Avatar 4:57pm Mr Fab:

Its great that u can find 3 hours worth of new musik every week, MB. I wish more contemporary acts would send me their stuff so i can add it to Sheena's repertoire.
Avatar 4:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever, GTDR 5-7pm):

  5:25pm Martinibomb:

Heeee Hee
  5:25pm Martinibomb:

@Rich this is one of my early shows at Freeform Portland. Just thought it would be fun to listen to right now
  5:26pm Martinibomb:

I think i was having issues with the CD players oops hopefully not too much dead air
Avatar 5:36pm Otis Fodder:

Shuffling in for some MB (music bombs) post-work pre-supper. Hello everyone!
Avatar 5:38pm Otis Fodder:

Oh yea, I got to do a Rabbit Hash episode once, that was fun! 10 years back, time flies.
  5:39pm Martinibomb:

Hello Otis!
  5:39pm Martinibomb:

yeh felt like playing an early Freeform Portland episode.. happens to be all CDs
Avatar 5:40pm Otis Fodder:

I see you played Bobby Brown, good taste my man... love that title!
  5:40pm Martinibomb:

^Played two tracks/artists I heard from you that and the DJ Format one
Avatar 5:40pm Otis Fodder:

Missed some good gems there, will listen back to your U2 redux.
Avatar 5:41pm Otis Fodder:

So cool. That's what station sharing is all about!
  5:41pm Martinibomb:

^It's the instrumental redux there's a vocal version too
Avatar 5:42pm Otis Fodder:

Yea, I want to fill the playlist search on FMU with more Simonsound and DJ Format, always good.
  5:42pm Martinibomb:

I want my new music project to sound like them
Avatar 5:43pm Otis Fodder:

I know what you mean there. DJ Format meets CARPET SQUARES! ;)
  5:45pm Martinibomb:

ooops CD malfunction Lol ooooh community radio
  5:47pm Martinibomb:

Somebody should talk Coconut Monkey Rocket into doing a show on Sheena's
Avatar 5:47pm Otis Fodder:

Totally, what is Jason up to these days, haven't touched base with him in years.
  5:48pm Martinibomb:

Last time I talked to him he seemed busy with his job?
  5:50pm Martinibomb:

He was still working on new Coconut Monkey stuff tho
Avatar 5:51pm Otis Fodder:

That's cool. Sounds like me, new album every decade (it seems).
  5:51pm Martinibomb:

@Otis u and I bang stuff out but Jason.. he goes over tracks for years. I just don't have that attention to detail.
Avatar 5:53pm Otis Fodder:

Same here, finish, put it on the shelf and move on. Until the remix happens.
  6:02pm Domenic:

Freeform portland. Thanks for the exposure.
  6:04pm Martinibomb:

Yeh they are a super cool little station! Def in the vein of WFMU
Avatar 6:08pm Mr Fab:

Loved that song “No More.” Would like to hear.. some more.
Avatar 6:10pm Mr Fab:

getting a bit Stereolab-y here with those ooh la la vox. Nice!
  6:12pm Martinibomb:

^ who doesn't love a little ooh la la
Avatar 6:15pm Mr Fab:

Happy birthday, big E, wherever you are.
Avatar 6:16pm Otis Fodder:

He's in the forest with Jim Morrison last I heard or maybe on that island again.
Avatar 6:18pm huomenta:

martinibomb, it is a bit of a mixed blessing you should mention freeform portland were a bit like wfmu, this means I will give them a listen and sleep even less. - I mean Finland does have a seven to ten hour time difference with your US time zones and yes, I have found myself staying up until 7am with Daniel Blumin for instance. Greetings from a radio nerd/insomniac.
  6:19pm Martinibomb:

@Huomenta Lol It's a very hyper-local freeform station I'm the *carts* chair hahah
  6:21pm Martinibomb:

If you knokw anyone in Portland who wants to do a music related radio show Freeform Portland is looking for volunteers right now
Avatar 6:22pm MrCrispy:

Just got here! Skimming through the convo - are you playing your first Freeform show right now?!
Avatar 6:24pm huomenta:

Brian Jonestown Massacre - perkele, I have not seen them live since May 2010 and even then it was just an hour since I missed my train and took the next one hoping the support act would take their time - they did not or BJM played an unusually short set(this did not happen I believe).
  6:24pm Martinibomb:

@Crispy I played an excerpt from show #9
Avatar 6:26pm MrCrispy:

That's cool buddy - was it weird going back and listening to early Martinibomb on the mic? You seem so comfortable now, I don't remember if it was that way all the way back then
Avatar 6:26pm huomenta:

hyperlocal does not matter, it is actually better, wfmu does have its antlers tuned into local matters as well and it is interesting for me who lives in europe
  6:26pm Martinibomb:

@Huo I haven't seen them in a really long time either
  6:27pm Martinibomb:

@Huo MrCrispy here just happens to be Freeform Portland DJ with a show every other Friday from 8-10pm
Avatar 6:29pm huomenta:

mb, will check mr crispy out as well and ff portland is luckily available online, no need for a us visa for tuning in, ha ha...
  6:30pm Martinibomb:

@Huo they don't have archives but a lot of DJs will archive on Mixcloud
Avatar 6:31pm Mr Fab:

And the interesting thing about the alt-streams like this one, most DJs are not in the WFMU area (e.g.: most Sheena DJs are west coasters) so you get a number of local viewpoints. Apart from MB’s Portland artist shows, GeorgyGirl did a special on Brighton UK bands, I have a bead on SoCal acts I add to the stream, etc.
Avatar 6:32pm MrCrispy:

Ha, thanks MB! Huo Ill be on the air this Friday at 8 PST - wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't for MB's encouragement. Always trying (and failing) to live up to his standard!
Avatar 6:33pm huomenta:

thanx for info martinibomb!
  6:33pm Martinibomb:

^ I have a standard?
Avatar 6:34pm MrCrispy:

@mb High water mark? Is that better?
  6:34pm Martinibomb:

@crispy maybe I'll come by
Avatar 6:35pm MrCrispy:

Heck yeah buddy!
Avatar 6:41pm Mr Fab:

Everything about that Robots track - band name, song title, music - is awesome-sauce.
  6:42pm Martinibomb:

^ I suspected you would love that one as much as I
Avatar 6:44pm MrCrispy:

It's nice to see the Fifth Dimension collaborating with modern artists
  6:46pm Martinibomb:

I'm not 100% it's that 5th Dimension.. I need to read up on that
Avatar 6:47pm MrCrispy:

I assumed it wasn't, that would be funny though for them to bring their silky harmonies to a song like that!
Avatar 6:48pm geezerette:

MB, show so good no need for java. Wide awake and happily buzzed on sound waves. Thanks!
  6:49pm Martinibomb:

^ a bit of a bone shaker in places! Thanks for stickin' with us
Avatar 6:50pm geezerette:

Avatar 6:56pm Mr Fab:

Love how this new format is shakin up. Literally.
Avatar 6:57pm MrCrispy:

Breakin' the (radio) law!!
Avatar 6:58pm Otis Fodder:

Thanks for the evening tunes, see ya!
  7:00pm Martinibomb:

Thanks again everyone! Super fun
Avatar 5:26pm ARB:
