Favoriting January 23, 2020: "RYAN AVERY performs as LARRY WILDMAN FISCHER + Found Oddio and Show Submissions"
Ryan Avery's performance as Larry Wild Man Fischer took place Nov. 27th 2018 at the Yucca Tap Room in Tempe, Arizona. I missed recording the very beginning because I was in the next room trying to save a flier off the wall. Larry was one of my best friends and I miss him very dearly. I used to visit him each summer wherever he was residing in California, and according to him, was to be the "producer" of his final album/EP "In Search of Happiness." This performance was very therapeutic for me, since I never got to say goodbye. Ryan captured a lot of Larry's mannerisms and it really was how one of his performances would go down. Larry's final live performance was shared with my old band The Nourishment in Arizona for Ryan Avery's mission farewell celebration, and can be seen in the documentary "Hi, My Name is Ryan." For the first half hour, I'll be playing a mix of items sent to the show's mailbox by: Aaron Cohen, Adam Tyner, Bucky Cash, Dana Countryman, Daniel Fischer, Valerie Rose Sterrett and Stephen Friedland - along with other found audio and items dug out from the archive. New music by both Brute Force and Dr. Airlines :) If you would like to send in music or anything to be preserved to The Lost Media Archive Radio Show write to: bcsterrett@gmail.com

Avatar 12:10pm Archivist Vivian:

This is wild.
Avatar 12:11pm BC Sterrett:

Today's show is very much in the vein of my old show "Oddity Rock Radio" from back in the late 90's/Early 2000s
Avatar 12:11pm Sem:

Along for the wicked ride, regardless of where it goes.

Avatar 12:12pm radioactivechickenheads:

Nice hearing Bereft again!
Avatar 12:12pm Archivist Vivian:

This is a fun song. The artwork looks very much like something I would've seen on the Nicktoons Network in the late 90s/early 2000s.
Avatar 12:13pm Archivist Vivian:

The roughness of the vocals makes this too. I love this quality. It's so harsh in the best way.
Avatar 12:13pm BC Sterrett:

Recently contacted Adam for Bereft archives :)

I acknowledge that I have listened since the beginning of this program segment and that I was of sound mind and body at the beginning but that many sounds have been added to my mind that may disrupt my ability to resume my assigned tasks.
Avatar 12:31pm BC Sterrett:

I contacted one of the guys from Flexible Edge but they can't remember the titles of their songs. lol He said it was 30 years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi everyone I'm back. I fixed it!. It's getting warmer again in the house. Now listening while eating dinner :-) (Hey Viv!)

Avatar 12:41pm radioactivechickenheads:

Ryan is nailing it, nice tribute
Avatar 12:41pm Archivist Viv (Dr. Arili:

He's catching the spirit of Larry, I love it. I sang some of WMF's songs back in october while working in a local haunted house to boost morale.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm Franco Twinkie:

Kind of like Cate Blanchett in I'm Not There, no?
Avatar 12:43pm BC Sterrett:

Chatroom shoutout to everyone here :) Thanks for listening. I had to share this audio somehow... Happy Birthday to Frankenstein if he tunes in!
Avatar 12:44pm BC Sterrett:

Ryan kept leaving the stage or walking to the back in Larry fashion + his repetition of songs. lol
Avatar 12:45pm Archivist Viv (Dr. Arili:

I was thinking that's what he was doing. He's really got it down.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Mr Fab:

This guys' good! There was a local record store that used to play Wild Man records to drive out customers at closing. Didn't work with me of course.
Avatar 12:46pm BC Sterrett:

Lol Mr. Fab :)
Avatar 12:46pm Archivist Viv (Dr. Arili:

You kidding? I'd stay several hours after closing if any place did that.
Avatar 12:46pm Archivist Viv (Dr. Arili:

Has anyone else here heard the "New" WMF record from Octobert '18?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm chresti:

Which store was that? @Mr. Fab
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Franco Twinkie:

Monkeys And Donkeys was a big hit at our house when we were teenagers.
Avatar 12:49pm BC Sterrett:

I don't know what that banner behind Ryan said. I never noticed it before. heh
Avatar 12:50pm BC Sterrett:

Wasn't Westwood Blvd? I could be wrong.
Avatar 12:51pm Archivist Viv (Dr. Arili:

It was Westwood.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm Franco Twinkie:

Chrestis ex told me picked up Larry hitchhiking in Hollywood in a somewhat agitated state and gave him a hard boiled egg to calm him down.
  12:51pm Martinibomb:

@BC my wife in the other room says to me, "This guy sounds like the inside of my head when I'm angry at work." Bwhahah
Avatar 12:52pm Archivist Viv (Dr. Arilines):

A deep cut with the Boots song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Rich in Washington:

Oh wow. I just remembered that I have a sealed copy of the WMF/Smegma album and I've never listened to it (looking at his page on Discogs).
12:52pm Dave In St Albans UK:

Hi BC. I have lived with " An Evening With Wild Man Fischer" in my life for 50 years and I believe this album has kept me sane! Great show btw.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Rich in Washington:

But that's news to me, Archivist Viv. I had no idea something had been released recently!
Avatar 12:53pm Archivist Viv (Dr. Arilines):

It's incredibly rare, isn't it? That's awesome.
Avatar 12:53pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks Dave, that's awesome. It's such a gem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm Mr Fab:

Ah, I just past Westwood Blvd yesterday, thinking: I wanna go to Rhino! har-rumph.
But the store that would play Wild Man to drive out customers was Record Surplus in Reseda.
Avatar 12:53pm BC Sterrett:

I'll post this footage on youtube soon :) I'll post a link here after the fact.
  12:54pm Martinibomb:

@BC next time Ryan performs live you should stream it live over the sheena stream..
Avatar 12:54pm Archivist Viv (Dr. Arilines):

There's an open mic at a nearby cafe tonight. I might have to do some WMF songs there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Mr Fab:

The Smegma one's good! Quite rockin. I might still have the mp3s of it if you don't want to bust the shrink wrap.
  12:55pm Martinibomb:

You can run BUTT on your cellphone and it's not a ton of data. Just need an audio interface + microphone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Franco Twinkie:

Last time I looked, that Smegma/Fisher record was still in the bin at Poobah Records. It's purple, right?
12:56pm Dave In St Albans UK:

Ryan is doing a good job. Wish I had been there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm Jan Turkenburg:
