Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm ParUbi:

Hey everyone & hi Kim
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm chresti:

Aww pupper!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm KimSorise:

Welcome everyone!
That sweet pup is our Caycee J Dilla Smith Sorise, and she is amazing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm doctorjazz:

It's Pup Grease! (Sweet looking pup!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm KimSorise:

She loves to sit up under the curtain in Derrick’s studio when he is working. When I am working she keeps watch in the front window.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm doctorjazz:

Our pooches sit at the window non stop when my wife is out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm Doug Schulkind:

This is outstanding. A new to me. Thanks, Kim!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm KimSorise:

Thank you, Doug. I have played other tracks off of it - but this is my first time playing Mzwandile
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm Doug Schulkind:

This Shamek Farrah is also new to me. I have his earlier Strata-East, but not this. Thanks, Kim!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm KimSorise:

@doug This is also on Strata-East from 1977. Reissue just came out. It’s nice - different from First Impressions but still solid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm Doug Schulkind:

Yep. I've been aware of this other Strata-East LP, but never had it in my clutches.
  7:39pm Mark R:

This Tour Aizawa track is hot stuff, indeed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm KimSorise:

Many thanks @Mark R - welcome!
  7:41pm Mark R:

Tohru--gosh darn autocorrect! Is Tohru the piano player? The whole group is great in any case.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm KimSorise:

Yes - sure is @Mark R
Avatar 8:01pm Little Danny:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm Gina Bacon:

Happy Monday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm KimSorise:

Thanks - she is my toothless wonder!
  8:08pm CC:

Kim... I think I just figured out what Global Grease means... music that gets you lubed up and ready to go out into the world!!!..(:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm KimSorise:

Good evening, Gina! Welcome to the show! Excited to hear Big Planet Noise tonight at 9pm!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm KimSorise:

I think that is the perfect definition for Global Grease, CC! The world is a place we all need to slide in and out of - at our own risk at times. Safe travels.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm Gina Bacon:

Thank you, neighbor!! I'm digging this flute!
  8:11pm bigplanetnoise:

Kim!Kim!Kim! Sounding great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm KimSorise:

Jazz flute never hurt nobody!
Welcome Bob! Hope you had a wonderful birthday!
Avatar 8:15pm Little Danny:

Pro segue into Positive Force!
  8:15pm CC:

I can't ever get Bob to tell me what year he graduated high school???...hehehe
  8:16pm CC:

I can't even find out when Bob Hope graduated high school???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm KimSorise:

Haha! Sometimes I hit it @Little Danny
  8:36pm CC:

Does anyone remember the cartoon Ruff and Ready???... there was this alien from the planet Muni Mula... which was aluminum spelled backwards...etc... I forget the plot???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37pm coelacanth∅:

Kim -toothless? she looks in a good way otherwise. is she elderly?
...and she looks a little like a weimaraner -a breed very dear to me... but more brown and a much bigger chest spot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm coelacanth∅:

(she doesn't look elderly)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42pm KimSorise:

She is a pit with a bit of Weimaraner mixed in - it is more noticeable in her coloring.
Caycee J is a rescue we got earlier last year; she came from Memphis which has a huge dog fitting problem. Our girl had a rough start; she was chained and over breed - most likely due to her size.
She more than likely chewed on those chains and cracked all 8 of her front teeth. They were dead when we got her - this fall she got them all taken out. Thankfully the rest are in decent shape but feeding her anything is kind of funny and messy -
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm KimSorise:

*fighting -
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm Doug Schulkind:

Brackeen isn't even trying to hide his Ornette stylings here. Playing with Don Cherry, Charlie Haden and Ed Blackwell must have been inspiring.
Avatar 8:45pm Little Danny:

@Doug: I was sure I was hearing Ornette here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm Doug Schulkind:

@Little Danny
Unless it is Ornette sneaking into the studio... The rest of the band is Ornette's working quartet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm coelacanth∅:

damn, Kim...that's sad -and happy! i'm glad she found you.
and yeah i thought she was a bit stockier than a weimaraner too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm Gina Bacon:

She's beautiful, and so lucky to have a nice life now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm KimSorise:

She is about 5 maybe 6 - vet said she has had at least 5 litters. She is amazingly resilient.
Avatar 8:48pm Little Danny:

@Doug: Yep. Sounds like his quartet circa '63.
  8:49pm CC:

No telling how many people sat in back in the day!?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm Doug Schulkind:

HEY, Y'ALL READY FOR SOME NOISE??!!

Big Planet Noise with Bob and Gina is up next on the Drummer Stream (9-11p, ET). Go here to check the tunes and chat with groovy kids: wfmu.org...
Avatar 8:51pm Little Danny:

Ah, great album, this Roy Haynes! And what a line-up for a one-off (?) set of sessions
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm Gina Bacon:

Thanks, Doug!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm Doug Schulkind:

Groovy Gina!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm KimSorise:

@Little Danny - Tommy Flanagan, Roland Kirk, Henry Grimes
  8:54pm CC:

I ain't callin names or nothing but my brother-in-law from St Louis sat in with Miles Davis back in the early days he knew Freddie Hubbard, Coltrane...etc...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm chresti:

Thanks for the fine greasy sounds, Kim.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm Gina Bacon:

Thanks, Kim!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm coelacanth∅:

it's now reaffirmed, i need to explore Charles Brackeen's work
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm coelacanth∅:

Thanks Kim!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm KimSorise:

Many thanks, friends! Enjoy your week and stay tuned for Big Planet Noise!
