Aw. Hey, there, @WR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:02am WR:

Sorry, spillover from Serious Moonlight Terry Jones Monty Python remixes, but have had my spiced hot chocolate and for Destination Out.
  9:02am Listener Gregory:

Lacking both tatas and matoes this morning but hopefully the music will make up for it.
Avatar 9:02am hyde:

goooooood morning
  9:03am listener james from westwood:

How do, Jeff and all!
Avatar 9:03am Brian in UK (not the S of G):

Hey Jeff, guessing there might be some Python action today.
  9:07am Doug Schulkind:

See you after Y:Oga!

Hope those tatas and matoes come with spam, spam, spam, and spam!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am Jeff Golick:

And lobster thermidor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am WR:

Major disappointment for me in life regarding Spam(TM) is that for most of my life I could not afford such a luxury and now that the children are grown and gone and I can afford the occasional indulgence it is forbidden due to medical considerations, but life is like that. Mixed signals and metaphors and references. Confusing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am Jeff Golick:

O. Henry laughs in his grave.
  9:22am Mark R:

FWIW, the Pop-Up was not responding this am, so I'm listening on the 128k MP3. I don't know if anyone else ran into this issue. Still sounds fine, but I thought you'd want to know. Thiat Shahbaz Hussain/Helen Anahita Wilson track was beautiful, BTW.

Hi, @Mark R., and thanks for that tech notice!

@holland oats in the hooouse!
Avatar 9:27am Sem:

Good morning, Jeff, and hello to the OUT crowd from the windy rainy shores of the Bay of Fundy on this Sunday.
  9:28am Mark R:

All this piano music is making my Sunday morning ever-so-pleasant.
Avatar 9:28am Brian in UK:

@Mark R, pop is good over here.

Sem, sounds just like over here. You will feel quite at home!!!
Avatar 9:30am Brian in UK:

The nun's music is quite different.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31am Jeff Golick:

It really is, @Brian.

Good morning, @Sem!
  9:33am Listener Gregory:

This Tsegue-Guebru piece reminds me of my youth in Paris before the Great War.

@Uncle Michael! Good morning to you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:48am doctorjazz:

Good morning (or whatever time it is) all!
Avatar 9:48am Brian in UK:

Seem to recall that Terje Rypdal had an After the Rain album in the Seventies. Very appropriate.
Avatar 9:48am rbrt:

good morning, that chris dingman track set a great vibe this morning!
  9:49am Listener Gregory:

Live at Tonic... I get a lump in my throat whenever I read those words. Tonic's closure marked the beginning of my slow decline of seeing live music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am Jeff Golick:

Good morning, @doctorjazz! And to you, @rbrt!
  9:50am Mark R:

I missed the Jeff Parker track :(. Was that Coltrane's "After the Rain"?
Avatar 9:50am Brian in UK:

I tend to think of strings as more tense than excited.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am Jeff Golick:

Painful admission: I don't think I ever saw a show at Tonic. Moved to NYC in 1991.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52am Jeff Golick:

That it was, @Mark R. You can hear the track at the bandcamp link, tho!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53am ParUbi:

Good morning Jeff and the exonauts
  9:53am Mark R:

I read a gushing review of that Jeff Parker album (I think on Pitchfork?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am Jeff Golick:

Here's a question for the gathered intellegentsia here: why is my pretty new drip coffee maker suddenly taking FOREVER to brew a pot?
  9:55am Mark R:

If it's BRAND new, perhaps you left a piece of packing material that's blocking something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am Jeff Golick:

@ParUbi: hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am ParUbi:

Nice and droney Dreyblatt
Avatar 9:56am Brian in UK:

Speed of the brew is indirectly proportional to the need. All things being unequal.

Cool track-going to sees Nels Cline tomorrow (but I'm sure it'll sound nothing like this)
  10:05am Listener Gregory:

Jeff’s age: As old as the trees, as young as the spring.
Did I get it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07am doctorjazz:

52?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am Jeff Golick:

Well that didn't take long.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am Jeff Golick:

(Though I prefer @LG's guess.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am doctorjazz:

Just saw Scheineman, with Boom Tic Boom, she has am interesting stage presence, wields her violin like a rock start with a guitar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12am doctorjazz:

@LG is more of a poet, liked his better too...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12am Jeff Golick:

Oh, nice, @doc. What's the Nels Cline context? I'm remembering I saw Cline and Scheinman together in her Mischief and Mayhem group a while back.
Avatar 10:12am Sem:

Thx, hyde for the Kirk tip!

  10:28am Listener Gregory:

So you’re finally playing with a full deck! (Wanted to get that in before your kids do.)
Avatar 10:29am hyde:

@doc fwiw, Amazon Prime also has that Milford Graves documentary at present
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am Jeff Golick:

That assumes they're paying attention, @LG.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am doctorjazz:

Thanks, Hyde, put them on the (too long) list of things to watch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am Jeff Golick:

good morning Jeff and OUTies
Avatar 10:53am coelacanth∅:

Avatar 10:54am hyde:

btw, while I'm mentioning music-ish stuff on Prime, I should also say that I watched August at Akiko's which is a pretty cool flick set in Hawaii that stars Alex Zhang Hungtai (aka Dirty Beaches). He plays some great squalling sax in it, and in general the film is beautiful and interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am Jeff Golick:

Thanks, @coelacanth∅! Soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am Jeff Golick:

Appreciate the recs, @hyde!

