I would be in favor of a reboot of the year as well. Maybe I can just back to my single-digit self and binge on some SHR cartoons.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:20pm

Learned of Tanega via WFMU. Amazing clever and joyful music.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:20pm

Every single time I've seen a cat on a leash it seemed to me to be an affront to nature (and the nature of cats)
Avatar 🥁 4:20pm

Same for me WR.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:22pm
Funky16Corners:

If you find this album grab it. It was reissued on CD more than 20 years ago, and then on limited vinyl a few years back. The original has become very scarce.
Avatar 4:22pm
Mod Mokka Matti:

We had former neighbours across the street from us (and were good friends with) whose daughter (roughly same age as me) would regularly take the family cats on walks, with leashes - back in the early-mid 80s.

Avatar 🥁 4:25pm
Erica:

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:27pm
doctorjazz:

Funny thing...i know these songs, but the name Norma Tanega isn't familiar.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:29pm
Funky16Corners:

I wonder where you heard them? I know of (and will play) some covers but not of most of these
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm
Franco Twinkie:

In my mind I always associate Norma with the musical mood of San Francisco, which is off the mark because although she was from Vallejo in The East Bay, she was not at all part of that scene. But none the less, I see Victorian houses and fog when I hear her music. Case in point: A Street That Rhymes at 6AM.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:31pm
Funky16Corners:

Yeah, there's a very specific "feel" to her music.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:32pm
Funky16Corners:

And oddly enough, discovered working at a summer camp in New York!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:34pm
doctorjazz:

The 1st 2 or 3 seemed like I knew them, not the rest. Now some covers, which could explain things.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:34pm
KevinfromBayRidge:

My favorite part of "Things We do In the Shadows"
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:34pm
Funky16Corners:

That show really put her back on the map

Now THIS QMS song was all over NY FM radio when it came out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm

All though by all accounts he was a first class a-hole, Dino Valente was a great singer song writer. Saw him in QMS along with the great Nicky Hopkins in 1971.
