Feeling a little funky today... could be the fish I just ate or could be a Stack O' Polyvinyl Chloride Resin. Welcome to the show!
Avatar 10:49am Linda Lee:

so glad to hear you on a Tuesday! ready to share whatever nonsense i get up to with some Friendly Persuasion!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am Otis Fodder:

Hi Linda! Groovin' Groovy Grooves or some such direction today I think. Inspired a bit by yesterday's playlists and all the funky soulful soundtracking!
Avatar 10:58am Linda Lee:

that was fun, no? :-)
Avatar 10:59am Linda Lee:

hey! here come the funky vibes!
  11:02am Martinibomb:

Hello I love your show is on at a great time for me. tho this is usually when I research music for my show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am Otis Fodder:

Loving the new time slot. Work before, Work After ... and Sunday all my own again.
Avatar 11:06am Linda Lee:

  11:17am zzmmz:

I believe 19 year old then QJ was arranger on Helen Merrill debut album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Otis Fodder:

Oh yea, nice zzmmz.
  11:21am Martinibomb:

Just found an ambient song called, "Otis's Toaster Ghosts." funny title
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am Otis Fodder:

Ha! That could be soundtrack to warmin' up breadtime.
Avatar 11:23am Linda Lee:

we've all seen toaster ghosts..
hi MB! isn't this fabulous!
Avatar 11:30am Linda Lee:

Query: if you're using the FMU app, you get to Sheena's the same way as you do on the website, right? home page > LISTEN NOW?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am Otis Fodder:

Unsure, I don't use the app all that often so maybe others here can comment. I'm normally in front of desktop/laptop listening with a bluetooth speaker around the place.
Avatar 11:32am Linda Lee:

me too. I'm inviting a good friend to tune in from Edinburgh & she's using the app. i. so want her to hear you Otis! Xx
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Rich in Washington:

dang it. Literally forgot what day of the week it is.
Hi everybody!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am Otis Fodder:

Hi Rich!
  11:35am Martinibomb:

@Linda in the App you select "Audio" in the upper right and that gives you a list of all the streams and u just select Sheena there and it should play.
Avatar 11:36am Linda Lee:

he's a what? a 30? your could be my son, honey! :-D happy day!

thank you MB! heroic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am Otis Fodder:

I kid, we need to multiply by at least 1.7 or 1.8. ;)
Avatar 11:36am Linda Lee:

thanks much.
Avatar 11:37am Linda Lee:

ahahah! no let's not!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Otis Fodder:

I know what day it is Rich. It's yer birthday ya young whippersnapper!
Avatar 11:40am Linda Lee:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Otis Fodder:

Thanks for spreading the love LL!
Avatar 11:41am Linda Lee:

I'm on a mission honey! :-D
Avatar 11:42am Linda Lee:

you have no idea what good medicine you're handing out today. thank you.
Avatar 11:49am Linda Lee:

my mama had this one. she also had a really lovely married man to love. we heard this one quite a bit. amazing record.
Avatar 11:51am Linda Lee:

she was in a spider's web on the album cover, iirc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am Otis Fodder:

Amazing record. Yes, one to listen to with someone you love. A good partner 4 sure! That spider web too, you know what you are buying when you pick up this record!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am Otis Fodder:

"you don't have to wash anyone else's funky drawers but your own". Ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am Rich in Washington:

Thanks, Otis, LL!
I was not prepared for how quickly I went from "I can't believe you're actually X years old" to "Do you qualify for the senior discount?"
Avatar 11:54am Sonderangebot:

I agree with her. Nothing like doing the washing just for one!
Avatar 11:54am Linda Lee:

real interesting hearing this one 40 years later ~ after one's been around a bit.
Avatar 11:55am Linda Lee:

on both sides of the equation, too.
Avatar 11:55am Linda Lee:

all three even. :-)
Avatar 11:57am Linda Lee:

hey Rich ~ throw in a little misgendering too & welcome to my life. :-)
hope it's a beautiful day!
Avatar 11:57am Linda Lee:

"do you have an ID, sir?" :-D
  12:01pm Martinibomb:

Happy Birthday Rich
Avatar 12:01pm Linda Lee:

hahah! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03pm Rich in Washington:

I got the really over-the-top patronizing 'You ARE old enough to buy beer, aren't you?" from a checker at the grocery store the other day. I felt like I was in a nursing home with applesauce running down my chin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, MB!
Avatar 12:03pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 12:04pm Linda Lee:

they really take no chances. I was still carded at 50!
Avatar 12:05pm Linda Lee:

they're relaxing a little bit now, but they still call me sir.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Rich in Washington:

I patronize those evil automated checkers at my neighborhood supermarket. When you scan alcohol, an alarm goes off, the checker has to come over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Otis Fodder:

I always get the "are you a student" when I am picking up my coffee beans from a local shop. First time I said no. Now I say yes and get that discount.
Avatar 12:06pm Linda Lee:

yet another drawback to payroll cost-cutting. everyone in the store knows you're buying booze.
  12:08pm Martinibomb:

Anyone have any new music recommendations I can check out?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm Rich in Washington:

I have actually said yes about the senior discount when asked and gotten away with it.
i guess that's the new sneaking into an R rated movie, buying beer with a fake ID, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm Rich in Washington:

Oh wow. I think I have this record. Or a similar one.
Avatar 12:11pm Linda Lee:

Millie knows it's not the bacon makin' your hubby happy. get hip, lady!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Otis Fodder:

MB - Check out this cool band, singing songs about the Metro here. Caught them live in December at a Montreal shindig, stmgetaway.bandcamp.com
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Otis Fodder:

Fastest Eleanor Rigby in the West! Bang Bang!
  12:14pm Martinibomb:

Thanks Otis!
Avatar 12:14pm Linda Lee:

all the funky people. where do they all get down?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Otis Fodder:

MB, have been meaning to play them. Really fun stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Webhamster Henry:

Boogie down with the Disco Beat of Persuasion.
Avatar 12:28pm Linda Lee:

any porn soundtracks on tap today, Otis?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Otis Fodder:

No, but I can pull something out. I have a stack of porn flexis I bought for 5 bucks a few years ago, but that's for another show with a NSFW disclaimer. Planning a 'blue' show at some point. Oh my!
Avatar 12:31pm Linda Lee:

need a bit more funk on this side, love
  12:32pm Martinibomb:

whew got my show ready for tomorrow now I get to go draw while I listen to your show Oats!
Avatar 12:32pm Linda Lee:

oh la la! that sounds yummy!
Avatar 12:33pm Linda Lee:

MB, earlier advice regards the FMU app, yes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Linda, Henry, Otis and Martini and Sonderangebot!
Avatar 12:34pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 12:36pm Sonderangebot:

Hi Jan! And everyone, sorry for being so impolite! I love listening to Otis at work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Otis Fodder:

Hellooooo Jan!
Avatar 12:38pm Linda Lee:

we're all forgiving here in the jungle room, Sonderangebot! no apologies needed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Otis Fodder:

Thanks Sonderangebot, I listen at work during the week a lot as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Jan Turkenburg:

I second that. I sometimes don't feel very chatty and sometimes just like you I have things to do while listening :-)
  12:47pm ARB:

Avatar 2:08pm ARB:

oh this is very nice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Otis Fodder:

Released last year, great collection of Brother's output... or should that be... INPUT.... ooooohhhh woooooo wooooooooo
Avatar 2:10pm ARB:

it's really carbonating my own blood
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Rich in Washington:

Some kind soul stitched all of Theodore's appearances on David Letterman into one YouTube video. It's over three hours long.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Rich in Washington:

What a magnificent voice. Someone ought to make a documentary on him. There IS one, but someone really ought to do a proper one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Otis Fodder:

That voice... compelling me... to play something dark next...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Otis Fodder:

Wow, don't know a doc, could you post a link here Rich or what's the title?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Rich in Washington:

It's called To My Great Chagrin: The Unbelievable Story of Brother Theodore.
It's not very good. Just a jumble of clips of him and some interviews with people. A capable filmmaker could do a better job of it, I felt.
  2:20pm Martinibomb:

love theodore that's too bad it's not hawt
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Rich in Washington:

Manson when he used his jesus voice, sort suppressing his Arkansas accent and con man voice.
Avatar 2:21pm ARB:

Otis thank you! I've never heard this stuff, it's so interesting!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Rich in Washington:

I am losing count of how many of these lines made their way into Industrial and Punk songs.
Avatar 2:22pm ARB:

is manson only used on that track?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Otis Fodder:

I flipped when they did a reissue of that Zos Kia and Coil release a couple of years ago. The Nekrophile cassette label was a dark fav I had 3+ decades back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Otis Fodder:

2 variations of that track on the tape (vinyl reissue). First one is just Zos Kia Live. The one I played was live with Coil.
Avatar 2:30pm ARB:

I'm a big Coil fan, but isn't everyone?
Avatar 2:34pm Linda Lee:

my dear, dear Otis, isn't it Norman Loo - boff?
Avatar 2:36pm Linda Lee:

also: the bucket of tears was *last* night. none today at all, at all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Otis Fodder:

Ha, it might be Looooo boff! Probably is. Ha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Otis Fodder:

Yes, I hope to one day have the Coil 10" of the Unreleased Hellraiser Themes. For now, MP3s light my way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Otis Fodder:

I'd like to see some covers of this Zappa cut. Wowie... ZOWIE indeed.
Avatar 2:46pm Linda Lee:

oh Molly. I'd grow for you too.
Avatar 2:47pm Sonderangebot:

I'm gonna start to talk sexy to my plants and see how it goes...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Otis Fodder:

  2:53pm Martinibomb:

just getting into my zone and your show is over in a few.. grrrr

I remember finding Sleep Dirt on 8-Track in a closeout bin when I was a kid. I didn't understand - where were all the funny sped up voices and dirty double entendres?
Avatar 2:56pm Sonderangebot:

Oh yeah baby mist those leaves
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Otis Fodder:

Sleep Dirt on 8-Track as a Kid. That tells me everything I need to know WHY you are WHO are as a DJ Rich. Haaaa ha ha.
Avatar 2:58pm Linda Lee:
