listener Gregory for the suggestion!
  10:37am Listener Gregory:

Excellent transition, Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Jeff Golick:

Yo, @Dean!
  10:37am Listener Gregory:

I hear the mountains are doin fine.
  10:37am Mark R:

Wow this Neil Young is really hitting my sweet spot right now. I have to admit I'm not familiar with the deep album cuts on this album, so thanks for expanding my mind.
  10:39am Mark R:

I agree that Chris Thile is an excellent musician, Dr. I have a beautiful album of him playing with the bassist Edgar Meyer.
  10:40am Mark R:

Now that you've updated your playlist, I'm thinking that acoustic guitar track was NOT Eno at all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40am doctorjazz:

Got to Neil, great!
The bad comedy skits kept it sounding like Prarie Home Companion (Thiele's not smug. In fact, he's cute, very appreciative on stage of the performers and audience, and peppy like an hyperactive kid). I don't listen often, but they skipped the comedy skits last night, made a big difference.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Oh yeah he is. I'd probably enjoy it Live...from there...
Avatar 10:41am Stork:

Is there nothing this guy plays that I don't love? (hint: answer starts with an "n" and ends with an "ope."
  10:41am Doug Schulkind:

Neil Young On the Beach bares only the slightest resemblance to Einstein On the Beach.
  10:45am Listener Gregory:

*Jeff! Sorry paint fumes have gone to my head.
Avatar 10:45am holland oats:

mashup!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am Jeff Golick:

@Stork! Just trying to elevate the bar to your level... How's Germany today?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am Jeff Golick:

@LG: not to worry -- highest praise imaginable, that.
  10:49am Mark R:

I have to confess I've never heard of Andy Roberts--that was really a beautiful track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am WR:

doctorjazz your regular live music attendance is a positive nudge that I need and could to go out more often.
  10:55am Doug Schulkind:

You made your bed Jeff, now lie in it.
Avatar 10:59am hyde:

i revisited Larry Coryell's Spaces LP not too long ago, which was a staple of my youth. It stands up pretty well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Only informed of Coryell - beyond his reputation - by FMU when he passed I'm ashamed to say. Seems to me a notable comparison to McLaughlin.
Avatar 11:03am hyde:

@RevRab McLaughlin plays with him on a bunch of that that Spaces LP
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Impression Coryell came @ Fusion from Rawk roots more...
  11:12am John from Florham park:

Hello fellow out listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am doctorjazz:

@WR, love hearing live music...don't get out as much as I'd like (and used to). Always seems to so much great stuff I can't get to. And, it's really hard these days to get out on " school nights". But love it when I pull it off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am Jeff Golick:

  11:13am John from Florham park:

@Mark r there is a channel on SiriusXM called deep tracks which plays a lot of deep tracks and there is something called radio paradise which gives this station a run for its money
  11:14am John from Florham park:

@Late morning Jeff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am doctorjazz:

Radio Paradise, huh? Sounds appealing, but I think I'm plum outta available listening time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am Jeff Golick:

@DJpeterDE: Vandermark is fast approaching Steve Lacy levels of LP production.
