Hello all!
Avatar 4:02pm Sem:

Hello, dj GG. Hope all is well where you are.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hi Sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Are you ready for some 1970 goodness?
  4:03pm Elizabeth:

Hello! I hope you are feeling better, Georgy! I have step out for a bit, but I will be back before the show ends! Syd!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Georgy, how's the throat? And yes we are!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello Elizabeth! :-) Thank you for sharing my show, lovely :-)
  4:04pm Elizabeth:

Always ready for 1970s goodness!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hi Jan! Back again this evening, hence my absence during your show :-(
  4:05pm Elizabeth:

You're welcome! My pleasure! I have told several people I know who love the type of music you play and they are intrigued! I hope to make some converts to your show! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm Jan Turkenburg:

No worries. I can't attend all the shows i like as well...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm Linda Lee:

hello hello! back to 1970 as the snow falls here in 2020. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I keep having these coughing fits which is SO annoying
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello lovely Linda! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Linda Lee:

I hope you're just about done with that awful infection!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Elizabeth- the more Frigateers the merrier! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@LL - the cough is being very stubborn. I am determined to kick it to the curb!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm chresti:

Hi GG and LL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello chresti! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Linda Lee:

yes! kick it on out! plenty of liquids & still some rest.
hi chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

There was a British anti-drink/driving TV campaign that used this. They slow down the "have a drink, have a drive" over footage of road carnage!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm chresti:

Love Mungo Jerry
Avatar 4:10pm Sem:

TIL: The group's name was inspired by the poem "Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer", from T. S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

"Alright Alright Alright" is my fave :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Linda Lee:

way to gut a nice song, people. how unimaginative!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Sem - it was indeed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

A number one record from a Bournemouth hairdresser - that doesn't happen very often ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Rich in Washington:

Just popped into The Flange to see wha...
OH! A radio show! Hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Linda Lee:

is that right! marvelous! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hi Rich! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Rich in Washington:

Two pints and a packet of crisps, please! (I always wanted to say that!).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

LOL! ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Pork scratchings anyone? ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Linda Lee:

always pair this one with 'come together' in my mind. they weren't on the same disc, were they?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Linda Lee:

hi Rich! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@LL - this was on Let It be, and Come Together was on Abbey Road :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Linda Lee:

ah. don't ask me then. maybe it's the bass line.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

They *do* go together nicely tho :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Linda Lee:

yes! :-) maybe they're just similarly grubby.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Same year period to be fair :-)
Avatar 4:15pm Sem:

Phil Spector produced...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Linda Lee:

got that one anyway. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

You can also get Let It be Naked which is essentially what you hear in the movie. Minus all the Spector bells and whistles ;-)
  4:16pm melinda:

Hi flange n frigate friends
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello melinda! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Linda Lee:

hi melinda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I love how the Spencer Davis track sounds like it was made in about 1966 ;-)
Avatar 4:17pm Sem:

Maine-r melinda, greets from across the Gulf.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Linda Lee:

hadn't heard of Let it Be Naked. wonderful.
here's one: was winwood still on organ by this one?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Linda Lee:

it does. :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@LL - no ... he's back in Traffic at this point :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Linda Lee:

wish i'd been made in 1966. i'd be younger! :-D
thanks, thought so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

And Traffic will be coming up later! ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Linda Lee:

Johnny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Rich in Washington:

Hi Linda Lee!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Rich in Washington:

I'm bouncing around the room putting last week's records away, pulling out this week's. What a mess!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It was a *complete fluke* that John mentioned George and the next track is George ... I love it when that happens :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Rich - I'm giving you a good motivational soundtrack :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Linda Lee:

radio magic!
never heard Yoko speaking up for John like a translator.
did she do that often?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm Linda Lee:

listen to this production!!! wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@LL - I've heard her do it on and off ... she seemed to do that more when his artistic nature was challenged.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Linda Lee:

as if he had anything to prove by then!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Exactly :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Linda Lee:

if they hadn't been activists they might've told the media to fuck off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I *love* this track
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Rich in Washington:

so weird. I just pulled out a Macca album!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Rich - mind meld!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Linda Lee:

i missed it. was this the McCartney lp?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@LL - that's the one :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm Linda Lee:

Joe Cocker!!!! yes. was this Mad Dogs & Englismen?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@LL - spot on!!! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Linda Lee:

fabulous. listen to that choir.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Jan Turkenburg:

I love each and every rendition of The Letter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Linda Lee:

still so good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Joe Cocker was a total God, wasn't he? :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm Jan Turkenburg:

well, as a figure of speech
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm Linda Lee:

i think i do too, Jan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm Linda Lee:

here's something about women in the business: Niicky Barclay was an absolutely phenomenal keyboard player ~ i mean, if Ray was white & female ~ but on the tour they kept her in the chorus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm Jan Turkenburg:

Did you hear my show in which Bojoura's version, Linda?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's a good job I'm not coming to you in Smell-o-Vision because it reeks of Vapo-Rub in here right now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Linda Lee:

Jan, I'm sorry, I didn't?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Linda Lee:

that was just phenomenal. & the crowd knew it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Linda Lee:

oh hey! remember what we always say about getting a view of adult life through songs? here's one. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

:-)
Avatar 4:33pm geezerette:

Paaaaaaaaaul! Paaaaaaaaul! Paaaaaaaul! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

There's a song that samples this woo woo woo bit but I can never remember the artist :-(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hey geezerette! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Linda Lee:

geezerette! :-)
Avatar 4:35pm geezerette:

Hiya, GG!
Cheers, buddies!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm Linda Lee:

listen to the way John comes alive, just a little bit, with Mama gone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

He should have stayed with May Pang
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm Linda Lee:

I was surprised!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

That's a WHOLE other conversation ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm Linda Lee:

wasn't she assigned, though?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

God, listen to Dave Davies' guitar here. :-) Phenomenal.
Avatar 4:37pm geezerette:

LL, they more than hold up. Makes me so happy, the authenticity,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm Linda Lee:

this is new to me! wow!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@LL - she was. But it developed a life of its own. Looooooooooong conversation. ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Linda Lee:

well, I haven't had it yet.. so.. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Dave Davies is considered in many circles to be the originator of Heavy Metal, certainly in the guitar department.
Avatar 4:38pm coelacanth∅:

ahoy GeorgyGirl and frigateers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm ParUbi:

Hey everyone! :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Linda Lee:

I'm sorry, geezerette, what holds up?
Avatar 4:38pm geezerette:

Hey Coel!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hey coelacantho!! :-)
Avatar 4:40pm coelacanth∅:

Dave Davies doesn't get anywhere near the props he deserves as a guitarist

- hey geez!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@coel - completely agree. He gets criminally overlooked
Avatar 4:41pm Sem:

Hey, west coast g. Greets.
Avatar 4:42pm geezerette:

Kinks had their own sound. What a gifted generation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I've been to The Clissold Arms, which is the first pub they ever played in - across the street from the Davies' family home :-)
Avatar 4:43pm geezerette:

Sem! Howdy!
Avatar 4:44pm geezerette:

G.G.; still a pub?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm Linda Lee:

well! isn't this a surprise from Badfinger!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@geezerette - it certainly is! :-)
@LL - it's fab isn't it? :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm Linda Lee:

where is that, GG?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm Linda Lee:

yes, amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's in Fortis Green, North London (next to Muswell Hill) :-)
kastoffkinks.co.uk...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Konk Studios are still in Muswell Hill
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm Linda Lee:

should i know Muswell Hill? i forget!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

And Ray (and sometimes Dave) are known to attend the annual New Year's Eve karaoke ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

That's where Ray and Dave are from - the pub and the family home are in Denmark Terrace :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm Linda Lee:

oh my! :-)
Avatar 4:49pm coelacanth∅:

LL that's what inspired the phrase "muswell hillbillies"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm Linda Lee:

i feel as if i should know it in another context. ah well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's in Nowff Lahndun ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's in the same part of London as Alexandra Palace, Highgate, and so on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Linda Lee:

gosh, doesn't John sound like a young person though. as time goes on, it's clear that these are *kids*!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Highgate Cemetery is where Karl Marx is buried.
Avatar 4:51pm geezerette:

John, so present.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I mean he was what ... 29/30 here? Not that old, bless him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm Linda Lee:

no. kids. :-)
and NOW .. the song i wished to change my name for! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm Linda Lee:

alas they wouldn't let me do it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I tried sooooooooooooooooooooooo bloody hard to learn this on the guitar. <sigh>
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Linda Lee:

simple-but-tricky.
Avatar 4:54pm Sem:

Some torch song...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I cannot play a musical instrument to save my very life. There's a British expression - "He couldn't hit an elephant's arse with a banjo". That sums up my inability to play an instrument ;-)
Avatar 4:54pm Sem:

..heat like fire in a haystck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Linda Lee:

me either, love.
well, conga. I can play conga..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I mean, if you're going to immortalise your crush in a song ... you can't really do better than this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Linda Lee:

I gotL 'no, you may *not* learn guitar. girls do not play guitar and your name is *not* Layla!'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm chresti:

Hi geez and coel and Sem and Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@LL - I think we know some women who blow *that* theory out of the water, eh? :-)
Avatar 4:57pm geezerette:

Tributes from Harrison and Clapton. Muse territory.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm Linda Lee:

I just missed seeing Fanny by a few week in LA. I almost had my argument!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Wow - I didn't know that you could have seen them live! How fabulous would that have been?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Linda Lee:

lifetime regret. :-) i spent 2 summers around music industry folks in LA, 72 & 73. we did go to the troubadour & the whiskey! literally just missed them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

1970 was nothing if not a year of contrasts!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The Troubadour tho!!!! Legendary :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm Linda Lee:

I did see another really fine music, but .. not Fanny. I already had a crush on June from the record covers.. imagine if I'd been able to say hello! :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I doubt you'd be here chatting to us ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm Linda Lee:

another really fine music. i no rite good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

U mek words and stuf like. ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm Linda Lee:

hahaha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm Linda Lee:

oh my god listen to Moon!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm Jan Turkenburg:

Oh but then go I talking in Dunglish
Avatar 5:05pm geezerette:

Funky-cool. :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I have moments when I type like I've had a stroke
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm Linda Lee:

then go you, Jan. :-) you have an excuse for forgetting, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm ParUbi:

Is that what Frame Dougie Louder means? Is it like the Denglish, "Equal goes it loose" (Gleich geht es los)?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm Linda Lee:

god help us. isn' t it nice when they don't step on the drums!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

A double helping of The 'oo :-)
Avatar 5:08pm geezerette:

Love this song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm Linda Lee:

Moon astounds me all the time. what a force.
Avatar 5:08pm Sem:

Moon, the shambolic one. We share a birthday, but I did not get the sense of rhythm.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm Jan Turkenburg:

Frame Duggy Louder is how "Vreemde Geluiden" roughly sounds like in English. "Vreemde geluiden" (= Strange Sounds) was the name of the predecesser of FDL on Dutch radio and later as a podcast
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

He literally was a drum kit - no separation
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm Vreemde geluiden:

absolutely phenomenal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Jan Turkenburg:

Dunglish is a whole case apart.
Avatar 5:10pm coelacanth∅:

live at leeds their best album (in my opinion) and the pinnacle of the who... where the exploration and creativity finds the raw and the punk and has a beautiful child
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm chresti:

I love Moon, Magic Bus is bananas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's just glorious :-) So happy I get to play it here :-)
Avatar 5:10pm geezerette:

LL,GG: absolutely.
Avatar 5:11pm coelacanth∅:

hey chresti
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm ParUbi:

Hah, Jan, that's for sure. Thanks for explaining that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

ParUbi! Hello! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm ParUbi:

Hi chresti, Coel, GG, everyone
Avatar 5:13pm edelkakao cha cha:

Hi there! I am still bitter at the preteen version of me who lost all the inserts of Live At Leeds, except for the band picture. I guess this was the sixth vinyl I owned. The previous ones were by the Beatles plus one Elvis movie music comp (hit and miss that one).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Vreemde geluiden:

there's a famous photo I remember .. a slightly portly Moon in his socks & underwear falling into a threesome of laughing ladies like a bear into a blueberry bush. that's Moon to me. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Vreemde geluiden:

as a person. the drumming is godly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The wonderful edelkakao! Hello! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

There are some wonderfully cheeky Moon pictures ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Vreemde geluiden:

yes, bless him!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm Linda Lee:

oh, ioved this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The book about him by Dougal, his chaufeur is hilarious. I imagine if you spent more than an hour with him you'd want to strangle him, but I still would love to have met him :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm ParUbi:

Hey there Framedo Ugielouder
Avatar 5:18pm Sem:

Is that a recorder I hear?
Avatar 5:18pm coelacanth∅:

this was one of my favorite songs at the time...even though i'd already started listening to the 'stones and Jimi and steppenwolf and cream....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

For a pop song it's surprisingly heavy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Linda Lee:

Par Ubi! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Like groovy/heavy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Linda Lee:

it is. really nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I can only sing along to Free/Bad Company in my dreams. In my head I sound like Paul Rodgers. ;-) Not in reality tho ... lol!
Avatar 5:21pm coelacanth∅:

and gods bless free. incredible musicians, all
and Rodgers' voice...
what a great band
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Linda Lee:

just checking on 'Dougal' Butler. he's written more than one! made a little industry of it!
Avatar 5:22pm coelacanth∅:

...only had 2 really great albums though!
maybe 3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Linda Lee:

gosh, I hear the Black Crowes almost direct!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Paul Rodgers is my favourite singer ever.
Avatar 5:23pm edelkakao cha cha:

Hi! I missed the one and half sets (took a bus home from my partner's place then - I have no internet on my phone etc), but at least I caught the first two. There was just a bit of drama involved when listening to the beginning of this show. My partner's washing machine went snap crackle and pop while I was using it. They didn't seem to care whereas I was having a nervous breakdown. I should have offered you people a live coverage of this event but perhaps it is better this way ;) I hate it when mechanical and electronic stuff breaks for no reason... At least there is my favourite music to save my night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

A bit of Cat Stevens for Linda here :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Oh no!!! Was everything ok??
Avatar 5:24pm coelacanth∅:

LL i've thought that. Chris Robinson (?) had/has a beautiful voice too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm Linda Lee:

thanks love. :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm Linda Lee:

Chris Robinson is quite amazing. straight from that tradition.
Avatar 5:24pm Sem:

If there is a voice for this period, its this one. Hopeful, sensitive, feeling it all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Cat Stevens is just so glorious to me - I adore his music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Try being a DJ, John ;-) There are days when the playlist drives me *nuts* because the songs sound slightly off in speed or tempo. lol
Avatar 5:28pm edelkakao cha cha:

GG 5.24 No idea, I guess some thin frame or other part from the top (top-load machine) fell of, got mangled by the drum and has been turned to pieces of plastic somewhere inside the thing... I am afraid they will go on using it, I would dare not to... a hellish noise it did make. I am no housewife material, me... (what did this fast show guy say, "knowing my luck summat will go horribly wrong... ooohhh bugger....")
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Linda Lee:

john's voice causes me to realize how very much happened to him in the course of ... what, 8 years? it's a wonder he had a brain left!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm ParUbi:

Ouch, that comment about pain
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Linda Lee:

here we go!! Traffic!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's sobering to think that he has ten years left at this point.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Linda Lee:

no time at all. it really is no time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Linda Lee:

but then, we have no time, all in all. our time is very short!
Avatar 5:30pm edelkakao cha cha:

btw, I usually can not tell maccas solo stuff (early) and badfinger from each other.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

There is a pretty fine line between late Beatles and Badfinger ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Linda Lee:

true! straightaway there's no telling!
Avatar 5:32pm geezerette:

He's so sensitive, direct and honest, John is.
takes guts to be singular.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

This is why we have music - so we can rise above pain and all that :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm Linda Lee:

at this moment! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'd forgotten how long this track is - I could have made a beverage!
Avatar 5:35pm edelkakao cha cha:

similar example re:badfinger and macca/Beatles: early stuff from Wigwam (Finland's finest) when Jukka Gustavson is singing - you can be forgiven if you would mistake it for Stevie Winwood, even if Jukka's voice, keyboard playing and compositions (not to mention lyrics) were very original.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Wigwam! I know them! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Linda Lee:

'druggage'! nmarvelous!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I was having one of my "I have no idea what I'm talking about" moments ;-)
Avatar 5:39pm edelkakao cha cha:

Good, GG! I recommend any of the Wigwam albums from Hard'n'Horny to Dark Album to anyone. Jim Pembroke is a very underrated genius as a songwriter, think Beales meets The Band with some Monty Python thrown in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I shall check those out :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm chresti:

Hi ParUbi!
Avatar 5:41pm edelkakao cha cha:

Hard'n'Horny and Nuclear Nightclub are very good albums to start with.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Usually when I'm talking I'll suddenly think of a supplementary bit of information and then realise, halfway through that I can't remember a specific fact
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Is that the same Wigwam who should have won Eurovision as well?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Rich in Washington:

Love this song so much!
Avatar 5:43pm edelkakao cha cha:

nooooooo! except Jim Pembroke did write a few songs for the contest
Avatar 5:44pm Don-O:

Getting a nice 1970's buzz from this while rebuilding my Josie & The Pussycats site. Thanks GG!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

That Wigwam definitely should have won Eurovision tho ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Rich in Washington:

It's happening to me more and more, DJ GeorgyGirl! I call it 'mic on, brain off'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hi Don-O!! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Rich - it's my "oh bollocks now what do I talk about" moment ;-)
Avatar 5:45pm Don-O:

....and the way I talk during my shows, EVERYTHING is off...totally!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Rich in Washington:

Don-O!
Avatar 5:46pm edelkakao cha cha:

mic on, brain off is often not such a bad thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Linda Lee:

I think the 70s began in earnest with ELP. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Mic On Brain Off were one of the UK's finest punk bands back in the day. Highly underrated ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Rich in Washington:

I know edelkakao! I should just carry a mic everywhere when I want to meditate!
Avatar 5:47pm Don-O:

Rich!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Rich in Washington:

無心 = "no mind"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Rich in Washington:

I used to work with a woman who used to say often "It's mind over matter. If you don't mind, it don't matter!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

"WHERE WERE THE BEATLES FROM?? WHO DID JOHN ENTWISTLE PLAY WITH? WHAT ARE THE ROLLING STONES??? ARSE!!!" ;-)
Avatar 5:50pm coelacanth∅:

i loved lucky man when i was a child (& still do) but even as a child i thought they ruined it sticking the compulsory moog in there! (and still do!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... I love that Moog bit ;-)
Avatar 5:51pm coelacanth∅:

haha all my friends did too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Rich in Washington:

i flunked compulsory moog and had to take it over in my sophomore year.
Avatar 5:51pm edelkakao cha cha:

I'm ELP-phobic but that is a good song, moogs included!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm chresti:

Thanks GG, great show! See yalls around!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Linda Lee:

honestly, i like mine straight up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I never got my diploma in Ubiquitous Drum Solo at college either
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Linda Lee:

(my Moog)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you, chresti! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Don-O is next: www.wfmu.org...
And I will be taking some flu medicine after this show and getting an early night.
Thank you all for listening and having fun with me :-)
Avatar 5:53pm Sem:

Thanks for the look back. Happily, not gaining on me. Next time, dj GG. Be well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Linda Lee:

fantastic show GG. had a ball. thank you!! <3
Avatar 5:53pm coelacanth∅:

ELP was one of my favorite bands by 1973 i just thought the moog wrecked the mood of that one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm ParUbi:

Who was the interview with?
Avatar 5:54pm geezerette:

Super, GG!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

If I were in a band my third album would be called "The Difficult Third Album" :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@ParUbi - the famous John Lennon/Jann Wenner interview for Rolling Stone in 1970 where John said "The dream is over" when talking about The Beatles.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Linda Lee:

if I were in a band my third album would probably be posthumous. (not me, the band)
Avatar 5:55pm coelacanth∅:

oh i never liked the epic drum solos until i heard the one in "boogie on" by ten years after, then the live version of "let it rain"...incredible!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm ParUbi:

Ohhh, I thought it was Yusuf Islam the whole time!
Avatar 5:56pm edelkakao cha cha:

I wish there was a similar interview with Ron Nasty
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Rich in Washington:

There was some moog abuse, for sure, coelacanth∅!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

:-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Huge hugs to everyone! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm ParUbi:

Thanks for a great show, GG!
  5:56pm spodiodi:

thanks, DJ GeorgyGirl!
Avatar 5:56pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Linda Lee:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar 5:58pm edelkakao cha cha:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I shall have a relaxing weekend and knock this bug into touch! xx
Avatar 5:59pm edelkakao cha cha:
