Trying to go the the Beijing Music radio site, but it looks like they are blocked traffic from the US. I guess there is some cyberwarfare going on

Your computer may get the flu.

  10:21pm Daybreak and the Be-Bop-Ba-Ding-A-Da!:

John from FP -
I was at my high school giving extensive essay feedback until midnight, so late the custodians very reasonably turned off the long hall lights. So I walked them in the dark to the red lights of the emergency lighting.
I was doing more grading for the last 5 hours, but stopped to make the fam breakfast for dinner.
Then I’ve been back at it since 8, but was getting sleepy, so I decided to tune into 91.1 and oh my I woke right up and just finished!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29pm ParUbi:

Right? First heard it on Scott Williams' show
  11:32pm choggie:

does anyone here in the comments boardroom know if Joe Frank show us still on the radio anywhere?
  11:33pm choggie:

Joe Frank makes Ken Nordine sound like an amateur, and Kensno amacha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@choggie - DJ Irwin would know the details, but I think at the time of Joe's death, his estate didn't want WFMU or other places to air the shows anymore. They may be available on the website - www.joefrank.com It was fun hearing Joe on Wednesday afternoons.
Swag For Life Member 11:41pm Jinx:

love OOIOO's LP cover art.
Avatar 11:41pm Franco Twinkie:

Choggie, no need to disparage the Kens, But yes Joe, was a singular guy. I was recruited to help with decorated a stage show he did at Spaceland in L.A. Not to put to fine a point on it, but he got an otherwise drunken rock audience to shut the fuck up and stand still with their collective mouths open.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm mariano:

Oh man, I wish I could've seen Joe Frank live.
  11:47pm choggie:

thanks for the filler, JF took me to places with his stream of meta conscious prose and aural landscapes
  11:47pm choggie:

was Joe Frank his real name?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm mariano:

Damn, the JF collection is $1,510 from his site. Or you can pay $99.99/year and stream everything. Or $12.99/month if done monthly. I can see spending 13 bucks for a month of Joe Frank: www.joefrank.com...
  11:50pm eddy:

Marty...was down in Greensboro earlier and I was sitting on the dock of the bay...sitting right down to write you all a letter...digging you...
Avatar 11:51pm Franco Twinkie:

I think his parents modified their name to assimilate, when they escaped the Nazis.
  11:53pm choggie:

I'd do a month or 2 of Joe Frank, too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm mariano:

Ooh, this Kilo song would go well with that song "WC" by Locked Club I heard on FMU the other night: www.youtube.com...
Swag For Life Member 11:55pm Jinx:

thanks, Marty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm mariano:

Might just have to do it, choggie - be great for long drives. Thanks Marty, take care everyone!
Avatar 11:56pm Franco Twinkie:

I use to tape his show when it was on KCRW in the 80's -90's. They languish in a box because I haven't had a cassette player that works in years.
Avatar 11:59pm Franco Twinkie:

Thanks Marty.