For 50 years I've been reading Warne Marsh as Wayne Marsh. At least I checked before commenting about a possible typo #nevertoooldtolearnsomethingnew
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am Stanley:

Hello Jeff and learned friends.
Is this Village of the Sun playing Village of the Sun off the album Village of the Sun?
I think I'll start a list
  10:59am Doug Schulkind:

Moving downward facing dog to walking the dog. Or maybe I should say D:Og!
Avatar 11:00am Stork:

Hey D-O's:

hosing down the bar area, getting ready to fling open the doors in about an hor. If your life partner drives you to drink, tell him/her to drive you here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am doctorjazz:

This (Village of the Sun) is lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am Jeff Golick:

@WR: I feel that, and have owed Willem (not William) Brueker an apology for a while now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am Jeff Golick:

Let me know when you've got a good list together, @Stanley. Sounds like a show.
  11:05am Listener Gregory:

And Pharoah Sanders is not a pharaoh. Doug learned me that, to my embarrassment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am Jeff Golick:

@Do(u)g! Hot dog!
@Stork!
Gang's all here.
Stork and his gang will be here: wfmu.org...
  11:06am Dean:

I *know*, but can't find where, that on a recent comments board at WFMU -- within the last week or two, tops -- somebody posted a link to such a list.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am doctorjazz:

I've misread/mispronounced both Warne and Willem. And the spelling of Rahsaan was a problem for a while (and I still check it)
  11:08am Listener Gregory:

How is it I don’t know this record (Jarrett, DeJohnette)??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am doctorjazz:

It's at The Department of Redundant Reduntancies.
  11:10am Dean:

Here it is: http://rotang.com/trifecta.html
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am Jeff Golick:

Hi, @Dean! Thanks for that link!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am Jeff Golick:

@LG: I just came upon that Jarrett/DeJohnette myself...
  11:11am Dean:

Thanks, @docjazz, but I think you meant the DRRD.
  11:16am rw:

Good morning!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Uncle Michael:

I'm a fix-it man. During the show I've replaced the mechanism for the vertical blinds for the bedroom sliding glass door. (pats self on back)
  11:21am Listener Gregory:

That's great, @UncleM. When I fixed my blinds, I broke the bracket that held them in the window, and I haven't been able to find a replacement for a month.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Jeff Golick:

I plan on spending Stork's show putting together an Ikea shelving unit and uttering four letter words under my breath.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Uncle Michael:

The new headrail came with new brackets, which is good because over the course of 20 years, they changed the design and the old brackets are no longer compatible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Uncle Michael:

Ikea is a four letter word.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Jeff Golick:

Good morning, @rw!
Avatar 11:26am Sem:

@Jeff: here's a perfectly good Swedish word for you to use: skit.
  11:27am Dean:

I tried to replace a faucet hose yesterday. Tried and failed. In so trying, I discovered a second leak. I'm done trying.
Avatar 11:27am Stork:

Jeff,

save that saucy language for my comments board!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Jeff Golick:

Thank you, @Sem. I will wield it passionately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Jeff Golick:

@Stork: I'll try, but won't want to get blood on my keyboard.
  11:29am rw:

I'm at a place in my life where I need to be throwing out everything on my Ikea shelving units and getting rid of the shelving units too. Maybe that will be my project for today. Actually, my bathroom could use some major work. Fuck it. I might just ride the bicycle instead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am Jeff Golick:

If you replace "ride the bicycle" with "take a nap," I'm right there with you, @rw.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Stanley:

Dean - wow a list of 'Trifectas'. Going have to add Village of the Sun to it.
  11:33am rw:

Ha! JG, I may actually be leaning more that direction myself.
Avatar 11:33am Stork:

Hey guys,
Heard the Stork Club playlist might not be available for a few minutes starting at the top of the show, but hopefully the audio will be fine.
  11:35am Dean:

Saw Theo Bleckmann last night performing Hanns Eisler and Kurt Weill tunes with a string quartet and pianist. Pretty remarkable.
Avatar 11:37am Stork:

Wow, Dean - very cool! Was reading about Theo, and looking to cop some of his stuff.
  11:37am Dean:

The Winter & Winter records are always good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am Jeff Golick:

Gotcha, @Stork.

Sounds amazing, @Dean.

Yesterday I went to a "meet the breeds" event at the Jacob Javits center and was able to pet a wide assortment of dogs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am Doug Schulkind:

Home again in my happy place, listening to Golick's Glorious Gifts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am Jeff Golick:

I thought I said no gifts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am Jeff Golick:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am doctorjazz:

Thanks, Jeff, have a fun, happy Birthday!
  11:50am Listener Gregory:
