Hi Mistah Da Bombah!
Avatar 10:08am Martinibomb:

just made a toad in a hole for breakfast
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am Jan Turkenburg:

I'm afraid you'll have to explain that to this unknowing old Dutchman
Avatar 10:11am Martinibomb:

It's a British thing. They cut a whole in a slice of bread and then cook an egg in the middle. LoL

Avatar 10:11am Martinibomb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12am Jan Turkenburg:

I didn't even notice. That's how my brain has been working this whole day...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am Jan Turkenburg:

or hole day ... for that matter
Avatar 10:16am Martinibomb:

Holy toast! Batman :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am Jan Turkenburg:

How's the weather overthere? Here it's really miserable, dark grey, rainy ...
Avatar 10:29am Martinibomb:

@Jan honestly it's been abnormally warm. Warmest January I remember.. however they say it's going to *maybe* snow next week.. so that could change?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am Jan Turkenburg:

It's warmer than average overhere as well and they are not expecting any change soon, but it's awfully grey and dark
Avatar 10:41am Martinibomb:

I love this kinda piano playin'
Avatar 10:42am WR:

A new day / time?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am Jan Turkenburg:

Yep and the background sounds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi WR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am Jan Turkenburg:

Yes and one hour extra! The plan is to keep it this way.
Avatar 10:45am Martinibomb:

2 hours of Sounds Under 64? I didn't realize you were adding an extra hour. And 78rpm records are so short! That's a lot of songs to play. Heh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

quite ambitious and yay! hi, folx!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Granny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Hi, Jan! Hi, Martinibomb! Hi, WR! Hi, lurkers!
Avatar 10:52am WR:

Yes, that Lil Brother recording is one that I commented on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar 10:53am WR:

You are going to play 78s from a hand cranked acoustic player?
Avatar 10:54am Martinibomb:

hellooooooo Granny, WR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

I love 78s, have a modest collection and a cabinet Victrola in fine condition. Used to do a live hand-cranked gig at a club in SF. It was helpful to have two DJs with two portables for that!
Avatar 10:56am WR:

Hi GST and Martinibomb and whomever else happens to read this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am Jan Turkenburg:

@WR, yes, that's the idea. I have been doing that on Frame Duggy Louder every once in a while. Not the whole show though, otherwise I would run out of material too soon and also the sound quality is less pleasant for the ears
Avatar 11:08am Martinibomb:

@Gran I also have a cabinet Victrola from I think 1922 I love that passive sound
Avatar 11:20am Martinibomb:

you got me acting just like a loon, must be love
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar 11:37am WR:

That little bit of everything cylinder sounded pretty good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am Jan Turkenburg:

Okay, I obviously don't know too much about cylinder recordings ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am Jan Turkenburg:

Just looked up: Rudy Starita was from Italy but lived a big part of his life in Florida US
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am Jan Turkenburg:

and in England. I really could improve on prepation of shows ...
Avatar 11:49am WR:

Cylinders wear is noticeable after regular repeated play. It has been years since I hung out with early music aficionados so don't recall the details except that finding one with good sound generally meant it was not played often. Additionally your source did a good job transferring to digital.
Avatar 11:50am WR:

Greatly appreciate your sharing the recordings via the stream and the eclectic approach. Excellent for listening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am Jan Turkenburg:

thank you, WR I still haven't found out if Cees from Breda still lives... I remember he was very thorough and was critical about other people's transfers in the late 90s early 2000s
Avatar 11:59am WR:

Thank you Jan.
