The Mandates doing justice to the 5’s Sister Anne! I knew MotorCity Anne,... she’d be heavenly pleased.

Lane tribute sounds cool !!!

Fantastic set. George always makes me cry with that one. And Whispering Pines is such a masterpiece.

uh oh, country Psycho

I'm gunna go ahead and guess that this Psycho pressing is on a comp LP

Prolly Miles, not enough pops and hisses for an overplayed novelty 45'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm
Handy Haversack:

oh boy!

...talk about your one-hit wonders, Noack's legacy

wow ! u gots the single! how could I doubt you? I found an original copy of Noack's 45 ( same label as Psycho) Barbara Joy at a thrift store for 50cents . nabbed it off of a female friend . she intuitively knew it was a valuable item. that friendship ended that day .

New here - ever play and frank black “country”!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm

hello. psych should always be followed up by the rubber room.

Doesn't Fred Lane have a new lp out??
Avatar 5:10pm
Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@listener 126464: I don't remember that show specifically, but I do remember that sometimes their encores would be longer than their sets and they would also perform some songs for the second time in the encore.

YES! Icepick to the Moon....ON GREEN VINYL!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm
listener 126464:

Thanks Todd and Super Rock too!

I wrote Fred Lane a fan letter back in the early eighties and he mailed me a response to 20 questions I had asked him...

he wrote the letter on a piece of torn grocery bag that had bacon grease stains and coffee stains on it

sorrows 45 yeah th' duck !who knows? I think it was just in their Arsenal of sounds
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm
Mike Sin:

Re: Sorrows
One of the band members did his Donald Duck impersonation when the whole group was high as a kite and they probably thought it was funny as hell. Figured they had to get it on a record somehow. The producer should have stepped in at that point!

Not a lot of info on the No Ones coming up. Are they local?
Avatar 5:36pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm

Gotcha -- thanks!

They wrote a book about it. They said it was like ancient Rome.
Charles in Brooklyn:

You are killing it today! Sometimes I hear you on Wake, but I don’t usually listen on the weekends. The last couple of hours have been great! Thanks

Vintage Violence for the win

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm

Hey Todd everyone! Perfect timing, turned on the stream and Dear Prudence was just starting... getting geared up for the first real Mardi Gras parade of the season, the Krewe of Chewbacchus, excited!
Listener Robert:

California Blue really gets to me.
Listener Robert:

I don't remember where I first heard it, but it was accompaniment to some scene, and I seem to recall a decelerando and fade at the end. It's like a million songs of longing to get back something one once had and misses, and they make me so sad, because it's an experience we all have in some way or other.
